A fact that I don't know if you guys already knows: But in football when someone is sent off (2 yellows or 1 red) he actually prejudice his own team too. When someone in basketball is ejected, you can just sub another player in, but in football your can't sub anyone in the place of the guy sent off, so you have to play the entire game without a player.
I very rarely comment on UA-cam videos, but I felt compelled to tell you what an awesome job I think you guys are doing. I love your enthusiasm for the game, and your willingness to learn all about it. You guys seem like decent, down to earth people too. Wishing the Dunsons much success and many blessings for 2022.
Its even rougher at Amature level, You see bones broken, faces cut open (both of which have happened to me, although the bone was playing on a hard court like 9:20, but on comcrete lool and the cut open Eye brow, boxer style, was a clash of heads) back in Maradona's era (80's) defenders were actually trying to injure attackers every game, it had to be stopped so Ref's got stricter and that is how the diving came about, it was a response to defenders trying to break attackers legs
I saw a guy get his leg snapped in half during a fair tackle with someone from my Sunday League team. Both of them smashed the ball at the same time, and the guys leg just snapped around the knee if I remember correctly. Some people were panicking as usual, and some were feeling sick, including my sister the first aider, yet I was fine as I always am, and went in for a closer look. It was the same thing less than 2 years ago, when my 6ft 4ins, 20+ stone, brother-in-law, somehow lost his balance, fell over, and demolished roughly 2 metres of our reinforced wooden fence, smashing his head open, and being unable to stand up, walk properly, talk properly, or remember what had happened for the ridiculous hour it took for the ambulance to arrive. There was blood everywhere, yet I was the only person who was calm.
The dude who wasn't aiming for the ball but was kicking the downed player is known as Pepé. He's a defender who played for Real Madrid. He is a good defender but sometimes goes overboard.
"Sometimes goes overboard" is such an understatement. He borderline assaults players nearly every game. The guy celebrates yellow and red cards like he scored a goal haha. All that being said he is a legend just imagine being a striker knowing you are up against Pepe and Sergio Ramos. You will not go near them
@@zub41r75 yes he sometimes goes overboard that’s it. Remove your bias aside. Pepe is celebrating yellow and red cards? Lmao you’re speaking out your ass kid and you know it
So in football you have the "dark arts" which many defenders use, it basically means subtle little fouls, like digging an elbow in the hip of a player behind or pulling the shirt a little, all things that are fouls but you can hide, so its subtle, and although its against the rules, if you can do it and not get fouls given against you, its kind of an Art form hence it known as the "Dark arts" of defending....these however are not that and are crossing the line, for sure. Just think back in the 60's, 70's and 80's this was happening every other game, crazy, Metal studs back in the day too..OUCH!!!!
He’s not the most ruthless, he’s just a dickhead who acts tough, Most ruthless are the best defenders who let their playing do their talking 🤷♂️ like Ramos, Terry, Maldini etc
The reason it doesn’t turn into a brawl after a crazy tackle is that football associations would punish everyone involved in the brawl wither it’s field players, substitute players, coaches, technical staff… etc. Here are the punishments: 1- They get fined very very very harshly. 2- They get suspended for a number of matches. Some players get suspended for a whole season. I remember 1 player in Brazil got banned for 5 years and facing jail time after brutally breaking another player’s leg in a horror tackle. Another player is facing an attempted murder charges after kicking a player in the head while he was down and banned for life! 3- playing a number of home games without fans ( this usually happens if a fight broke and the fans got involved ) 4- transferring home games to away games. ( this also usually happens if fans are involved) All these measures are taken to make players respect the game and not instigate a fight after a horrible tackle.. let the referee do his job and the football association will decide if the tackle is worthy of a further punishment or not after the match.
Knee injury is the worst pain ever, I cant imagine how much it hurts if someone fucks up your knee with one of these flying kicks, that could end a career too
You ask for a red card, whether if do this for your country ... See a legendary match. The quarterfinal of the worldcup which was held in South Africa, Urugway vs Ghana. Never has any team from Africa played in the semi-finals of the world cup, so the whole world, and especially the whole of Africa, supported Ghana. I will not spoil, but it is worth seeing a long cut of this amazing game from 2010. A tactical yellow card foul, even if it is brutal, but stopping the opposing team is necessary. The red card foul weakens the team because the team is playing in ten.
You keep'em coming! Your football reactions are the best out there. A pleasure to watch. You must know that a red card means that the player sent off won't be replaced so his team must play with one man less on the pitch.
That karate kick at 13:26 was in the World Cup final in 2010 it the Final of Spain vs. The netherlands, the netherlands playing in orange. The guy only got a yellow card, but spain ended up winning the world cup.
Ignorant people will say Football is soft, specially Rugby´s people. But if you check the statistic. Football is up there as one of the most dangerous sports. Every year a couple of players die for sudden heart attacks due to physical exposure. Its hard and dangerous.

The play at 8:40 happened in a derby. That's Gremio x Internacional( AKA GRENAL). They're both teams from southern Brazil; They are some of the biggest teams on the national scene, but their rivalry at the regional level is GIANT, and possibly the biggest in Brazil. Their fans divide both the city (Porto Alegre) and the state (Rio Grande do Sul) practically 50/50, and they are ENEMIES. Not adversaries, ENEMIES! To the point that Coca Cola needed to change the color of its logo from red and white (International colors) to black and white when it sponsored Gremio. Each match between them is numbered (431 to date), and there is a historic dispute to know who has the advantage (at the moment, Internacional). In these matches, violence is even encouraged by club administrations and fans. Breaking an opponent is as celebrated as a goal
Going in that same line of "aggressive play" (to put it lightly), you guys could check out the "high"lightsd of a match that became known as "The battle of Nuremberg". It was Portugal vs Netherlands during the 2006 World Cup. It broke the record for most yellow and red cards in a world cup match, ending with 2 players from each team ejected.
So for your information, if someone is heading the ball, you can't be there with your foot, that's dangerous play. But when nobody is there, you can be high with your foot. That is also the reason sometimes this goes wrong, if a player does not see the other player coming. Then, you can't block a player straight forward kicking, like when you pull your leg up and then straight forward down, because when somebody is coming at the same time, you can break his legs. Other things happen, but these are mostly straight red cards. So suspensions for multiple games, there is no limit. Mostly 3-4 games, but if you kick a referee you can be suspended for the whole season.
Serious injuries dont happen as often as NFL ,but sometimes when they do happen. they can be quite crazy, leg breaks, cuts and what not from Boots, you gotta know only 30 years ago some players used metal studs
The player at 9:30 is Pepe, he is from Real Madrid and without a doubt one of the dirtiest players all time, Sergio Ramos is also dirty, but never at Pepe's level. If you want to watch a great defender, try to look for Puyol he was amazing and didn't try to hurt players. When you get a red card, depending on the foul you can get suspended for several matches, also when you are in tournamets, you accumulate the yellow cards, if you get a 3rd yellow card you get suspended for the next match.
Regarding the passion, The players used to be more about the team they play for and it was more tied to identity of the city they were from with most players being from that city, but over the years players move so much that the loyalty is not that strong so the passion for team mates is basically a friendship bond, but back in the day it was your set or group in a way.The fans have the passion still, and in a way it means more to them from the pride sense
