80's did the best horrors and sci-fi's. The irony is The Thing did absolutely terrible at the box office on release... so bad it really put off John Carpenter from horror films. Yet no sci-fi or horror fan thinks that today and considers it one of the best films of the genre. It did not just stand the test of time... it matured.
@@TheChaves11b Yeah E.T. Was one of the reasons. The people who watched E.T. were expecting something "pleasant" and heart-warming lol. Apparently the "gore was too much and unnecessary". Lot's of reviewers and critics hammered the film. Regardless, It will however always be one of my favourite sci-fi horrors. It contains every aspect of fear... Paranoia, confusion, desperation, isolation, aggressiveness, effects, gore... just everything.
I definitely want to bring back the old-school special effects after I get a dream job for saving Hollywood and stop all this madness in today's world.
Fun little nerd fact for The Stuff: It's inspired by the creation of Sweet'n'Low. Saccharine was discovred when a chemist got coal tar on his hand & decided to taste it, then market it as an artificial sweetener.
Brilliant stories, action, horror, sets as they weren't CGI green screens back then! And props too, actors had something to work off other then a giant blue or green wall and it shows.
Yall forgot the Hellraiser movies. Yall foThe Evil Dead made me laugh so hard. Like each one, but I couldn't stop watching it. I might watch all of those this weekend 😂 The Blob was good too but when it pulled dude through the sink, I was like 😑🤷🏾♀️
Gotta vote for The Thing as the best. Incomparable atmosphere and outstanding effects as well as characters

E.T was released the same week in theaters is the reason it did poorly at the box office

Yes The Thing was dope. I loved watching the newer version and then going back and watching the original. Underrated
"l've Become Brundlefly" Seth Brundle: The Fly (1986)
Thuglife ❤
Back in those days, they had to make puppets rather than using computer-generated c***
The Thing was LESS a remake of the The Thing From Another World and more of a second adaptation of the short story "Who Goes There".
The 80's IMO was the best decade in films.
Old school 80's practical effects needs to make a comeback in cinema and tv

Gremlins is a master piece i get its not really scary but its a master piece of a film.
Hey!!!!!!!!
You forgot to mention "Tremors" (1988) that stars Kevin Bacon. Tremors is a horror classic that deserves to be on this list.
1990 release
Yes. I remember one day watching all the installments. Thuglife ❤
I've seen every movie on this list multiple times.
Excellent Selections

James Cameron's Aliens 1986 is the 2th best movie ever made.
Beaten by the nr 1 Jurassic Park 1993 🥰.
Predator is nr 3 😁
Bring back rubber suits, I gladly choose that over poor cgi
You can tell a film has real props and sets these days over a giant wall painted blue or green. The acting IMO is much better with the real sets.

Help me: the original fly
Might be the first horror/Sci fi film I cried watching 😬😂 reminds me of a horror version of the book "The Metamorphosis."
thanks for the suggestions

Probably, you should check your audio tracks, sometimes there are volume peacks. which is wery uncomfortabe. But content is pretty good.
GIVE ALL CREDIT TO STAN WINSTON. ❤
The thing is the best horror 😮
The video isn't really about the special effects, it's just a short description of the movie, which makes the title kind of misleading.
Watched E.T. and thought hmm💭🤔.. watched The Thing 😮that's more like it👍🏼
Deadites evil dead
What Howling were you watching?
I love them all. All real makeup and practical affects is way better than all theCGI crap created today. It’s lazy.
