    The newer tap doesn’t seem any better. The entire time you were dispensing the Bilt Hamber product it was leaking from the neck of the bottle! This is a classic example of a company trying to reinvent the wheel just to make a proprietary product simply to separate the consumer from their money. It’s absolutely nonsensical. They should have saved themselves a ton of money and stayed with the industry standard and maybe solely designed a better tap!

      Ahhhh that slight drip? That was on the threads, I didn't do it up properly the first time so when I put it down it trickled out. I stood it up and tightened it properly, adjusted the tap and put it back down, it dripped a bit from residual stuff in the thread, but it's stopped and been fine since. It's horizontal in my van at the moment and no further product has escaped.
      That aside, I completely agree that they should have stuck with the other containers, I prefer them to handle and store...and there's more dispensing accessories for them, should you want them.
      The aero flow taps though, if you want a tap, are the only option to get.

      That new fancy BH tap at the end there, it still appeared to be glugging to me? i could hear it too! the first original one with the breather is so much better and i think its because it doesnt have that long neck from the bottle the way the new BH tap does, you can see the air in the top of it causing it to glugg!

      I totally agree, no difference - both are terrible. Funnel all the way still.

      In reality it's very different because there's a consistent flow of product. BUT the footage here isn't showing the smooth pour, so I will do a quick video at some point this week to demo that better than I did here, apologies.@@sickranchez2023

    I’ve got a small funnel. Works with all containers sizes

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  11 місяців тому

      Funnels are definitely the cheapest and easiest method when you're not doing it that frequently. This style of tap is a huge boon if you're getting stuff out multiple times a day, which is why I've got it on my snow foam container. I don't really use it with Surfex (although I'm demonstrating with that here) as it's something I don't do as frequently, and the taps cost £5-8, whereas the funnel is dead cheap.
      You said "small funnel" and I think this is key, with big funnels I find the smaller 1L bottles can topple over when they're empty, but that doesn't happen with a small one.

      @@SuperchargedLlama Yes, it poured perfectly and consistently, if anything a little bit to quick. The 5 ltr surfex container was only half full and it poured cleanly. I will mix up some korrosol and auto wheel, any changes in performance of these new taps I will drop you a message.

      I've not, but I have found it gunks them right up so they need to be cleaned out in hot water frequently.

    I've also just pour from the 5litre jug into a 500ml measure cup and dilute from that. Its much easier and you can measure how much product you are going to use. Another way I also have is a syringe with measure. Mine has up to 50ml only, but that is fine for small amounts. Easy to get a dilution for a 1 to 10 for example and accurate.

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  11 місяців тому +1

      The measuring jug idea is probably the best one there, it definitely makes the decanting easy. I find the syringe a real faff, I have tried that though.

  • @MrGymCrazy
    @MrGymCrazy 11 місяців тому +1

    Great video, as always. The BH site actually lists the size as 63 mm. (and therefore even more difficult to source from anywhere else). As usual, I couldn't find the YT video showing the correct way of pouring from containers so I'll just have say, either (for tins etc.), pour with the neck at the top, not the bottom, or (which is why I thought BH made the handles bendable) turn it on it's side.
    Wouldn't having the containers "stackable" make it better for them as well as us?🤔

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  11 місяців тому

      You've got some great points there dude!
      I can understand the pouring with the neck at the top as it would help with the glugging air lock, right? Does pouring from the side also achieve that? I've always struggled side pouring to keep a slow flow, I got too much product (Surfex isn't a great example of course, AutoFoam and Touch-Less V1 were probably better candidates).

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  11 місяців тому

      Yeah I can see that now. What it was doing was flowing consistently, but in the footage it looks messy. I'm going to film a quick update during next week to demonstrate it better with a nice smooth flow when the tap is fully open. I see the video they released about this and wasn’t really sure what it was all about, personally not had issue with the pumps because mine sit on shelf not moved about too often and that’s with surfex and touchless where I only occasionally take small amounts to dilute not decanting litres. So glad you done this video to point out what’s actually going on. Also nice Tissot ⌚️ 👍🏼

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  11 місяців тому +1

      That's a good point about not moving the bottles when you've got the pumps in, you're absolutely right that this would mean you'd not get the spillage at all.
      One thing I really like about the taps on the told style containers is that you can stack multiple product bottles on top of each other, still can't do that here, but at least they've solved the dispensing issue for people who move the bottles about/it's in a van.

    When I need to measure I use a KitchenCraft KCBASTERGL Traditional Baster, Glass/Rubber, 30 cm, Yellow & Clear this measures up to 50ml and is 30cm long so goes in to the 5 Ltr bottles no problem. If I am filling a bottle I just pour into a large funnel and so far not had any large accidents

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  11 місяців тому

      I always used to use a funnel or measuring cylinder myself too. Still do for small quantities, because the flow rate from these is pretty high. Great for dispensing snow foams and the like though, and for me it means I can leave the bottle setup ready to dispense, which I can do multiple times a day with AutoFoam/Touch-Less, and a couple of times a week with Auto-wheel, when I'm busy.

    Firstly I like your reviews very logical and you always speak about genuine stuff that I’m into so well done. Watching their latest tap was still painful. The normal taps and bottles that garage therapy use are fine. I personally don’t like the new Bilt hamber bottles, their pumps were awful and won’t be buying this new tap. Makes me wonder with some brands trying to re invent stuff. They’ve got such good products but whoever does their packaging needs a rethink. Keep up the good videos.👍👍

    I hope i don't sound like a beep beep, but just pour the bottle side ways instead of forwards and you'll never spill a drop. I regularly measure out 20-80ml of AF into a 200ml jug with zero issues. I also have 20l containers with Spotless water and can decant into a 5l. Please try it if you haven't already.
