I really saw us making a good couple at the time. But when I expressed my feelings, she didn't feel the same.
she respectfully declined, and we remained good friends.

He explained that he's saving his money to buy his own house and Not waste money renting like a lot of other people do = Smart - Practical. Plus it is stupid to assume that he lives w/ both 'parents' prob. just shares the expenses of the house with one parent.
