HI Paul I have the same software on my phone. It is good for displaying the engine temperature and other sensors while driving.

    Hi Paul,
    I've seen this before.
It could be a post cat o2 sensor on that side.
With the British salt roads, those sensors and their little wiring harnesses are very exposed to the elements. Might also explain why it's intermittent.
A Maf meter fault would be more likely to make the whole engine rich, rather than 1 bank.
    Cheers.

Thanks Buddy. Yes I agree it's only one side. I might replace MAF anyway to rule it out

How is the long term fuel trim? It's my number one health check item - since i got my XKRS i done a pile of work, all fluids, fuel filter, maf sensors cleaned, new air filters. My long term trims are around 3 percent which is good for a 15 year old vehicle. If the value is above 15 percent or something the ECU cannot compensate air fuel ratio anymore and throws a EML

This could be a fuel injector sticking open. I had a stuck injector, and it left me stranded. It will foul your plugs, and potentially damage your catalytic converter. If you replace one injector, better to replace them all due to the amount of work getting access to them.

Came back from cornwall last week, pressed hard to accelerate pass a truck then the yellow triangle came on and said if i recall power failure and went in to semi limp mode. Well pulled in for a cuppa, when i restarted and pulled away, no triangle and no light . Very odd. To clear it injst had to switch the ignition off. Would it be fuel supply issue?, fuel pump(s), Not sure . Im just keeping an eye on it. Any thoughts would be appreciated 👍

Transient fault codes should be stored, so if you get a code reader you can get the info.

    HI
    I also purchased a 2006 xk 4.2.
As is known, the machine is not equipped with an indicator of the water temperature, oil temperature and pressure.
I thought of solving the problem with a Bluetooth OBDII reader and an app to install on the mobile phone.
Clearly I wouldn't want to take the OBD reader off and on every time I get in or out of the car.
I've read that almost all OBDII readers draw power even when the car is off, creating problems for the battery.
So I would like to find one that turns off when the car is turned off so I don't have to drain the battery.
    Do you have any advice?
The cost of the player is not an issue.
Thanks and congratulations for all your tutorials that I have seen.

Hi there thanks for watching. Sorry I've not investigated this yet. There has been some discussion on various forums on FB about this that might help

@@life_on_cars Thank you. Do you have any links about it?
The other day while I was 1 mile from the Jaguar workshop the engine overheated and upon arrival at the workshop steam and coolant also came out.
I hope I didn't damage the head gaskets or anything.
