12:19 I feel like if I had watched this between episodes 2 & 3 (I only found your podcast like a week ago) I would agree a bit more, but I’m curious if your opinion has changed at all about the two hour episode, or the way it was edited, after we got another three hours of getting to know even more about Yanu-especially Bhanu.
20:49 My issue with the idol play is that to me it felt like they were just doing it to make “big move,” because Jess could’ve easily still played her sitd and then the idol. Especially when they made it so obvious it was a fake idol. She had 3 of her 4 tribe mates telling her she needed an idol because she wasn’t safe, and it’s like, if you’re concerned enough to help me get an idol why don’t you just not vote for me? Plus, the people who were in on the plan still had the majority of the votes, so if Jess had played her sitd and it hit, they could’ve just voted out Bhanu. If anything I would’ve saved the fake idol play until we were down to 4, because then your 3 person alliance would really be in trouble (they didn’t know Bhanu was gonna lose his vote). My issue with Kenzie and Tiff this episode was just that it felt like they were punching down when it came to Jess, because she wasn’t fighting back. But I also recognize that I’m biased towards Jess as a fellow neurodivergent person who has most likely been made fun of behind my back because of my disability.
“Villians have more fun” - Abi Maria. I swear every season of survivor the causal watchers of the show don’t realize the point of the game is the backstab and do whatever it takes to win. No matter who the person is, if they don’t serve a purpose to your game, get rid of them.
The reason they couldn’t put the puzzle together from one side was that the two end pieces were actually slightly inset into the base of the arch in a little hole with plastic walls. These walls would prevent the final piece from sliding in if everything else was lined up. You can see this in the challenge when the survivors are setting the side pieces
You could still build it all from one side, except for the last 2 pieces. Then put in the side piece, then the final piece is the second piece in from one of the sides. Would be much easier than trying to end in the middle.
Will has obviously never built a block arch at an science museum or elsewhere. You can’t apply the force to keep the middle top block in place, the angle is wrong. The middle top must always be put in last. Hunter the science teacher understood that.
I've done it before with other puzzle pieces. If the pieces are all exactly the same, which they appear to be here, then you can certainly build from one side. You just need to have pressure coming from multiple points along the arch. Maybe that wasn't clear enough, but if you have people along the way applying outward pressure at the proper angles, it can definitely be done.
I’m glad y’all are enjoying the season because all of the negative discourse surrounding the show no matter what happens is becoming tiresome. Sure, I have many gripes myself, but this is still quality tv and we should appreciate the fact it’s still kicking at this point. My current favorites are Venus, Tiffany, Q, Kenzie, Hunter, and Tevin. I need more time with the green tribe. Also really liked Jess despite her struggles, I’m drawn to her personality and calming voice lol.
@@survivorspecialiststhe editing was fantastic. Especially the scene when the building blocks were falling down and the slow losing violin music after the tribe lost.
no they would have still possibly lost the challenge with Jelinski charlie doesn't have great wingspan and is 5'10 not that tall and they still won, the comp was about team work and they were too focused on condemning jess instead of working together, they didn't even put jess on the right spot for the challenge she couldn't even reach.
I wish we got 2 hours later in the season instead of early in the season. Until a tribe votes, they aren't even really playing. That is why there were so many silly scenes going on instead of people talking game. An alliance isn't real until they vote.
I didn’t see it as bullying but as trying to embarrass someone, the same as Angelina did to Alison. I don’t mind “villain” strategy such as alliance flipping, bluffing, etc. but when it gets personal, it’s kind of gross.
I hear what you're saying, but I do think that they had to do this so that she wouldn't play the shot in the dark, so there was a strategic purpose behind their actions.
I enjoyed this episode and am enjoying this season. Glad I don’t look online cause it seems the response is negative. I’d agree some of the segments were drawn out like the Taylor Swift Metallica thing, but I’ll take that if it means I know wtf is going on, who people are and why people make the moves they do
Oh I disagree so much. The idol stuff, sure, I also think is just gameplay and sort of necessary with the shot in the dark out there. But getting personal on the confessionals felt very icky and unnecessary, saying she can't even spell perspective, is too dumb to spot the idol, yelling at the challenge, blaming it all on her.... that was pretty mean bullying to me. I don't need 'villains' like that. Gameplay villains, yes, steal, lie, manipulate, use people's own idols against themselves, that's all so fun. But calling names, getting personal ugh... hated the episode =/
No arguments about the confessional stuff. That didn't personally bother me, but if it bothered you it's totally understandable. A lot of the complaints that were being made were at the gameplay feeling mean-spirited and that just doesn't seem fair.
@@survivorspecialists Yeah I agree, I think maybe what caused the sentiment was that the idol stuff was being intercut with the confessionals and that might have soured 'the move' to people (it certainly did to me). But generally I love a good ol' fake idol play :)

She is giving the Elie Scott vibes from season 43 after the last episode in terms of hard gameplay early on. We will see if she will be able to reign it in and pull a bit of a Gabler.
