    Great job on the new detailing van , looking forward to the next instalment . I feel your pain when looking for a van as I've seen some c**p in my time . I'd possibly consider getting a Numatic George if your doing more interior work they really are worth the investment.

      I'm amazed at how bad some people let their fans get! I'd probably get a Bissel Spot Clean Pro for mobile interior work as the unit is small and effective, I've used that and the George side by side...and whilst there is a performance difference...car interiors seemed to really close the gap. If you were doing other stuff inside the house then it's a no brained, George all the way.
      That Vax is brilliant though, once I'd fixed it. £35 from Makro 15 years ago!

      @@Musicianandteacher I'd have thought so too. Unfortunately an Albatross seems to have crapped all over it now so it needs a wash regardless, a good opportunity for a deep inspection though.

    Nice work turned out great. Thought you'd use car pro perl for a interior dressing as it's so good and cheap.

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  7 місяців тому

      I've never really liked PERL that much - not too sure why really, there's no good reason for it as it's a great product. I think I had 303 first, so I use that and GT Dash Serum now.

    • @kwl189
      @kwl189 7 місяців тому

      @@SuperchargedLlama GT has a great reputation along with Tac seal products. Tac seal is kind of similar to perl in dilution ratios and value for money. I think it's all preference when it comes down to it. You like what you like and sometimes the usability or experience of another product just doesn't deliver satisfaction.

      @@MichailDoc yup that's the next step. Probably the bit I've been looking forward to the most tbh but I wanted it to be a treat at the end rather than starting with that (which was tempting). Although I had to do that inside to make it somewhere I'd actually want to be in. 😉

    Did you use a branded vacuum cleaner to do the extraction? Or did you use a standard cheap wet dry vac from something like Toolstation, Wickes and Homebase?

    I like your videos very much, I noticed that you use 5% (1:20) of Bilt Hamber Surfex HD, in the package they refer to use "can be added to water at just 0.5% to form an effective cleaner for light application and increased in strength to neat if required for heavy industrial applications."
    Using a higher percentage, doesn't it risk damaging some plastics?

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the kind words and the question. You're absolutely right that at high concentrations it can damage plastics, I've seen it on someone else's videos so I always keep it fairly weak for interior cleaning. 5% is absolutely sufficient for pretty much everything, maybe 10% for greasy bits like door jams and the filler cap...and engine bays!
      When I'm cleaning leather I tend to us Koch Chemie Pol Star.

    • @kwl189
      @kwl189 8 місяців тому

      @@SuperchargedLlamacan pol star really be used on leather? Been looking for a good leather cleaner as I don't want to use Surfex HD as APCs can dry out and stain leather.

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  8 місяців тому

      @@kwl189 yup, and it's very good. Fat safer than a APC as well - it's literally designed for it. Pol Star is Koch Chemie 's leather cleaner.

    • @kwl189
      @kwl189 8 місяців тому +1

      @@SuperchargedLlama Thanks for replying. Glad to hear it as have heard some things about APCs on leathers even if they're meant to be for all surfaces. The other issue with APCs like Surfex HD is having to rinse through places like the interior to get rid of the residue. Need to keep a bottle spare for water! Koch Chemie's range confuses me a lot with their names and terminology like their H series of compounds then theres F series and M series etc. I thought Pol Star was a dressing until now!

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  8 місяців тому +1

      @@kwl189 I can understand that. Surfex is so potent as well, it really can't be used above 1% on leather otherwise it's got a good chance of taking the coating off (well, over time and repeated use anyway, at 5% it definitely can damage some leathers).
      The Koch Chemie naming system can be properly confusing. With the polishes it confused me that M was finer than F originally, especially as F stands for Fine Cut. M stands for micro fine. Best bet with their stuff is to really read their product descriptions, because the name doesn't tell you enough. Like TopStar is actually a dressing, Leather Star is a leather conditioner....but Green Star and Pol Star are cleaners....not helpful!
