That was quite a catch. I wonder how many know that was an EMD FL9A diesel fuel and electric engine. New Haven had these then they went to a commuter line.
I am guessing that it is tourists who get "caught" trying to park in sight of an on-coming train? Surely the locals are familiar with the challenges of parking there. FL9 2024 was a former New Haven and Metro-North locomotive and is now owned by Webb Rail LLC (WEBX). According to Webb Rail's website, they "purchased the locomotive in 2018 and moved it to the Berkshire Valley Scenic Railroad in Lenox, MA, where plans are to return the locomotive to its original New Haven number (2058) and restore it to operation."
Big note. It was built as a dual powered locomotive. All electric for operations in NY, and would switch to diesel powered for the branch lines. It has 2 axle trucks in the front, 3 axle trucks in the rear for connecting to the 3rd rail system in NY. There were only 9 of these models ever built. It was in active service until 2007 when it suffered and electrical fire.

An FL9, special design (about 60 units I think) for New Haven in the '50s that could run as straight diesel-electric or to run into New York the C truck equipped with 3rd rail pick-up shoes so it could run as a pure electric into terminal.
In certain areas, yes. However, we have a nationwide crew shortage and doubling the number of trains would mean some trains and goods will never run. Don't even as about the 200K truck driver shortage where boxes never make their destination.

Ever notice how many model railroaders run their trains so fast that in-scale it would be twice as fast a real train?
The clip was played at 3X.
May have something to do with the fact that they actually invest in the infrastructure.
The concept of scale speed is beyond some modelers.
thats mostly O scalers😜 "Lionel speed is GO!"
It'd be really boring to run them at scale.

Need a Buster Keaton sound track for the black and white Paradise PA steam locomotive scene.
The EMD F7 is shorter than the GEVO, but much more Iconic.
Anyways, I say that EMD should revive the Streamline Bulldog nose design of Locomotives.
