I have their Weizen here and it is really nice.😃👍
The brewery is Patrizier Bräu in Nuremberg.😉

Patrizier is brewed by Tucher, which in turn is owned by Radeberger Gruppe.

Simon I like to do the same, when I’m drinking a beer I tend to dive in to their history to learn more about the beer that I’m drinking at that moment. It’s indeed very interesting to do so.

I think you've been more clever than your realize commenting on the missing name of the brewery. On the back of the bottle it says that it has been brewed FOR (not by) the Nuernberg Bierkontor GmbH. The thing is, it doesn't say that it has been actually brewed in Nurnberg by a brewery there. This vague language makes me suspicious, as in the last 30 years a lot of smaller breweries and their brands have been bought up by big brewing conglomerates. In some cases the bought brewery keeps on brewing on it's previous premises, in other cases that brewery is shut down and the beer is brewed somewhere else (and usually loses in flavor and goodness or it's local character). Looking into this, Tucher seems to have taken over the company that's at the back label, which renamed itself from Patrizier Brauerei to Nuernberg Bierkontor. And it's business is now "sale of beer brands" instead of stating that the beer is actually brewed there. All that said, I don't think Tucher is a giant beer empire but seems to dabble in a couple of other breweries beside it's own.

This is a typical South German Helles, not much bitterness. At the other end of the bitterness spectrum is North German Pilsner of which the most bitter I have ever tasted is Jever. Imagine when these breweries were young they would have produced some nasty tasting - to us at least - dark beer!
