I know the feeling of being a little flustered getting to a new location and trying to figure out how things work. Might not of been the same but when i went to Italy not speaking any of the language and trying to find my way around. Major cities weren’t a problem it was more when you got out into the small towns.
I had the same experience in Italy as well. By the time I got to the small towns, one night we went out for dinner at a pizza restaurant. I could pick out certain things on the menu like mozzarella marinara and something that sounded like meat. So that's what I ordered. Unfortunately that ended up being an anchovy pizza. I was so tired of playing charades I just ate it. Lol
Flying them will always be a risk because of the way they operate with limited customer service and the high likelihoid you will lose your money if there is a cancellation!!!
If you have the time you are better off taking the night train to Chang Mai. You can get a sleeper train. That way it's a 2 for 1. If time is of the importance than fly. You have to book that train way early about 3 mths out.
Yes we tried booking the train 6 months out through an independent and local travel company. I probably should have just done it myself online 3 months out. Due to the holiday the train sold out within a few minutes. We were also only interested in first class on the train. They are very few first class cars available. But absolutely it sounded as though the train would have been a great ride.
Thanks for the info, I’m getting ready to fly air Asia, what about the carry on, what’s the weight limit on that?
I think they may say the carry-on weight limit is 7 kg. However I don't remember them actually weighing our carry-on bag.
