Formed in Wolverhampton in 1966, Slade's chart career spanned 3 decades. Slade were unstoppable throughout the seventies becoming one of Europe's biggest bands, releasing 6 smash hit albums, including three No-1’s, and their hit singles are synonymous with the era. The sensational songwriting partnership of Noddy Holder and Jim Lea provided a soundtrack to the Glam Generation and with a run of 17 consecutive Top 20 singles between 1971 and 1976, no other act of the period experienced such success.
In the eighties Slade enjoyed a renaissance, buoyed by a spectacular appearance at the Reading Festival in 1980, their hits included “My oh My”, which reached number 2 in 1983 and a year later with “Run Runaway”, cementing their legacy as one of the UK’s greatest bands.

An amazingly good song - could've be on Flame, has that feel to it. Loved it back then, and to this day.
Wonderful track by the greatest black country rockers.
The depth of Slade’s music and songwriting was awesome. Honestly I consider these guys to easily be on a level with the Beatles .

Takes be back their Aylesbury concert in late 70s. What a night , small venue the full slade volume, took me more than a week to hear again. But well worthwhile, best live act ever

They had no promotion budget except live gigs and no airplay in UK at the time
It's what happens when you turn your back on your real fan base and disappear for two years to chase the american dollar and fail miserably then come home wearing american garb and singing about powdering your nose in California. They blew it and were only rescued by Ozzy pulling out of Reading. 😊
