I’ve been trying to find this game for so long, the memories..
I just bought it for 25 danish crowns... The equivalent of 4 US Dollars
And I'm so glad I did! I hope you've been able to track it down!

imagine i had the last of the series but had to sold it for like 10$ eahc i needed money at taht time 15 years ago XD now seeing the prices not a change im gonna get tekken 5 XGRA and FFX/X-2
It was insanely good me and my girlfriend at the time used to play this after nights out clubbing, felt so plugged into it at times and got a real buzz racing.
Came here to see if this game had some fans and im glad we are all on the same page. This game brings me back to simpler times. It was ahead of its time. The soundtrack is phenomenal. ps5 needs to not only release it on their console but remaster it. They could even make an arcade out of this game. Wish i could buy the rights to this and fable bc id be giving the people what they want !!
Dude if they made an arcade of this game, I'd play it more than Wangan midnight Maximum tune 5. It's that good.
@@comdrive3865 yeah i love this game im not sure of the game you speak of as i only played a handful of games. But yeah this as an arcade game or even on the iphone would be awesome.

I haven't played this game in years, but the one thing I remember about it is that the gameplay felt insanely fast.
We need a Ps4 version for this game. It was a true classic.

@@TucBroder the company who published the game went bankrupt in 2004 and sold the IP to a company who specializes in bringing old PC games to modern marketplaces like steam. So, we might eventually see a rerelease of the game, but definitely not a remaster or anything like that.

I just saw someone playing Extreme G Racing 2 on tiktok and A) I didn't even know they made an Extreme G Racing 2 and B) the graphics and HUD looked so bad compared to this lol

While I can appreciate how much smoother this ws than xgra, the xg series is not known for that. The first two games were filled with shit blowing up left and right at Mach speeds and I feel that xgra did a much better job at bringing that back. Plus, the soundtrack was fucking dope.
I wish they would make this again it was so fun. 😭 My brother and I would play this and he always won.

I remember I came first in every race and only ever bought engine upgrades but hit this point where couldn't keep up with the cpu and couldn't buy the next engine upgrade. Felt like a bad soft lock
Sort of like when they brought Road Rash to PC, 3DO and their first entry on PlayStation, this entry of Extreme G focused much more on racing and speed than combat aspects than earlier games, seems the combat was more of an afterthought

F-Zero's well known shield-or-boost mechanic is blatantly copied in this game.

Did this game do anything new besides combining the mechanics of other games?
@@amaulana090 Well XGIII had on board weapon systems with an ammunition pool, and you could actually exceed the sound barrier complete with sonic boom; the pre-race announcement was new for the genre. What was most unique was that you were racing a wheeled vehicle over a hovercraft so the game crafted a niche for itself in how it felt to control.
XGIII may have combined the mechanics of other games, but everything takes influence from everything and that's often for the better; there's no shame in taking something if it's a genuinely good mechanic or idea.

I was quite disappointed in this game after playing XG1 and 2. I hated the upgrade mechanic in between races. All bikes look the same with different colors and the soundtrack is quite bland.
Just look at the bike design of XG1, XG2 and listen to the XG2 (PC) soundtrack. You will see what i mean.
XGRA was like a return to form. More gritty, way better soundtrack and race tracks, but the effort and diversity in bike design never returned, unfortunately.
