Honestly the gamescom event disappointed me because everyone there was just trying to build a "meme city". It's going to be cool seeing Dylan actually play the game and try to build something nice. Hyped for this.
@@PenitusVox My question is why the hell is nobody trying to play with the highways and what you can do with them, i just see people trying to build grids but ive yet to see someone try building some more complex intersections
@@PenitusVox I would say the more serious CS specific UA-camrs would be good to check out if you want more serious builds as well. Two Dollars Twenty is a great one I'd recommend. He actually built the Big City from all of the CS2 Dev Diaries. City Planner Plays is great, he's following a old real life Master Plan for a town in his build. Infrastructurist also has a great build going on. Others I would just throw out there: Overcharged Egg, Few Candy, YUMBL. These are generally SOME (There are a lot more but I already feel this is a long comment) of the main names in the Cities: Skylines community, and generally they take the game far more serious than just some random big name youtuber Paradox wants to market the game.
@@meowritz It's probably because people uploading videos have only been allowed to play up to Grand Village. There's really not much need for highways at that point. I do want to see what people can do with it though.
I think a pen tool for accessories would be cool, so like you could set a line whether it be straight or curvy or sharp just any kind of line, and then you could set the different things you want like different trees or bushes, and you could set the distance between them and the density and thickness of the accessories placed, the randomness of placement and change the order they're placed and stuff like that, I feel like that would be a really nice quality of life feature.

27:10 You've put those houses on a mile-long dead end, this is why they can't reach all your city services in a reasonable time. A short pedestrian path at the end of the road would have solved the issue. :)
I think we need smaller versions of all the buildings. As much as i love the big cemetery, i also believe that we need a smaller version, if you want to make some smaller urban areas.
more like a small cemetery with limited capacity (let's say 50.000) which could be upgraded and make it bigger if you want ot just make another cemetery in another zone... like taking the cemetery from CS1 and upgrade it to make it similar to CS2
I'm really not sure how I feel about how City Milestones work. That should really be based around population as a priority as well as other things like what services are available. The development tech tree does makes sense, it's an interesting way to do it and adds a more thoughtful aspect to it since they aren't automatically given with the milestone. I do like that aspect of planning and direction. I'm really loving the upgrade-ability of buildings too.
started watching you from the first vanilla series and always was magnetised to your personality, I was 13 back then and now I'm 18. still here with you
Dudeeee I used to watch ur cities skylines videos like 4 years ago and just randomly learned there was a second one. Immediately had to find your channel and watch u work your magic
I really love layout of this city and I guess I'll use this "near-cemetery" parks idea and services on pedestrian roads when I get to play this game. But (you probably already know about that) you don't need fertile land for livestock farms and ore deposits for stone mining. Both can be placed anywhere on a map/
I have been absolutely train, bike, and Overall public transportation pilled and really can't wait for this game to come out to try and make a 15 minute city. If I can't have one in the U.S. I'll have one in a video game.
At first I tought it was a bit too similar to the current game, but damn, those building upgrade mechanics are looking THICC...I also like the improved road building/upgrading mechanics a lot...maybe my traffic won't be a mess this time. (It definitely will)
I've always found it strange that you can't put buildings at the corner of the road, like my house is at the corner of a road so it's just weird seeing the corner just empty
Honestly haven’t played Cities: Skylines in a couple of years and had forgotten about it but used to love it. I didn’t even realize they were releasing a 2nd! Now I’m really excited. I can’t wait for this series.
Animal Husbandary and Stone Masonary do not need the Special Spots on the Map to Work. Only the ones that really need it (basically the rest of the special industry)
I remember watching you play cities skylines when I was many many years younger and nothing really felt the same until this. I am so excited to watch this series and for cities skylines 2
One thing that I realised, is that we start with A LOT more money, it's pretty much impossible to run in to the problem of not having enough budget, 500k you can start already designing the perfect city, put all the stuff you need and just sit back and wait, with 80k (That if i'm not mistaken is what we started in CS1) we had enough to get the city going, and still have to plan out with budget, we have to worry less about how you're spending your money, wich I don't like it.
I wish the cemetery had the option like the garbage and farming so you could do the zone outline and it will fill it as needed instead of a set square. Outside of some big cities, most cemeteries use whatever land is available which is rarely a square plot of land.
True City Terrain! if we can get this in this game I think it would be a well awarded addition to the game everyone would get a huge kick out of . who wouldn't want to try and build the city where they live. or even try to build a city they think better suits the founding area. you have some pull with these guys, you could say something in the next video? Plese😅
I'm a big Biffa fan when it comes to CS, maybe because he British like me, I'm Scottish though lol, but I think I prefer your pre game content to Biffas at the moment, as you have more variety in your starting city, compared to Biffa, and it looks amazing, especially with your graveyard. I can't wait till this hits Steam for everyone to play.
Howdie Conflict, from Allenstown, NH. where it's calm before the storm lol. But not Hurricane Lee yet. That'll be Saturday for New Hampshire & New England area.
A problem for me with the road tools are that there isn’t anymore the roads where trees are in the middlem of the streets in the game. That’s a little bit sad because i used to love these roads
Just wait till I come out with my pavement mod. Yes, you too can cover entire map with nothing but pavement. Not even driveable road, not parking, nope, not walking on, just pavement, and nobody around to mess with it. Ahhhh paradise. Ok maybe a seagull.
At the start, you shouldn't be needing the power station, just connect it to the high voltage lines. Yes you pay for import, but at the start the amount should be manageable and more economic as building a new station.
I pre-ordered the game, and I am SUPER excited to play after watching this video! The realistic features and the infinite amount of customization is SO COOL!
Ahhh finally someone who got a key for the game that wants to play it for real and show it off to folks who have been eagerly waiting, instead of just abusing the game or trying to make some meme or clickbait city.
It's vierd that 112, 224, 336, 448 measurements work... The zone squares seem to be 7,5 x 7,5 meters and the standard size roads 15 meters... So the width of 6 x 6 zone squares plus 2 roads, would add up to 112,5 x 112,5 meters, witch would be rounded up and displayed as 113 meters.
Was the chapel an accessory to the graveyard? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a chapel that required you to walk through the graveyard from the parking lot. Grandma gets to see all her friends on Sunday! 😂
@@yvrelna in my small town area, its the other way around. The chapel had the graveyard attached. You didn't have to walk through the graveyard to get to the chapel though lol
Do you have to place the upgrades directly attached to the parent building? Or can you place the chapel and/or mausoleum close by not not directly connected? It would be nice if you can do the latter since that's how it is in real life a lot of times :)
I wish you could pre-put buildings down without paying for them so that they can have space saved for them, but you don't have to pay until you have the money. You know, like a planning phase.
So... this is when Cities Skylines makes love with some of the features of SimCity 2013, and has many popular mods from CS1. Shut up and take my money, Colossal Order!
