- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 1986 Chevrolet Silverado C30 Dually. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
This is almost my dream truck.
All it's missing is 4wd, and a manual transmission
Then get a K30. C30s are 2wd, K30s are 4wd
@@knowitall-chevrolet4229 Yep, I know.
BTW since I posted this comment, I found and purchased my dream truck.
I found a 1983 K30 dually crew cab, with the 6.2 diesel and the sm465 manual transmission.
@@connorbunch3577 nice! Did u love it?
@@joenest7769 Yep, it's perfect for me. I was looking for an incredibly long time before I was able to find a truck that had everything on my wish list. Right now the truck is sitting, and I'm saving up the funds to get it road worthy.
Pretty sure this truck runs on pure American freedom.
+Matthew Klippert and it got unfreedom'ed by coldplay...
lol
Matthew Klippert no it runs on the devils piss
It runs on bald eagles and beer
Matthew Klippert something the U.S. is severely lacking
Don't be fooled by the look of this truck. It may be rusty and not pretty on the outside but the inside is clean and these Chevy motors just don't die. Very well built motors.
This truck will outlast any new one... And I'd take it over any new one!
Fat Max it’s because it’s a REAL truck
Well this one didn’t last. It’s running on seven cylinders in this video lol
Literally my dream truck
I've always liked these style trucks... Classics! :D
Literally a tank truck lol
White Crown It’s the Volvo equivalent of a pick up truck
Dodge is better :3
This is the meanest and scariest looking American truck. Would be terrifying to chase someone at night with this thing
gives me the creeps just looking at this thing
Numan Gun i wish it was in the newest mad max, i think it could fit
Well. what if a meaner and a more scarier pickup like a lifted Dodge Ram 3500 from the 70's and 80's hit a pedestrian and drove off. Wouldn't that be more scary?
Numan Gun I bet you this is what the killer clowns are using as their car
Numan Gun or just drive it around in Europe to scare them. Just seeing a vehicle that big would give them heart attacks
The truck is hungry, feed it more FREEDOM!
MuslamicRayGunGuy nah feed it a Prius
Feed it zombies
Joseph78018 That thing probably would have no problem with that
Silas McGee true
Joseph78018 damn thing probably drink Zombie blood for breakfast for crying out loud
Its hungry feed it a prius
Hell ya!
ManyRadomThings might have to dislocate a few parts to a fit Odyssey in there
Or just take the minivan apart
No problem
A Isuzu will get up and go
i wish chevy would bring back that burgundy interior as a color option on higher trims for their vehicles, always loved that.
This body style looks awesome with the bull bar on the front.
Environment: *exists*
This truck: I'm about to end this man's whole career
I gotta give it to ya chevy, Yall made a nice bench seat until 1998. The one in my 92 1500 Is comfortable as hell
yess my dad has a silverado 2500 hd diesel n the seats are not as comfortable as the 92 gmc. the 92 gmc rides really smoothly its feels good to drive n maybe it even has better seats then now days cars
Make the '80s Great Again! I love this. Proud to be an American as well.
Epa rating 2mpg highway
Max Bettencourt ***** wait whoa whoa whoa whoa, so its miles PER gallon? Thought it was gallons per mile on this thing lol
Ryan Titchell Nice one
Semi's get better than that. Albeit not by much.
David. Pritchard. Jr,
My '88 crew cab dually with the 454 and auto was good for 6 mpg. City, highway, loaded, empty. 6.
It was converted to a 5-speed stick several years ago and it was good for about 8.
I'd drive it. Plus it has one the smoothest idles I think I've ever heard from a carbureted engine.
this is the type of vehicle that would be possessed some sort of evil spirit, while chasing you down to your death on some isolated, dark and windy road at night. Either way, what a beast! I was 5 years old in 1986, and a truck like this was my dream car when I was that age. :)
If one was to make Christine again, this truck would be a good villain.
Yeah for sure, this is straight outta a made for TV movie such as 'Wheels of Terror' [1990]. Basically it's not a good nor nice person's truck 😂
It’s amazing how far these trucks have come, but still love these.
The sound! Oh my god this truck sounds insane!
Back when a truck was a truck
Like a rock.
james myers With modern trucks, I love the increased luxury, but they suck with sound. I love the older trucks and wish they still were being made.
Russell Thompson I agree
George GMC Sierra Denali The older trucks are great looking, better sounding than the modern trucks, etc, etc, etc.
Russell Thompson this is why i like old trucks. Not the best interior and tech, but i love the quality of the trucks and the sound:) pure american.
I'm a sucker for red interiors, I think it comes from my dads old K5 blazer (RIP, dads blazer) it had a red interior and I loved it, I think it was an '85
the 454 is indeed one of the best workhorse engines of GM's history
I want to believe you, but I looked at the average fuel consumption and 30L/100km is literally insane. I don't know if Germany ever produced a car that consumed that much fuel, even being a Bugatti Chiron. It's a car/Pickup with the consumption of a real truck without being a real truck. I mean, even our german trucks are more fuel efficient since the 70s. Take the Mercedes LP 1626 from 1965 with a 12L V8 Diesel and 256PS. It consumes on average 39L/100km with a weight of 18t maximum. And here you have a 20 years younger 4,2t Pickup with a 12hp 7,4L V8 consuming 30L. That is insane.
Mind you I'm about to buy one with the 6.2 in change for our immaculate GMC V1500 305
I'm 36 but I remember seeing these when I was 3 or 4. They were at county fairs and dog shows I attended and often came with their matching truck caps over the bed. Ford had their F-350 equivalent, but the '80-86 models are VERY rare. The '87 duallies and up were more common. Dodge never had a quad cab I think, but they had a bonus cab (smaller back seats that folded out, but not actual doors).
Wow that truck is in amazing shape
I'd trade a freakin lambo for that truck. So beautiful. I'd buy it if I ever went back to the states.
No no, sell the lambo, but this, and use the rest of the cash to make the truck exactly how you want it.
He'll yeah lol
+Justin Noker or to buy gas
@justin noker It's already exactly how it's supposed to be, even the broken glove box, perfectly flawed. I'd rather spend the rest of the money on other stuff.
Jesus Christ You be spending more money feeding the fucking thing gas then you would buying parts for it just to keep it running
This is the sort of thing you'd buy for the exhaust note alone. I have neighbors across the street that had TWO of these at one point, they loved them that much.
*Ay man we got us a real God Bless America kinda Chevy C30, right 'chyer!* This really is a beautiful truck!
Ended up buying an "87 (454 engine -Turbo 400 trans -Dana 70 rear with 4.10 gears)...what a great old truck ! My Crewcab Dually will pull anything I put behind it...and it just looks flat out cool doing it...
alex o'neal What did you pay for the 87 dually?
George GMC Sierra Denali This is the same model year as the truck in the video by Saabkyle04.
sounds nearly perfect. Gotta appreciate old v8’s.
Damn that dually sounds like a pure motorcycle I'm loving that classic vibe man.
Love this truck. Bonus "do it for Dale!" Sticker on the back window
this truck sounds amazing. I keep coming back to this video just because of the sound!
that is a sweet truck except for it probably gets like 4 miles to the gallon
Nick Simmons actually I looked it up
It gets about 12 witch isn’t any better
Silas McGee
Shame? A 2008 H2 does 16 to 18mpg.
@@vemcomachines9634
12 mpg driving conservatively.
Less than 3 mpg with the 4 barrel wide open.
It's actually kind of nice to see a stock truck with the air pump and egr still on it. IDK about you but I like the stock look.
I really love the sound of that truck.
just bought my dream truck, an 80's silverado 454 crew dually! Man i love these trucks! - 85 gmc sierra 454 crew dually dougs headers / magnaflow exhaust, chrome everywhere. gotta love these trucks.
I love the interior, especially with it being red and with the good old bench seats
It sucks not being able to see. I would buy that truck from you in a heartbeat. I love the sound of it. I have had a love for loud vehicles all my life, thanks to one trip to the Talladega 500. I would drive that truck everywhere.
He lost $100 in gas during this video
Gavin Puffer 7.4 liter engine
Gavin Puffer
Unfunny joke is unfunny.
But grew 3" and a mustache
Gavin Puffer so what
Gavin Puffer your buddies drive civics stfu
This is now my dream truck
It is
Those little revs at the first start took 3/4 tank of gas lol. Nice truck though
yeah pure american freedom, not enough oil in the world for american V8 appetite.
+TommyTheNightmareSmith I'm really fucking tired of seeing you comment pure hate on a 6th gen big block
+Jack Carroll just ignore him man.. I'm sure his dad is proud of him of becoming the little bitch he became.
just wait for 27.9.2016. and you will find out for yourself how expensive gasoline can be.
Pretty sure theirs only 12 months out of the year. You got your dates mixed up. Should be 9-27-2016 but I guess my IQ is low... XD
my stepdads suburban has the same motor and hearing that beast turn over is awesome.
911,640 miles and counting :)
the exhaust on that thing sounds damn good
My dad owned one of these, except it was a manual, and my mom would always take the truck to work, especially if she was running late because she just loved driving the truck. She got lots of speeding tickets in it haha
Love the sound of it sounds like a motorcycle!
Boy does this bring back memories. We had a 1985 Silverado Crew Cab Dually with a 454-V8. It was a monster with a monster appettite, lol.
Dream truck right there
did you get one? these are cheap
Lol this car looks like "zombie apocalypse" car.
the walking dead!
I don't see any cars in this video.
in appearance .....
@@jacobturner6646 a truck is a car. A car is just something on wheels that has a motor
that thing sounds awesome
My Dad had trucks like that back in the 80's when he was in construction. They had 4 speed manuals. I'd give anything to find one and go on a road trip with him back to where I grew up
Very fancy for a work truck, would be hard to keep it looking plush on construction work.
Sounds like 'murica
I'm becoming a pretty big fan of your channel, sir. My favorite video is the one where you installed the dual exhaust on your grandpapa's car. I could tell by the sound of his voice he was a happy man. I am visually impaired, but I sure do love the way these older cars you're starting up sound. I'm also a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, so if I could see to drive, I would have me a fully restored 70s Chevrolet to go and preach the word in. I love classic cars. Keep up the good work.
6:27
You are one of only a handful of people who have listened to Coldplay in a 1986 dually Chevy pickup. . . . haha
When I was little my Grandma had a Blazer of this era, and when she replaced it with a 96 Tahoe, I refused to ride in it until a few weeks later because I wanted the old Blazer back :P I don't remember any of that, but it's a funny story :D Anyway, great video as always!
Shouldiv took it for a drive, rather hear it drive than rev
Acnologia If that was parked outside my house and revving was all it was doing I’d be OK with it
With that exhaust sound I would sit in the back and sit there and listen to it Rev till it sucks The tank dry
Folks Don’t turn the wheel until the motor is running - that’s hard on it. Ideally, best to wait until vehicle is moving, even slowly.
Beautiful truck.
Bring ‘em back, GM
1:07 sounds like pure American V8 power!!
Thank you for the exhaust clip. I can literally smell this video. The interior, the exhaust and leaking oil. Ahh to be back in 86 again.
Wow, the idle sure is low on that one!
And I thought I was the only one who noticed it? You are right, the idle on that truck is a bit slow.
Love this video, i've got the same truck except its not a cab. Mine just fits three, But what i love most about it is just how loud it is and how smooth it runs.
it sounds beast
I keep coming back to this video this truck is so awesome
That is awesome! I love those old Chevy gassers. Great video.
If I were to win the lottery. A truck like this would be the first on my list.
This truck is creepy a.f 😂 Right down to that engine note **shudders** 80s horror movie vibes!
I had the exact same truck only mine was an 1983. Also was maroon red, ended up getting a 1997 Red Chevy Dually....my personal favorite. They don't build them like that anymore. I remember moving a giant palm tree with mine. Those trucks were unstopable.....bad mpg, I remember but still a great truck.
epic truck for post apocalypse
Im in love with this truck 😍😍😍😍😍😍.
6:23 - Coldplay's "Viva La Vida"
When you turned on the radio the song was beautiful
sweet truck, I would need a 4x4 though where I live, especially in the winters
I didn't even realize it was only 2wd nice catch
knifeknut0414 i got a 87 K10 if interested let me know.
Actually in the snow 2wd is possible just more difficult
@@Coronet_shop
Lucky.
@@skeetorkiftwon definitely am
I tell you Baby this truck sounds BBBAAAAD TO THE BONE!!!! I just love the healthy GRUNT & ROAR of that big ol' 454!!! 100% Pure American Muscle Baby!!! I have a buddy who has a '77 GMC Sierra Classic 454 Crew Cab Dually that he bought new and he uses to go camping, He has a 14 foot Arctic Fox camper on it, He had 3 inch chrome pipes and Cherry Bomb glasspacks installed, He lets me drive it quite often.
built chevy tough, the most dependable trucks on the road
junebugfan88 Chevy like a rock
Gavin Graham As long as you don’t veer too far into the 2000s then they start to suck
Build Chevy tough is not make sense built Ford tough make sense
Anthony Cach actually they suck so only Chevy strictly counts here if you want to say that go to a Ford video
That and Chevy's tagline is built *like a rock* which also only applies here
I gotta brainwash my girlfriend into thinking that classic truck is better before I can get this truck! That 7.4 is a beast!
I'm not suprised that the fule gauge is the same size as tachometer XD
thats not the tachometer thats the speed gauge
Nobody wants to see all that anyway, just enjoy it till you wince at the pump.
80s. The best decade of American cars.
Linda! Carros dos sonhos !
Love those older Chevies! Great vid as always Kyle!
America......Fuck yeah!!!
That truck has one of the strongest drivetrains put into a pickup. Turbo400 transmissions are bulletproof, 1 ton 14 bolt full floater rear axle with a 4 bolt 454. Can't get any stronger unless you go to industrial sizes.
it has safety it has seat belts any new car against this Truck would be crushed by this bad ass truck I still like it.
Seatlbets were, made in cars in 1965 by the 80s it was madoraty to wear them
This to me is a pure American muscle truck I dream of having this as my truck THIS was the age of when trucks were REAL trucks
I like the old Chevy diesels
So do I.
7Risen7Phoenix7 I don't like duramax
It a gas engine 454
jhoff1804 hell fuckin yeah
jhoff1804
Except this isn't a diesel.
much features for such a year!!! BEAUTIFUL!!
I came when it started
Dirk Odinsson .....ok
this is the truck i always wanted
Bad ass fucking truck
i just love Older GM trucks in general....the new generation of them is nice but the old school ones always have a place to me.
Looks like 550065 miles on that thing.
Wouldn't be suprised these things are freakin bulletproof
Ryan Titchell Back when Chevrolet Trucks were built with great quality, good engines and a badass attitude.
Nicholas Zhuravlyov Now its just plastic everything and broken tie rods lol, (no offense to chevy, they do make some cool cars)
Ryan Titchell yeah back in the fucking 90s and before they haven’t made cool cars worthwhile since
Maybe for a few 2000s exceptions
Love the Sound of the beast and really like the updated wheels the rest just needed a slight bit of TLC Great truck!
all that and we didnt even go for a ride
I am just waiting for one of the older cars to overheat while doing the walk around. Love the vids keep them coming.
What a Mean Sounding Truck! Love it
Nice deep rumble at idle. A v8 squarebody chevy is my dream truck
very nice exhaust sound!
That's the truck I need for my camper!!!
Seriously looking to buy/trade. For such a truck.
There is no sound on earth better than the sound of a big block V8!!!
what a nice time capsule, as good as a 24 year old truck you can find
I now it’s nice it’s junk now put led lights or something 🙄
Also, the 2WD version came standard with a 3.55.1rear axle with open diff, had a turbo 400 that took so much torque to turn, you needed the 454 lol, had 2 extra leafs springs to accomidate more weight, and a 454 that was torque, but Ford's gas 444v8 had 395 lb ft flywheel, and 362 lb ft at the wheels, and could tow about 2000 more lb, it had the C6 tranny, that also took a heck of a lot to turn, but it also has more torque at the flywheel, which means i didn't matter ( still had more the chevy )
you should of revved it fully down once gosh that sounded awesome
Thanks for the tour buddy....looking at one of these soon...gives me an idea of the setup...
Back in the 70s and 80s, Silverado represents the top trim of Chevrolet Trucks. In the middle is Scottsdale while Custom Deluxe is at the bottom. I bet the engine is a 454 hooked to a THM-400 3 speed auto.
