Good review. I am an avid sailor and really enjoy this sim. Wish someone would make a SailGP wheel with the twist grips so you could steer and control the foils with one hand.
Thanks. Waves are implemented in the game, they might not be 100% fully implemented however? Or perhaps it might just be because of the location they have more protection against waves?
This review did not answer any of the key questions I hoped it to: 1. How accurately does it simulate the racing rules of sailing? Pretty graphics are nice but accurately modeling the real sport is what real sailors will care about 2. How does it compare to the top current sailing simulator, VRI, and what many sailors consider the all time GOAT, SailX (RIP), in terms of RRS modeling, wind pattern modeling, etc
Ahhh a properly formulated question this time, bravo I shall endeavour to answer you as best I can; 1) 7:05 Very close to the spot on realism you would expect from a Sim. Furthermore the physics are really decent too. 2) Honestly haven't played any of those....adding them to my list...BUT this is Proper Realistic and Very good fun. 3) As this review was made a while back (Hence the Early Access in title) I suspect it has improved quite a bit too....Been meaning to jump back in.
@@SimUKReviews yikes do you talk to people like that IRL? I didn't mean to trash your review, but its frustrating that apparently I need to "see between the lines" (whatever that means) to learn how this game would appeal to real sailors. I'll chalk it up to you having a bad day and refrain from downvoting your video.. or upvote if you are willing to actually address my questions... cheers kind sir.
@@SimUKReviews the realistic physics are cool, but this isn't whats important for a sailing simulator. sailboat racing is a game with a nuanced (sometimes overcomplicated tbh) rulebook, and being able to model the chess games of fleet management, using the rules to your advantage, and using the wind shifts to your advantage, are what will get sailors online, even if it were only 8bit
Very bad day indeed, in lots of pain also....the issue is. This was an Early access review......what you're failing to understand is this is not a full review, so how could the answers to all your questions be in it.....?

Thanks.
Actually...the dev has.

Good review. Thanks.
Wouldn't that much wind would be kicking up some waves?
Thanks.

Fun fact for Nerds: This game is written in Rust.
That is a fun fact
Graphics look really good.
Where's the women and cocktails? Or is that a different sort of boat I'm thinking of?
You have to Win for that kind of reward ;-)

Then your inability to see what is said between the lines merely hyphenates your lack of intelligence perhaps?
Would you like me to grab some crayons?
