This was a useful lesson! However, there's one thing that isn't entirely accurate.
"meet" and "met" are commonly used for when you're talking about the 1st time, but they can also be used for making plans to arrive at a certain place.
For example: "Could you meet me by the hot dog stand?"
Another way of saying this is "meet up". So, "Let's meet up at the hot dog stand"
When it comes to past-tense, though, I will say that nobody ever uses "met" except when talking about the 1st time, and will instead always use modified version: "met up"
So, it wouldn't be "We met at the hot dog stand" unless it was the first time you met them.
However, if that's where you both arrived, it would be "we met up at the hot dog stand." even if you had known them prior to that meeting.
The word "meet" can also be used as a noun, as in a "track meet", but that's a bit of a different subject altogether.

Love the videos but I find it interesting to see the differences between English spoken in the UK and how Americans speak. For example we don't say 'hang out' this sounds very American. We will say 'let's meet up' or I met up with an old friend.

Bonjour ! I took up learning english for a couple of months, but i think you can't say (4:10) "last night i've played with my grandmather". Because of "last night" you can't use the present perfect... I gess :)Anyway, i juste want to thank you for all your videos, you helped me more than all my teachers at schoolAnd also thanks a lot for your "open-mindness" about all the subjects you treat, i mean the real-life-situations :) I think you deserve a price, maybe not a Nobel price, but a kinda :)One more time Thanks Thanks Thanks

A note on meeting: Yes, it means seeing someone for the first time. However, it also means to just meet as demonstrated in this example which I have taken from Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English:
My dad met us at the station.
In this example, the father has not met his children for the first time at the station.
