Great instructional video! I’m rebuilding the padding on my stock ‘08 DR650 seat using SunMate foams but I’ve never modified a moto seat before so this walk through (sans talking) was very helpful! I don’t have an industrial sewing machine so that’ll be interesting to figure out, glad I can hand stitch 🤞🏼
'too damm cool. And all without trying to be a comedian or Tom Cruise. I've always seen a few holes in the plywood base to let the air escape when sitting on it. 'good cameraman and the Editing Dept. gets an A+ thanks.
Turned out real nice man! I'm just starting to mess with making mini bike seats. Still only doing the 1 peice material stretch deal but they're getting better. Have folds on the back of the seat but I try and use material that'll help camouflage it. Lats one I did was vinyl "snakskin" gonna start playing with a sewing machine soon. Where did you find the right density seat foam? That's my biggest issue. A lot of my early one were too soft. All the best to you man
good luck doing with a 80$ machines from Walmart.. if I had a industrial machine I would diy this bike seat & more, even leaving room sofas set .. piece of cake . I'll do a first DIY video showing how to do this with regular 50$ sewing machine ..! good job ,great video !
great job!a small tip: if you put a few treads through the outer skin, on the line that had to bend/fold, at the back(for leaning I guess), and you pull those treads through the foam and wood so you could pull it down and fasten(staple) it behind the wood, then you would have had a tighter fit over the foam. But I think the way it turned out now, is more beautiful than that would have been. I like your video very much
+sixtyfiveford Yeah I broke, fixed and broke again several older home machines before breaking down and buying a real machine, it should pay for itself I hope.
Hi, we love your video. With your permission, we'd like to post this on our social media pages and credit you / link your account. Please let me know. Thanks.
The machine he is using is a reliable barracuda it is identical to the sailrite is built by the same manufacturer not a Chinese knock off is considerably less then the sailrite. All sailrite parts and accessories fit it.
Bruhhh..😲 beautiful upholstery. Some artistry right there.. 🔥
Thanks, exactly the motivation I needed for my own minibike seat project!!

How can I send you my seat & get it done?
this is amazing you did great! what's the red part you put around the seat called?
Cody Duvall its called piping
that came out perfect
Well that turned out badass! I've dabbled in upholstery, it's always fun but I push my non upholstery sewing machine to the brink of destruction.
+sixtyfiveford Yeah I broke, fixed and broke again several older home machines before breaking down and buying a real machine, it should pay for itself I hope.
You make it look easy LOL
That's a bad ass seat! What's the top of the seat? The grey looks like headliner and the sides vinyl.
It's called spra trexx it's a textured marine vinyl, it has more grip sometimes I use it on dirt bike seats.
could you plz tell what size thread you used on your minibike seat ?
I used T70 on this seat.

The sailrite machines are a chinese knock off of a Thompson, every machine of this type made today is a chinese knock off.
Can you make me one 16"×6" just like that one u made, ill pay a reasonable price!
very nice
awesome thank you
Nice craftsmanship brother
Great job
Доброе время суток.скажите ,что у вас за машинка?
What materials you used for this seat?
Good job
You missed the most important aesthetic part - how you embossed the diamonds. You show the lines, and then jump to sewing. :(
hi
what's the model of your sewing machine ?
good old 3-4-5 right angle
Should have showed how you fastened it, otherwise good vid.
no le quedo bien porque del bies rigido hay que unirlo con un poco de bies blando para que no se abra, se va a romper
is that a Casio F-91W?
EXCELENTE FICOU PERFEITO E PARABÉNS
what is the name of your machine?
well done
Good job, 👏🏻👏🏻
What kind of foam did you sew onto the top layer for the diamond pattern.
I used two layers of headliner foam.
3/16 inch? Thanks for getting back with me. I want to make a seat for my cb250.
