You make this look soooo easy! I've done this for a couple of shawls, and it took forever. The video I had found didn't tell me to do reverse yarn overs for the knit stitches. Could that be why? I was having a horribly difficult time getting the two stitches over the most recently worked for some reason. I ended up basically needing to pull them off the needle one at a time, and it was still tricky/obnoxiously difficult.
I do the same, but only pass the yarn over before the purl stitch. That is every other stitch. Otherwise my bind off becomes too loose. I'm a loose knitter.
I love this bind off, it's amazing you can do it in pattern too... But........I've just discovered the "Chinese waitress" cast-on & cast-off!! I think it's also called double chain?? Maybe? (Can't cast-off on pattern, but it's still lovely), the cast-on is almost as stretchy as jeny's & it's not a longtail!!! 🙀 No more guessing &having too long of a tail!! (Honestly, I redo my cast-on of the tail is TOO long, I hate waste & ya never know when you might need those few inches).
This is my go to stretchy bind off that I’ve used on a good number of your patterns Here’s my favorite stretchy cast on Mama Christa’s Cast On from StevenBe ua-cam.com/video/bLBjK2oWMKI/v-deo.html

Is there a technique for working this bind off in the round that avoids a jog at the end?
Will this work with toe-up socks , thanks
He mentions at the start that you can use this method for the bind-off for toe-up socks. 😊
What about K2, P2 ribbing?
I think you just treat every knit stitch the same, so you would yarn over backwards for every knit and normal for every purl
