Exactly, I kept saying that about the pizza, suggesting who should get it, and especially in the water level, being like ‘Dude, quit getting hit to decrease your time.’
@@toastedtarts4044 Time record: below given time. Sub 20 would be below 20 minutes, say 19 minutes 58 seconds. But in Claire's case the speed run from childhood is on-going.
@@toastedtarts4044 Not a problem. I almost gave a joke reply, but I remembered similar question I asked once. I was young and playing the original DoTA. I kept asking what ":D" meant and getting kicked or verbally targeted for it. Emojis weren't big yet and I didn't see the face, and I thought it was a special command for the game. I didn't want to be that guy in this instance.
I considered myself a good NESer. I beat Ninja Gaiden, Rygar, Mega Man 1, Top Gun (Good at Landing), Bionic Commando, Tyson and many games considered 'hard' without the Genie, but I just flat out lost hope and gave up on TMNT. It was just too damn quirky and unforgiving.
Impressive! Growing up, my family didn't have much money so I had very few games (4 or 5 I think) but this was one of them because of how much I loved TMNT. I played this game all the time but never got beyond area 4. In hindsight, I really didn't even like the game that much but I just didn't have much else to play outside of rentals on weekends. lol Still have a ton of nostalgia for this game though.
I recall the bomb defusal being a bit of a difficulty wall early on with me and friends. But once one of us figured out the best route (the one used here) it was pretty easy. That actually goes for most of the trouble kids had with the game, once you find out the _quirky things_ you gotta do to get by, it becomes just a matter of spreading out the damage you take between the turtles and making sure you save a boomerang or something to beat the bosses.
Wow. I thought that I had made it close to the end of the game. After watching 👀 this I realize I only made it about halfway through this game. Super impressed 👏 not just with. This game run. But by the sheer number of old school titles you are still kicking the crap out of. Great job. 👍
Insane. I put a lot of time into this game, never got to Shredder even with all 4 turtles stacked with scrolls from the building on area 3 where you can get them over and over. I didn't know about that glitch in the ceiling where the map scrolls downward, that's awesome. Well done pal, really fun to watch.
I remember this game to be so hard as a kid and still looks pretty hard to beat, thanks to little to none health powerups and if you don't know where to go/what to do, you end up doing circles. I got pass the dam as a kid, most of my Turtles dead too. Never got thru Area 3.
It's amazing to me how you are able to do so many speed runs. How do you remember how to do all this stuff with all these different games? Much respect man!
This game was impossible. I remember making it to shredder as a kid and he shot that gun that turned me into a baby turtle and I cried and said God kill him
Arcus, you are awesome!! I have memories of how hard this game was when I was a child and teenager, I've never reached the water level🙂! NES is life! I've played a lot of TMNT 3
I haven't seen this game at all since I was a little kid...definitely bringing back some fond memories. I don't think I ever made it past that water level, lol.
This video inspired me to finally sit down and beat this game. Took all weekend but I did it. Honestly I had a hard time with the airstrip than the underwater section.
I’m always impressed with speedrunners managing to not only play and speedrun games live but also keep an eye on the tchat. Do you actually memorised every input to complete these games?
Old nes games are programmed to behave a certain way, and when you learned the pattern it becomes muscle memory, giving yourself time to glance at other stuff, like the chat.
I noticed you said something about certain characters not being able to do more damage until theyre low health. I remember noticing that when I was a kid. Sometimes my attacks were stronger then others.... I always thought that was a game bug. Enjoy the vids
The laser jet pack astronauts ended too many runs for me, like those flying throwing stars ninjas in Ninja Gaiden. If I got that far I decided I’d won. Justified.
Dude that was so satisfying, you came in right under the wire. You totally Own that game man you know I love the 1st ninja turtles game, it was really hard but it was really fun at the same time. It has this charm that is just so unique that it never went back to ever again. Man for you to be able to beat it that fast iand that precisely you must have played this game so many times. I've always wanted to know what is with the pizza right at the bottom Where the walls are closing in to crush you it looks like it's impossible to get that pizza has anyone ever even got it is there a way?
I remember a lot of us kids being disappointed with this game because A.) It was so freaking hard, and B.) it wasn't the arcade game. I think time though has shown this is a solid Turtles game and it has earned it's place.
@@zagreos8902 I don't see anything that couldn't be done on an NES, I don't know how the clipping works in this game, but doesn't look TAS to me? Could you be more specific?
Yeah the game is brutal already and they throw that in there ?? If I ever got to that point I wouldve taken the bait cause my turtle would've been nearly dead im sure
He went through water level with no regard whatsoever as to whether he got hit. Nice that he beat it the first time, but that doesn’t seem like the most wise way to do it.
Just want to point out that the wiki page states the fourth level is JFK Airport. Seems like an accurate representation... what with all the bombers and open manhole covers on runways and barbed wire fencing. Also, it's where the turtles park their blimp.
This is just insane, the OCD in me is saying "Dude, you need pizza" the entire way through the game.

I can't believe that all these years later I just learned you could switch characters while playing to get full health again.... Mother monster trucks
It took me a long time to learn that, but I didn’t get much further with that knowledge. I wonder how much better I would do know.

Ever finished rescue rangers and duck tales? Those were good and not finicky. I agree though I never got past the splinter saving bit as a kid

It's funny cos I completed TMNT numerous times but could never complete Mike Tyson's Punchout, so what kind of player does that make me?
