Everybody keeps commenting on his birth parents and almost nobody talking about his adopted mother. Apparently this woman was akin to a saint because she obviously did a fantastic job raising him and giving him a proper perspective on life.
Ya kinda sucks he said life milessstones he owes to his birth parents for giving him life. They’d just as well left him to die in a forest.
It's not being a saint to love a child with a disability. She is an amazing mother, we can all agree on that!

Easy to say, but I guarantee not a single women writing a comment like this would ever, in a million years, date him. It's like when women say they want a guy who is funny, sweet and sensitive. But actually date the exact opposite. It's just the kind of thing people say because they think it makes them sound like a good person.
Your parents abandoning you and then not wanting to meet you: It’s truly their loss.
Agree !!! He is very special , and his parents cant see it . What a difference !
His parents are not humans but beings with stony heart
YES THEIR LOSS BUT I WAS SEVERELY REJECTED TOO AND IT DOES HAVE AN AFFECT ON O E, BUT THE REJECTION IS THEIR ISSUE - NEVER A BABY OR A CHILD OR WHEN GROWN THEIR ADULT CHILD. I AM 76 NOW AND WAS ALL MY LIFE REACHING OUT FOR WHAT JUST REFUSED TO BE THERE, A MOM, A DAD. ONE EVENTUALLY LEARNS TO LET IT GO FOR ONE'S OWN SELF WORTH. HOW MANY TIMES HAS IT BEEN RECOGNIZED THAT PHYSICAL APPEARANCE IS SO OFTEN SHALLOW IN COMPARISON TO A PERSONS SOUL/HEART QUALITIES. AT FIRST GLANCE PHYSICAL IMPERFECTIONS CAN STAND OUT BUT IN JUST A FEW MOMENTS TALKING WITH THAT PERSON THE IMPERFECTIONS LIKE VANISH I. LIGHT OF THEIR WONDERFUL AND GENUINE CHARA TER AND SOUL, DEPTH ... IT IS AS THOUGH ONE NO LONGER SEES ANY PHYSICAL IMPERFECTION. I KNOW BECAUSE I WAS A PARALEGAL AND O CE WORKED FOR A VERY INTELLIGENT PATENT ATTORNEY IN THE USA. THE MOMENT I MET HIM TO HAND HIM MY RESUME, HE LOOKED UP AT ME HAVING SEVERE SCARS ALL OVER HIS FACE. I DID WONDER WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM. BUT AFTER A SHORT CONVERSATION I WAS MET WITH SUCH AN AMAZING KINDNESS, GRACE, AND EVERY ASSORTMENT AND IMAGINABLE HIGH QUALITY OF CHARACTER THAT TO THIS DAY IT IS STILL ENDLESS TO RELATE !!! HE WAS EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT HAVING 2 SEPARATE ENGINEERING DEGREES, HE WAS A GREAT ARTIST, WAS A LINGUIST (7 - 8 LANGUAGES), A LAW DEGREE PLUS IN AMERICA ONE HAS TO PASS THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND TRADEMARK EXAM TO PRACTICE PATENT LAW IN THAT COURT. THE MAN WAS JUST THE MOST PLEASANT HUMAN I BELIEVE I HAVE EVER KNOWN. HE MARRIED HIS PREVIOUS PARALEGAL AND HAD 3 BEAUTIFUL CHILDRE. AND WAS A WONDERFUL HUSBAND AND FATHER. HE TOO WAS INSPIRING.
very common, happened to myself.
Sounds like the best decision they could make for him. Maybe they did not have the introspection to know they were not equipped/qualified/intelligent/patient enough to raise this boy and left room for someone apparently incredible to raise him.
Its interesting how the more he talked the less i even noticed his appearance. Like hes such a warm, grounded, cool person

The more he talked the more I saw his appearance and accepted him for his character and appearance.
Being blind to his appearance isn't the goal, I hear you all though.
When he talked about girls daring other girls to ask him out is absolutely heart wrenching.
Coming from a position where I was bullied for a lot less, having been in the same situation with girls, i know how he felt at that time. It's terrible, it makes you feel like your entire existence is nothing but a joke for others.

Yes , lets not judge them for they obviously didnt feel they could cope , but you are so right , The adoptive Mother is one AMAZING WOMAN !!
No, let’s definitely draw attention to his cowardly birth parents. WTH? I think it’s quite easy to do both.
True
We can and should do both
I was thinking people should not have that option to reject the child however I fear his quality of life would have been impacted and I see the silver lining as a person whose parents also rejected them I feel he is owed a conversation, I did not have the challenges he had and that makes me feel in a way guilty for even being mad at any point, if my daughter had this condition I would love the shit outta her so she knows if we don’t have anyone she has me and that may not be enough but I would try my damnedest to make her feel special and loved,
I know we should also focus on the blessing but because of my Experiance it’s really hard to overlook and see someone Experiance the same
It was a blessed that they left him at the hospital. Because they could have hurt him or mistreat him .l am so glad that his adopt parents showed him love and kindness. He is a beautiful person inside out.

Their response is part of the problem with our Society. A shame so many feel so selfish, in so many ways.
I can't imagine having a child, abandoning them, and knowing they're existing in this cold world. That's insane.
Exactly.
And then rejecting him again when he reached out...that's just cruel.
@Gothboy Kurt - I knew a young girl with Treacher-Collins whose face was severely effected; she literally looked like a deer with a small mouth and practically non-existent jaw that thrust forward, no cheekbones, severe ear deformities, deafness, and non-verbal. She was removed from her parents because of neglect. She had been fed only applesauce (bad for her development). She never went to school or left the house. Now she was in school and although badly delayed from the neglect and lousy nutrition, her teacher thought that she would catch up eventually. She got a hearing aide and began to learn sign language Her nutrition was addressed. She was trached and a long term plan formulated for facial reconstruction. Best of all, like Mr Lancaster, she was adopted by a loving woman! I think of her often and hope she is well and happy.
I found my two sisters and brother on facebook 46 years after I was adopted by my mother, at this moment the two sisters have me blocked, one sister because I disagreed about criticizing our drug addict mother, and the other one I have no idea why.
They just werent up for the task. Maybe having a child was too difficult in the first place and when the child was not 'normal' it got way too real and hard for them. One thing the biological parents did wrong was not wishing he the best of luck in life and you know overall kindness towards him later when he reached them. They could have said that they weren't ready and its their fault and not his.
Very inspirational. His attitude toward his birth parents is incredible. Hope that he will find true happiness and love which he absolutely deserves to have.

What is more disgusting to me is making this decision within 36 hrs of birth. How on earth do you have a full pregnancy for 9 months with the intention of keeping the baby, to then changing your mind within not even 2 days... They didn't even try loving him.
@@suzanne8347 I felt everything he said, at least I hope. But human feelings aside their actions pretty understandable. Rejecting their babies are pretty common in nature. And who knows if his parents stayed with him they might both ended up in worse situations. I really want to think that the abandonment was actually good for him. Even rejection takes a lot of courage so I guess what I am trying to say is we can't take sides.
@@duugii1 Why have a kid when your not willing to take care of it lmao.. There's always that chance your kid will come out with a deformity, don't have a kid then. Pray to St.Margaret of Cortona he parents abondonded her due to her infirmities.
As a father, I cannot even comprehend leaving my child in the hospital regardless of disabilities. In fact, if my child was born with a disability I think that would’ve reinforced my protective and paternal instinct.
Likewise ...
My parents, especially my --- recently deceased --- mum, was terrible towards my younger, severely disabled, sister, and my self. The fact that I have never grown past 5'2" must have severely disappointed her ...
Yet, despite, or because, of both the abuse (including sexually, by our biological dad, a fact which mum tried to cover up right up past the point he pled guilty, and was sentenced to prison for nine years ...), I have an absolute, borderline ferocious, instinct of protecting my sister, part because of what I saw, part because of the guilt that that 14-21 year old me bares for not doing enough for her, and part because I don't ever want history to repeat itself ...
Currently I am not in a good place mentally, but that pales in comparison to what I see as the injustices in my mum's will towards my sister. Sadly, I am not an Executor, but I will go to court, if necessary, to ensure my sister's rights are protected, by me ...
Hence, even though she is my sister, there is far more of a paternal instinct I have, and always will, for reasons I can't explain, as I don't know ... but I know is there, and what makes me utterly believe you, in your words ...

I must be in dark days because I want them to hurt as much as they hurt him. Twice! They obviously never grew as humans over the years. Very bad people!
Abortion is evil, harassment is evil, yet you judge people for giving kid for adoption. Please shut up.
In a way, his biological parents did him a favour by abandoning him - imagine how those toxic people would have treated him! He is so precious, and thank god he is nothing like his bio parents.
BooooOOOOM Jackpot,Exactly!!
Good thing they weren’t stupid enough to keep him only to neglect him and hate him unlike a bunch of parents who keep their kids when they don’t even want them instead of put them up for adoption. Seriously if you don’t want to be a parent then DON’T be a parent. Better to simply put the kid up for adoption with a high chance of a loving family wanting to take them in instead of being raised by horrible, neglectful biological parents.
The more I look at him, the more I realize how normal he actually is.
@5th Amendment I really doubt this person thought he was an alien... They are just making a point about prejudice and how easy it is for us to judge.

Yeah. Sometimes the most seemingly worse things that happen to us end up working out to be the best, making us stronger, more decent people.
I was gonna say this man is styling so hard. Hope I can dress that well one day.
I hope his birth parents see this video and see how much more beautiful this man is than they’ll ever be. What an awesome dude

Nothing wrong with his parents. They were just exhibiting evolutionary instincts. We can't expect everyone to rise up to the challenge.
@@Miquelalalaa whats the use of them breeding then? Still a sinful decesion. I had a son w/treacher Collins. I was just 21 and I loved my son, because he was mine. Sadly, his condition also included breathing problems. I lost my son on May 5th, 1993. He was just 20 days old. My husband and I had decided the night before he passed that we would not have any other children so we could dedicate ourselves to him. Our son, Kevin, would have turned 28 yrs old this year. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss him. My heart broke as I heard this story but am very proud of his endurance. Wish I could give him a strong hug. ❤️
I’m so sorry for your loss.

How unfortunate it is that we as a society, are so misguided about what real beauty is. This man is beautiful.
I don't think he's very attractive. I think that's kind of the point of this video.
@@pooppoop2767 Beautiful =/= Attractive
@@pooppoop2767 There is a huge difference between attractiveness and beauty, and there are multiple depths to beauty. You may have a beautiful face, or body, but you may not be beautiful, because of your personality, character or heart. Real character building happens through immense suffering. And this man has suffered more than most of us. and yet, he has a strong will and determination to survive and exist. That is beyond beautiful to me.
@@ryanvaze beauty is subjective and I disagree.
I don't glamorize or admire suffering.
I've suffered a great deal in my life as well and It has made me a worse person, it's made me bitter.
I think the comment section here is mostly being dishonest. They don't ever show interviews of disfigured people who are angry, or depressed.
They always paint a feel good narrative of triumph despite your adversity, but that's not how people are.
Nobody wants to know about the deformed person who isn't happy. Nobody wants to know about the amputee who isn't grateful to be alive.
It annoys me.
I've never been interview or asked how I'm coping, because I'm not, nobody cares.
@@pooppoop2767 that’s valid! I don’t understand your objection though. Ryan was talking about beauty in persevering thru adversity. Are you saying there’s beauty in despair?

There's is nothing wrong with this man, there is something wrong with the people who make fun of him and the parents who abandoned him. He is a better person than they will ever be

Look your speaking out of your current perception. You need to have the ability of empathy and imagination. Maybe his parents were what were your saying or maybe something else went on of which you had no knowledge.
It's sad how talk cheap is when you refuse to stand in the shoes of the person you judge.
Fact is you don't know. Time is timed perfectly by the hand of destiny. He's the best version of himself NOW. Don't expect most people to understand and that's ok.

While you’re good for having compassion for him, don’t forget your own struggles dude. Everyone has problems and they’re not to be dismissed easily. Rich people get depression, homeless people think the world came together having a safe and warm place to sleep for one night. I get the comparison though, all I’m saying is your struggles are valid. Only time they aren’t is if you complain with no real effort to try and get better.
“My parents did what they felt was best for them and I respect that” I bursted into tears! I know for a FACT I would not feel this way. I really wish I had a heart like this.
It's a very forgiving stance, but in other words, they acted selfishly. Parental selfishness is inexcusable - why have children to abandon them? It's not respectable.
Remember that for a mother to abandon a child like that. its takes a disturbed soul. He has become detached from the situation emotionally that he can move past it
@@pamfan221 it would be better if they kept him and he would be hated all his life?
@@aanimavilis1492 Of course it wouldn't be better for them to hate him while keeping him. And of course I understand that he's forgiven them so that he himself can move on. My point is that the act itself is not respectable. It was selfish and shameful. Which is why I wouldn't want to have a "heart like this". If I were him, I would accept that I was done an injustice and move on, not empathize with the parents like this who didn't uphold their responsibility towards their child.
When you forgive others of their trespasses against you
You take their power over you away from them and claim it for yourself
