White text is ATC's instructions Yellow text is what you should respond (that's your expected response so you should just always read back the yellow text and you'll be OK) Green text is what you have or your copilot has responded with.
Thank you for this tutorial, I hope you make another one focusing on descending and the approach. That's where I have issues, basically because I don't know what frequencies to choose and when to do it. I almost always end up using the ATC from the sim.
Hey Overkill, make sure that your copilot in the sim not set to handle ATC communication. I learned it the hard way, always switching frequencies, and Squawk codes. On the toolbar you can check it.
Unfortunately overpriced. Nearly as much as I paid for MSFS itself. It would need a significant interface overhaul, loose dependency on fsuipc and at least one crafted voice to be worth as much. Just my opinion.
Another quick way of entering the flight plan is by hitting fp import on the top right below the green "FPL" button, go on your Simbrief flight plan and highlight the "routing", add the origin and destination airports and bingo! Click import to import it. You can bite add SID and STAR abs Appr. But better to save it without the procedures so you can be as flexible as you want at other times.
Also under the speech tab, you can have your copilot change frequencies while you do the talking. As soon as you're done communicating, your copilot switches to the next frequency.
Hey nice tutorial! Just for the record, I believe that it is not recommended to chose a cruise altitude equal to transition altitude, This is due to the fact that at this altitude, there is a kind of buffer range where aircrafts have different baro settings since they are in the process of changing from std to local pressure so it is not so safe to remain at transition altitude for cruise because altitudes of other aircrafts might not be accurate as ATC gives you instructions. Tell me if I am wrong! Thanks again, great vid!
I actually tried to do a trail version on this and it pretty much has crappy voice sounds so fake like a computer talking to you.. There is another one out there that is better i think i saw once, that has more realistic voice much like the ATC in msfs 2020 but a little better.. Not sure if you seen it? I think it is PRO-ATC/SR you should check it out real voice in it..
I like your videos, but please can you check your volume levels, I know you put a disclaimer at the start, but when when demoing an ATC programme you really need to hear the responses from P2ATC, which in this video are very, very faint !.
I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but the reason your CoPilot wasn't responding on the button press was simply that you didn't have it enabled in the Config. The one you were looking at that was enabled was PTT. The Sayit button was disabled from the start.
Thank you for your HQ videos! #Overkill'sWishlist Sometimes it would be great to have an overview @ start, to know if it is relevant for me. E.g. in case of the ATC what it is, if it is an alternative or additional to MSFS internal ATC "system"... In short what i have to expect in the video, what it's about and what is not covered. Would be much easier to decide if i am interested in the particular video without watching the first 10 mins... THX!
Hi Overkill, this video demostration of Pilot2atc is very interesting. Is the most inmersive program that I never see for flight sim. But I'm curious if this software works with an AI traffic and more especific with FSLTL. In my case I installed the trial of Pilot2atc and I have FSLTL runing and not see that pilot2atc interact with fsltl. I don't know if I'm missing a setting. Thanks for your videos!
I hate that entering my FP into the MCDU on the PMDG 737 doesn't work with the built in ATC. It is so annoying because I want to enter the FP myself. However, it doesn't work, so my entered approaches and landing runway don't get recognized. It then send me to GA parking without allowing me to select the gates. That said I am new to flight simming and have ZERO experience with real ATC.
I have an issue that when I press the PTT button on my yoke, it remains on in P2A and the only way to turn it off is to click the button in the app and then the yoke button does not work after that. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Great tutorial.... quick question, is there anyway to have the flight plan sync'ed up with the plane (sim) & the P2ATC so it doesn't have to be entered twice.
I've managed to do it by exporting the flight plan from P2ATC and then load it in the Sim (before the flight). For that you need to have the same AIRAC cycle in the sim and in Pilot2ATC, in this video he is using an old AIRAC cycle, and maybe the sim is using another, that could cause issues. Using Navigraph you can have the AIRAC cycle the same everywhere.
@@willynanita ok , interesting, but if you have navigraph, isn't navigraph going to be so much ahead of the AIRAC cycle than that of Pilot2ATC? like how do you get P2ATC on the same one ?
@@dabneyoffermein595 No, because Navigraph updates the Cycle on Simbrief, Pilot2ATC, the sim and any other compatible mod (even the app Little navmap gets the update).
@@willynanita -- i have pulled up my navigraph account which I haven't used in a couple years, should I just do the FMS yearly, or are any planes in MS2020 tied into the CHARTS feature of Navigraph "ultimate" plan? It would save if I don't do the charts, but it's been a while and I remember I liked the charts but didn't use them enough to justify. What's your opinion?
If they can fix it so the flight plan is picked up from the FMC in-plane I would pay the price but having to enter and load is a bit of a pain. I do all my programming direct in the cockpit so this sort of fails for me, they really need to build something like this into the sim.
Good video, but you should set your sound volumes better - we can barely hear the ATC, unless we set the volume so loud that your voice is WAY too loud... :(
I've used P2ATC quite a few times now. For me, it can pretty much hit and miss. At times it will tell me to contact (whatever) on (whatever) frequency, only to find that aint the frequency. Also I have rarely gotten the higher altitude after (whatever) minutes. Plus a few other screwy things happen. TBH, personally I don't think it's a lot better than the shitty ATC in MSFS2020, maybe a little, haven't made my mind up about that yet ;-) Also extremely annoying, it is suggested that you use American language for this program to work properly. Being Australian, I hate my dates all over my computer are now M/D/Y instead of the proper D/M/Y ;-) But all in all, with the trial period, I guess anybody can try it out and see if it all works okay. It may be worth it for some, and possibly not for others. Also Overkill, did you know that by adding other language packs to Windows, you can vary the ATC voices heard in P2ATC. You have to edit a file in the Windows Registry, but it's easy and nice having different voices rather than just the stock one or 2 Windows voices. So like I added French, Italian, English and other language packs.
it’s definitely overpriced, to say the least. i also want something like this in the sim, just like navigraph is now. it’s annoying to open the sim, open pacx, open onair, open pilot2atc… etc etc just to have a flight!
You definitely have a point, but the way i look at it is that it is close to a real flight. You get your ipad or whatever, flight documents, sometimes fill out a form, then finally, you get to fly. It makes the idea a little more enjoyable to me
Love your videos, but if you’re doing P2ATC then skip all the fluff please. Ctrl+E to start plane, etc. set it up before hitting record. Unnecessary distractions. Keep up the good content. 🖖🏻
Have you tried going to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Speech Recognition and running "Train your computer to better understand you"? It really helps, espeically if done several times. Also make sure the mic is decent and is close enough to your mouth (same section of Control Panel, "Set up microphone"). Finally, most people tend to "swallow" the words' endings, and it's a problem for voice recognition software. Try to sound like you're happy and pronouncing a laudatory ode. :-) That's what helped me, at least.

It's not the volume levels. It only happens with pilot2ATC.. I'm trying to figure out why
I’ll try it out but I don’t think it will be worth the price of a fully modelled airliner

what voice are you using for P2A? Amazon Polly or something else?
I wish there was a more simple version that auto detected simbrief plans and had a better UI.
Just fyi, you had your mouse over phoenix in the favorites list ;)

heaviest PTT in existence using the warthog trigger lol
wich aircraft is that? tnks!
Can tel it was a lot of effort to get things working. Sadly the communication from Pilot2Atc soft it was impossible to hear what they were saying.
Found the problem! It has it's own volume setting in the Windows Mixer and is REAAAALLLLY low by default! Stay tuned for the next video
After watching video I still no idea what the software actually does! Way too much messing around to get it working!
If only the atc in the game worked properly. Looks like a pita but will try this.

I really wanted to like this software but unfortunately it doesn’t like my thick Irish accent. It’s such a pity because it has great potential.
@Musefan Did you try training Windows with Speech Recognition? It is worth it and doing at least a few times.

Pilot2atc never understands my voice, been English myself seems like it doesn't understand bloody English
