    Dislikes are pretty dumb... Change the tires. Turn savers have their purpose.
    Put your hands on the middle and grab both handles. You now have one have operation.
    Your not supposed to step on most decks

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  4 місяці тому +1

      I considered changing the tires, but there are some slopes, so I think it's important to have that grip. Also, the mower was already expensive. Changing tires would add more expense.
      One-handed operation just doesn't work for me. Part of it is the terrain. Some parts are pretty bumpy, especially when I'm zipping across it at 8 MPH.
      As for not stepping on the deck, it's not really a problem lately, but the main point there was all of the warning. I still don't feel too safe on this mower, not on the slopes, where the grass is spotty and the ground has some problems with erosion.

    That lawnmower is great I would get it if I had money and the video is great

      Last year I was using a manual reel mower. 😄
      The price range is extreme. I've seen the CrossoverT with 12 batteries for $7000. NOPE!
      Costco had a huge sale $800 off… on an already much lower price. Then there was another $300 off too, in an earlier sale, but I missed that.
      I'm not sure if I'd get it again though. I think a robot could handle the lawn. It just makes more sense. A lot less energy is used to move a small robot. 😄
      Greenworks mentioned a lawn robot at CES 2023… perhaps it was the Optimow AI RLM3 …but it didn't launch in time to maintain the new lawn. I'm not sure when (or even if) it will launch.

    There is a new Greenworks 80v 4AH battery that is the size of the 2Ah to fit into the snowblower's small battery compartment. $239 right now including a 770CFM leaf blower, cheaper than the battery itself!

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  4 місяці тому +1

      I got a Greenworks leaf blower partially because it was a cheap way to get batteries. 😄
      I saw that the new tools at Costco had somewhat different looking 80v batteries. I didn't really look close though, because I'm still using the battery included with the snowblower from two winters ago. I got the leaf blower around that time. Those batteries, leaf blower, and snowblower are all still good.
      The lawnmower is still good too. I used it earlier this week. It started right up. All I had to do was turn the key. That was so nice!
      I saw mention of an 80v Power Inverter from CES 2023. Unfortunately, I don't know when (or even if) Greenworks is going to launch it. That's too bad, as it would work great with all those lawnmower batteries.

    You are driving fast 😮

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  Рік тому +3

      It feels fast on the lawn mower - as it hits the bumps pretty hard. In a car, 8 MPH is slow. I read it's better to cut the grass slower though, so I try to mow in low speed. It feels safer and better for the lawn mower too. (Heh, but sometimes I get impatient.)

    Hand goes in the middle to hold both levers..plus you didn't even show the Reese hitch hook up in the front of mower for moving trailers or boats or anything bigger than a little mower trailer on the back. Great video tho!!

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  3 місяці тому +1

      Because so many people keep mentioning it, I was just trying one-handed driving again earlier today. There's a bit of a gap between the handles. Also, with the uneven terrain, it's too easy to get knocked off course.
      It's really quick mowing though, so one-handed driving is not much of an issue. I'd rather mow fast and be focused. If I had to pick a mower again today, I'd still choose the zero turn over the riding mower. The maneuverability is nice!
      …but I still feel like I should've gotten a robot.😄
      I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂

    Will you do a video on how to put the mulch cover on? Thanks!

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  2 місяці тому

      Hmm… that seems unlikely, since I had so much trouble putting it on in the first place. I remember being very confused by the bolts. 😄
      I am considering making a video about changing the gearbox oil though and a general follow-up video. That might not be for another year though, as I'm waiting for the hours of use number to reach 50. That might not happen this mowing season.

    Now I want to get a huge lawn so I have a reason to buy this thing. It looks fun.
    I wonder if a plow attachment is possible in winter.

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  Рік тому +2

      It wasn't fun in the mud, but overall it's been fun… one of the highlights of my summer. I'm still thinking of getting a lawn robot though.
      This lot is one acre lot, which is big enough to put distance between neighbors. That helps so I can sleep soundly at night, but not so big where it's isolated - friendly waves are important. 😄
      As for the plow attachment, it seems technically possible, but I don't think it's a good idea. The plows I looked at weren't cheap. Many were more expensive than my snow blower. Plus, I like how my snowblower chucks the snow over a long distance. That's nice for not forming huge mountains of snow at the end of my driveway.
      Also, if I break my snowblower, it's easier to get a replacement. If I break my lawnmower pushing snow, that's a problem for the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.

    • @nickabel8279
      @nickabel8279 4 місяці тому

      Def. Possible. Just need a plow with a hitch mount. You have a standard receiver on the front.
      Little creativity and you could put a snow blower on the front too

    If the Greenworks lawn mower came assembled,you’re complaints are with the store you bought it from,they arrive on a metal pallet,workers from the store assemble it,I got mine shipped directly to my home,there’s even a video on UA-cam for store workers,how to assemble the mower before delivery

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  3 місяці тому +1

      The part about the handles is not necessarily my complaint. It's what I saw in the Costco reviews… and it's what happened to me… but I actually enjoyed fixing that problem.

    I switched to a Kobalt (Mfg by Greenworks) 80V self-propelled walk-behind mower years ago because I found that the mower maintenance can be a fairly big hassle, not so much that it's difficult, but it's cumbersome to change the oil, and carburetors are a hassle if life interrupts your plans and you accidentally leave fuel in the machine over the winter and the carbs gum up with varnish.
    As far as wheel slip goes, a more aggressive tire might have been a better manufacturing choice, or maybe airing down the tires a bit for better grip in loose soil would be helpful.
    Has your lawn grown in yet? I'm wondering how it handles grass at normal density that's somewhat damp. My Kobalt has two design flaws in it, one with the deck lift mechanism that drags the ground when the deck is at maximum cutting height. The other is a serious tendency to have the deck clog up, even with discharge open, if there's any dampness to the lawn from dew or recent rain.
    That leads me to the third concern I have about a machine like this. Mine had warnings all over it about not getting it wet, but lawns are not a dry thing. This also made cleanup a hassle, and I'm wondering if they had the good sense to seal up the "dirty" parts so they're easier to clean up when needed. Nobody expects a spotless shed, but I do my best not to track in a lot of extra grass and mud, or whatever the dog left for me to scrape off the wheels.

      Currently, the lawnmower is not in use, as it's still Winter. I'm looking forward to using it again this year. It's been good. So far I'm happy that I got it, as I don't see any lawn robots I would get instead.
      Ironically, I will have to change the oil somewhat soon. After 50 hours of operation, it's recommended to change the gearbox oil.
      I did end up using the push mower late last season because I didn't want to use the riding lawnmower on such a squishy backyard. The lawn is still growing in, but looks somewhat better than when this video was made. I'm planning to throw down some more seed at the start of the season.
      The mower didn't seem to have trouble cutting through thick grass, as I have chopped down some pretty tall stuff with this riding mower. However, it doesn't mulch leaves as well as I thought it would. It doesn't have the same lift as the previous Greenworks lawnmower that I was using to mulch leaves.
      I was able to clean my lawnmower. It looked pretty good when I put it away for the winter.

      My Atlas push clogs up with wet. I've found bouncing the thing aggressively will drop it from the deck and spit it out.
      The Ryobi zero has warnings not to get wet. Greenworks has a deck wash system which requires blades to be running so I would think it's wet rated

      No high pressure water clean up just household garden hose has me keeping it from problems. The car wash brush and car wash soap help retain the shine. The black leather dye keeps the seat looking black. The gorilla trailer keeps the spare six pack of batteries ready to switch. A few Bungie chords keep the blower and string trimmer hanging on while I ride. The rear storage keeps the six equipment batteries in place. 🎉❤ It's fun to get up and meet the sunrise then siesta and get up and cut again while the sun sets. A couple red bicycle tail lights mounted on the rear and an Apple tag locked inside the front hitch. And with experience one hand steering becomes possible. AL

    Does the image you show of the neutral bypass knob picture it off and in the position its supposed to be in to drive, or does it picture it still on for shipping purposes? I can't figure out what is on and what is off with it, or if its locking or unlocking the wheels when its turned on. I just got my greenworks mower the other day and its plauged with problems...cant get the blades to work so im hoping this might be the issue.

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  2 місяці тому

      I'm not seeing how the neutral bypass knob would affect the blades. 🤔
      Also, I was rewatching this video a while ago and I was wondering which position was which. I couldn't remember. So, I just checked right now. The way it is shown in the video is the way I've been using it to mow the lawn.
      Basically, does your CRZ-428 roll on its own? It currently doesn't move when I push it, which I think is the correct setup. You don't want to roll down hill. It doesn't have brakes.
      If the blades aren't spinning, is there an error code?
      Also, the startup procedure still confuses me even after a year of owning this thing…
      1 - Sit
      2 - Bars out
      3 - Red button down
      4 - Turn machine on
      5 - Wait for beep
      6 - Pull bars together
      7 - Drive to mowing spot
      8 - Pull red button up
      9 - 🚜 MOW! 😄
      If that doesn't work, then it seems Greenworks support is the one to contact. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Asa-nm9og
      @Asa-nm9og 2 місяці тому

      Ok thank you so much for explaining all that! I figured it was a long shot that that's what was wrong with the blades but I'm trying to go down all avenues. Yea no error codes whatsoever, it did at first when it got here and wouldn't move, but once I was able to get it moving it stopped showing any. Just went out and followed your step by step and alas they still won't spin...I'm in queue to talk to them at greenworks now so wish me luck and thanks again!

      I didn't notice any problems with overheating. Although, it's somewhat cooler when I mow. It's usually 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit when I mow the lawn.

    Time to learn to drive a zero turn with one hand......or at least hold it straight so you can drink or wave with the other hand. Not easy but doable.

    • @PhoticsTV
      @PhoticsTV  4 місяці тому +1

      I've tried, but depending on the terrain, the mower can drift to one side. So, straightening that out one-handed is not easy… especially there's a significant gap between the handles. It's just awkward.
      It's quick enough that I don't get thirsty and the job could be finished before people get close. 😄
      I haven't used the mower yet this season. The ground is way too squishy. I cleaned the mower really good before putting it away. So, I'm reluctant to take it out again.
      I even used this push mower… ua-cam.com/video/0Ze9nHMTx4g/v-deo.html …to delay using the riding lawn mower.

      The lawn mower description on the Costco page says… _“Mow up to 3.3 Acres at a Max Speed of 8 Mph on a Single Charge”._
      The property is around 1 acre. I usually can mow the whole lawn before needing to change the batteries. As the grass grows, the ground is less squishy, so it's been doing alright.
      Although, one time (after a lot of rain) I used a manual reel push mower. Whew! That was a tough job. 😅
