We love you Mike, you sound like you haven’t missed a beat, just amazing! Thank you for all you’re doing to help advance the understanding and improved treatments for CTE and traumatic brain injuries.
Mike still looks so young! I hate he's dealing with PTE and CTE. People just think the world of him. And although he has been diagnosed with CTE, he's still pretty sharp.
I was blessed and lucky enough to have Mike as a counselor at Camp Deerhorn in Rhinelander WI as a kid - he was, and still is a huge inspiration to me. @CureEpilepsy - I've tried to reach out a few times to re-connect, but not yet. Perhaps you can assist. Thank you!
How would I be able to get my husband checked for this. Give you a little back story. He was in the military, got hit by a carrier door. Got seizures two weeks after. Has fallen from the seizures. He has hit his head multiple times thru the years.
Your husband should see a neurologist as soon as possible. From your description it could be Post Traumatic Epilepsy (PTE) as a result of a traumatic brain injury. A neurologist can conduct tests, including an EEG, to help determine if your husband has epilepsy and what the course of treatment might be. We have done several Seizing Life episodes with military veterans who have developed PTE as the result of a traumatic brain injury. You can find out more about PTE and TBI on the CURE Epilepsy website here: www.cureepilepsy.org/signature_programs/post-traumatic-epilepsy-overview/
What i find VERY interesting (and please correct me if im wrong) but CTE is technically something you can only be diagnosed with AFTER you pass away, you dont normally get diagnosed with it while you're still alive. So Mike maybe the first living human being to be diagnosed with this
Yes, you can only be diagnosed after you pass away. Adamle is showing signs of CTE, and there have been others before him that had shown signs as well, so he wouldn't be the first.

Breaks my heart to see this. I dated Mike back in the early 90s. He's a good guy.

What an inspiration! Hoping all the best for this fine gentleman.
Mike looked good there. He was a great athlete and broadcaster and is missed.

Sad cause for so long WWE fans crapped on him for mixing names up and stuff.
