A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl born with a rare craniofacial disorder is navigating the world with the help of her father, who was diagnosed with the same condition. Duane, aged 36, and his daughter Ariasha, aged five, have Treacher Collins Syndrome, which affects the development of facial bones and tissue. Duane has no ears or cheekbones and wears prosthetic ears. As a result of the condition, both Duane and Ariasha live with hearing loss and have worn hearing aids almost their entire lives. Ariasha's mother, Becky, now aims to bring hope to families facing a challenging diagnosis of a new baby by writing an educational children's book 'Asha's Little Ears', and by selling custom headbands that support bone-anchored hearing aids.

Look at his quality of life; seems pretty good to me! Society can be unkind and make everyone feel like they shouldn't exist to some extent. That's why you ignore that voice and live your life. I'm sure she can have a happy life filled with love, already starting with a supportive family (something many people don't have).

What a sincerely loving family!! It's so refreshing to see such actively engaged parents that are setting an amazing example for their children!! With that type of foundation, both of these beautiful little girls will no doubt flourish

What a sweet, healthy family. I literally do not see anything “weird” or “different” here. I see nothing but love and happiness, a bit of snark ness and sarcasm and I’m living for it.
