Engine starts from ground power require the forward left and right external power sources to be providing power. The aft external power source should also be used, if available. This reduces electrical load shedding and assists the start of the right engine. Do not start both engines at the same time. Start the right engine first, if possible. Note: This procedure assumes the APU is not available for engine start.
Thx for the extensive walkthrough, just switching from the 777F to 787-9 pax version and it all looks familiar but seeing it up front makes it much more easy to prepare for the conversion missions 👍🙏

Man, no one told me that MSFS was going to be so much WORK 😂 Just started this past summer and first studied the fenix a320. I do use SimBrief and NaviGraph. Once comfortable with the a320, Ive spent the past month or so on the PMDG 737-800. Slowly adding in others on occasion just to begin familiarity. So right now Im juggling the 787, ATR 42/72, CRJ 550/700, BAe 146, A310.
Thanks for another amazing video and for sharing your knowledge with the community. I discovered my passion for flight simulation through your videos. 😊
Thanks for making this. I've been looking forward to enjoying the 787. I hope the improvements are worth it. Can you post the scenery links in the description (0:34)? Thanks again! :)
Excellent video tutorial, but maybe I missed something... you requested pushback from GSX, then had a glitch and restarted, but when you restarted, you never started the APU, turned on the APU generators, or disconnected External power? Then you started the engines (off the APU I'm assuming, and the once the engines were running, then shut off the APU, which never had been started. (?) You mentioned earlier on in the video that you would be starting the APU, and that we would be seeing that later, but then we never did. Did that happen during the glitch? I wanted to know the sequence of electrical power source management from the point of pushback to engine start. I'm assuming that you would start the APU and APU generators, then disconnect external power, then request pushback, start the engines, then shut off the APU.
Thank you very much for an outstanding video tutorial. I have been flying the 787-10 quite a lot but I'm still coming to terms with the unusual behavior of the autopilot after the latest update. During the initial climb it levels off at 10000 feet and will stay at that for the remainder of the flight unless I manually climb past that maybe 15-20k and then reconnect the autopilot and then all is good. When it comes to descending, the aircraft levels off at 10000 feet and I'll have to manually descend to about 5000 and reconnect A/P and then fly approach and landing. Still hoping to find an explanation for this idiosyncrasy.
Fallow the tutorial and was great thanks!! Did I miss the APU Start? After push back most of my screen went blackout. I guess when ground power was disconnected.
Had an amazing first flight in this aircraft today thanks to your amazing video. It is a FPS hog though for sure so hopefully they can iron out that in future releases.
Hi! Good video I hope you're doing great, I hope I don't bother you but how's your type rating going? I've seen some of your videos but haven't really heard anything about it, looking forward to some Airbus stuff! Keep up the videos pls!
Excellent stuff as usual! The 777 shares type-rating with the 787 correct? So this will be excellent prep for the upcoming PMDG 777. I think you actually hinted at that in the video?! ;)
I think my eyes started to shine after that perfect PA just like anime characters doing, especialy in anime "Komi Can’t Communicate" Heh.😁 Really nice guide. So sad i am playing on really outdated pirate version of msfs2020. So my b787-10 feels like it's from junkyard: Engines are not possible to start unless i start to play already on the runway. Cut off switches are nice toys to play with during flight, because they are doing absolutely nothing to engine fuel control. And the only way to disable engines is to disable all fuel pumps. Engines for some reason are extremely underpowered. So on the approach with flaps 30 and 150 knots i almost need to use toga to keep my plane flying with a standart load and 50% of fuel left. I don't even wanna think what will happen with full load + 1 engine is fucked up on take off. Head up display is not like yours, it's a lot simplier with less functionality. Many buttons are not working but that's kinda normal for standart msfs planes. During taxi i need to use 70% ot thrust to actually start to move this thing. and it's just doesn't want to turn at all. So proper taxi and parking like on B747-8 or A320neo that i have in sim is not available for me. Oh did i mention that when i braking the plane starting to shake up and down. Probably Snoop Dog modified it.😁 Well average expirience on outdated 1.12.13 version. But i guess it's better than nothing. My main airliners are still A320Neo and B747-8, because they actually doing what they suppose to do in sim, But it's still nice to try something new.
Hello everyone and thank you, excellent video, but I have a question and I hope you can help me please, with the update of the B78X (AAU2) is very difficult to perform the landing, I have followed every step and it has not been possible, or maybe it is a bug of the 787 in the Sim. Thank you.
I've only flown the 87 around the pattern, which is fun and clearly demonstrates how well behaved it is, but now I am looking forward to a long haul with this a/c.

Is it a good default aircraft? FOR SURE! Is it still not realistic in some places? Absolutely. There's a huge difference between good default and realistic. See, Fenix and PMDG are not realistic in some places. You just can't be fully realistic on a computer game which all our home sims ultimately are.

Hey Emanuel, please answer this quick question because I think it has a simple explanation. I set up everything like you did in the descent forecast page on my way to Heathrow. Changed altitude before top of descent from 40000ft to 2500ft and VNAV started descending. But at 12000ft it suddenly stopped and never continued even past when I was supposed to be at 7000ft. Any ideas? Thanks!
