Good review and sensible choices
Thanks for watching!
Good review. I only have EP3. I am tempted by VF 3. Love the colorway.
You should!
My choice would be the Adidas Adios Pro 3 followed by the Vapor Fly Next, even though I don't have the 3 edition. I agree with your assessment of the Saucony Pro 3 and I don't have the Saucony Elite to evaluate. As for the Hoka, there must have been a very radical change in this model, because despite being comfortable, the models I have have zero response and I only use them for walking. Despite your choice, my disappointment with the Hoka brand as a running shoe is so great that I won't risk buying it. Missing from your list is the Mizuno Rebellion PRO: Excelent!
Mizuno Pro and Alphafly v1 are the best for me
Rocket X2.. how lively is it compared to SC Trainer v1?
Wow good going Hoka, I tried this shoe and I immediately felt it was very good. Fit me like a glove and the ride was so smooth. How did the wave rebellion pro fare btw? Was it close to the top 5 and what kept it behind the others?
Wave Rebellion Pro is too unstable for a full marathon. There isn't much of a forefoot rocker so it doesn't feel as fast.
Great to hear!
I would run a full marathon in Rebellion pro. For me they are not unstable and they can keep my Pace over the long distance run. I reached my half marathon PB in them and my legs were fresh at the end of the race.
I have raced them all except the saucony elite..it's too hard for comfortable racing..the others are 1.hoka rocket x2
2.alphafly V2
3.alphafly V1
4.mizuno pro
5.NB sc trainer(really looking forward to next version)
all the rest don't have enough forefoot to be serious long distance racers..a great mix,as always..
What do you mean enough forefoot? Is there something missing in your sentence?
@@Dzaen2 there's not enough cushioning in the forefoot and it bottoms out quickly and it seems to be pretty much gone around 30miles total on the shoe..no surprise for me cos the vast majority of all shoes go flat quickly for me..
Hi
Thanks for the video
I ran my first marathon in the endo pro 3 and got super numb toes- was thinking about the Adios pro 3 for my next marathon - very interested to hear your thoughts on the sky+ - why didn't it make the list ? Thanks!
The Sky+ plate placement is not aggressive enough. It's too flat and doesn't provide much speed assistance. V1 was much more propulsive.
Nice list! I have ran my full marthon on the Saucony's Endorphin Pro 3's. I find them very comfortable, but the durability is abismal. I have 450km on them right now and the upperfabric is all ripped up. So actual holes in the mesh material...
Most carbon plated shoes have a very short lifespan 400 miles is the average. I'd stick to breaaking them in 20km and then keeping them for race days only! Especially for the price!
My choice would be the first shoe that is made for marathon races for wide foot runners. Why is everything always narrow?
No Alphafly?
Which of these shoes is best for overpronation + flat feet?
None as they're all neutral shoes. I believe non of the carbon shoes are stability shoes. Although you'll be fine wearing them for a race only. I'm very flat and still wear supershoes for racing with no issues.
Why not the Metaspeed Edge plus or Sky plus? I have both 🙄
Why do you have both xD ? Aren't you supposed to get one depending if you are a cadence or stride runner?
@@Dzaen2 I can't decide.

why no alphafly?
Where is Rebellion Pro ? 😅
Alphafly 1
Love from india
Nike Alphafly 2 is better than the Vaporfly 3 in my opinion. Even if it is older.
what about new balance supercomp elite
The upper sucks. Too stretchy and heel slippage.
Hoka first place, really!? Hard to believe! The world is getting up side down.
Why is that so surprising? How does your top 5 look like?

1. Nike Vaporfly 3
2. Asics Metaspeed Sky+
3. Adidas Adios Pro 3
4. Adidas Prime X Strung
I haven’t tried any Saucony shoes. Meanwhile, I tried the Hoka Rocket X 2 while wearing Vaporfly 2 on my other foot, there was a massive difference in responsiveness and softness. The Rocket X 2 felt firm and heavy. Granted I only tried it at the store.
1 - Metaspeed Sky
2- Adizero Adios pro 3
3- Saucony Elite
4 - Hoka Rocket X
5 - Saucony Pro 3
I never tried any Nike running shoes

ASICS Metaspeed Sky+ better

@@LawBrandon Maybe the edge+ will suit you better?
Are there any affordable carbon plated shoes? Lol
