I just pruned one of my aloes cause the bottom leafs were getting crispy, I think I’ll hold this info for a bit and try next year. I didn’t know I could get this one to flower.
My aloe plants get 100% all day every day light. They get artificial LED light from a very bright porch light. I have 3 of them flowing right now. I think it is mainly about the cold & not so much about darkness. None of mine would have flowered if they cared about light. The light I use for my porch is practically a grow light. They will flower with or without light. That's my take on it.
Not yet, they just fall off after flowering with no sign of any seeds. I think it's not setting seeds because there is nothing to pollinate it. If it does manage to set seed I will probably try to germinate them.
@@Gardeningat58NI haven’t had any buds let alone bloom. It’s about 3-4 years old. I didn’t realize that this plant blooms until I seen this post. I make sure it’s watered but not overly watered and it’s sitting on the floor in front of my french doors with lots of light. What else can I do?
Thanks for this video! Mine started flowering and I didn’t know aloe did 🙈 Glad to see that it means it’s a happy plant
Mine has eight stalks of flowers atm. Its winter here in Australia and has lived outside for years.
Awesome

Will the flower naturally die when it gets back to winter?
Mine (smal plant) flowering right now Europa. I just let it go mother nature!
Mine alovera started to flower
Have you had any success getting seeds from the flowers?

Fuck no. My plant is a bitter old bitch and apparently doesn't want to reproduce.

should I remove the stalk when flowering has finished?
Yes, once the flowers have finished the stalk will die so its best remove it.
