Big gold tends to want to go straight in floods. So typically it ends up on the outside bend. Man makes plans and the universe laughs. Disregard the rules others put in place and work it out for yourself. Great video mate.
Outside bends are the smart miners best friend after hundreds of years of miners walking the river. Always overlooked "rule of thumb" sets the mind of most to walk by. But the degree of bend and elevation of river sometimes makes the inside worthless and the outside a Bonanza. A double 180 S bend in the flow creates the perfect gold trap on the outside corner 99.9% of the time it's a blasted bedrock curve all those cracks will be loaded and roughly 300 feet down on the same side that gold will start to cross the river to either the middle of flow or slam the end of the inside bend
While I was on the Yuba, a couple years back, I had an "Old Timer" tell me not to "waste time" on outside bends, and Boil holes... Done pretty good on both of'em 🤔🧐🍀😎👍🇺🇸
I'm all for inside bends, but man the best gold i ever found (almost a 4 gram day) was on the start of an outside bend. I say test anywhere and everywhere!
Good video. And I’ve found that on the east coast inside bends are generally crap with most the gold being on bedrock and more so influenced by bedrock type and structure as well as where the gold source is.
that is wild if that is where I think it is, I must have been there shortly after you left the hole was still muddy, I used the super sucker in there and got a bunch of flour gold, I saw it and was like who the heck would dig there LOL
