    FINALLY someone explains their thought process from the flight planning stage into the flight itself. What a missed area for sim videos! Keep up the awesome work!

    Great tutorial on airspaces! Cool that Pilot2ATC has VFR airspace transitions. Also, I can't believe all of this time I never knew that the G1000 had an airways menu.

    This video was beyond helpful. Thanks. Really enjoyed that we got to see the thought/planning/application process

    Great tutorial - helped me decide to get Pilot2ATC. And I had to smile when you said about the VFR sectional - by chance I was planning a VFR from SFX to Vancouver a couple of nights ago and even with SkyVector on maximum zoom, I was boggling at the amount of data on the chart.

    Would love to see you cover a VFR & Pilot ATC flight in the UK if at all possible please?

    Great Mark keep the videos coming.
    I do have a question is there a reason for not creating the flight plan on pilot2atc and exporting it to xplane and the g1000?
    Thanks Again Dave

    • @markfletcher4579
      @markfletcher4579  4 роки тому +1

      Hi David. There is no practical reason not to create your FP from P2A and then export it. I didn't do that in this case because I wanted to demonstrate how to load an airway into the Garmin. P2A can't do airways. If I were actually FILING the FP then I would absolutely do as you imply because you need the P2A to exactly match what gets loaded into the Garmin. Since I wasn't filing, I didn't worry about that. Good question.

    • @davidmullet1030
      @davidmullet1030 4 роки тому

      Good reason .somtimes I have noticed they don’t match each other I don’t know why.I just delete what seems reasonable.

    Great work Mark. I’m also new to P2A and found your flight planning segment very helpful. For too many years I used FSX and P3D ATC. After exiting restricted airspace FSX and P3D had a callout option advising of ‘leaving your airspace’. Does P2A permit the same callout? More importantly, is a ‘leaving your airspace’ callout required so that you are permitted to change frequencies after leaving controlled airspace?

    • @markfletcher4579
      @markfletcher4579  3 роки тому

      Hi Stephen. Glad you found this useful. I don't recall if there is such a callout or not. You can bring up the possible commands with +? and check that. Usually atc will let you know you've cleared their airspace so you shouldn't have to initiate that.

    Thanks Mark!! Excellent Video!! Were the nearby aircraft location reports we heard provided of Pilot2ATC and if so, were are they getting that content from??

    • @markfletcher4579

      Hi Greg. The chatter you hear is random radio clips provided by www.stickandrudderstudios.com/x-atc-chatter-overview/
      It integrates in with Pilot2ATC.
      Thanks for the nice comments.

      @@markfletcher4579 Thanks Mark. I "fly" a Torquesim SR22 in XPlane 11 frequently. Just discovered your channel yesterday and learned about xchecklist, Pilot2ATC and the X-Plane set up tips you provided. These are really going to improve things. Have you tried the new version of the TS SR22?? I flew it for a few minutes yesterday and found it a lot better than the previous version. Could be my imagination but I think the braking was more forgiving (without adjusting the profile) and the sound was much better. Also seems like the exterior graphics were much better and seemed easier to trim. I will be trying to get the screen res. up for the G1000 as promised by TS. would like to be able to see Air Speed \ other vitals easily without enlarging the PD.

      @@gregboone6389 I do have the latest TS. I haven't really noticed any difference though I have not been flying it much. I'll have to pay attention to that. All that you mention are welcome updates. I'm glad you're finding my material useful. I put a lot of effort into making it relevant and am grateful when people recognize that.

      @@markfletcher4579 Please keep up the good work Mark!
      Per the TS SR22 v1.2.1 Update Notice:
      "Improvements / Bug Fixes:
      • Add fix for users with frozen G1000 screens on startup
      • Fixed Avitab
      • Adjusted VR clickspots for throttle and mixture levers
      • Added ability to disable the G1000 multithreaded texture uploader for those with unsupported graphics cards
      • Prevent crash at sim quit caused by improper file access with Windows
      • Add support for increased G1000 screen resolution configurations
      • MD302 Auto Initialization with RealSimGear SR20/SR22 Cockpit Hardware
      • Updated RealSimGear Command Mapping files to support latest RealSimGear cockpit hardware"
      i think they included a lot of other nice tweeks not listed above as well. I would be curious to know what you and others have detected.
      So glad to learn from you about P2ATC and Xchecklist. I'll be using both going forward. I use my sim to get ready for real world flying lessons in an SR20 (hopefully) so I try to make it as real world as I can. Much more economical this way i think. I do all my FP in Foreflight but am open to switching to P2ATC as it looks like this facilitates the coms simulation and probably is easer to load FPs into the Xplane G1000. I was reluctant to use PilotEdge due to the monthly subscriptions and the "actual humans" factor... I use Foreflight or the Cirrus ibook FOM for the SR series checklists now, but this employs an iphone or an ipad be involved and I know i'll use a translucent pop up window more as it can be pulled up in my field of view at any time. Can't wait to get radio call practice in. I think this will help a lot including being able to "tune out" the non relevant chatter.

      @@gregboone6389 I'm with you all the way on PilotEdge. P2A is much more my "style" and I have a good working relationship with Dave and appreciate very much his commitment to his product. I think you'll find P2A suitable for flight planning even if not in the category of foreflight. Please let me know if there are topics you would like me to address. Always looking to do relevant content. Thanks again!

    Did you have ai traffic in this video and how does Pilot2atc handle them?

    • @markfletcher4579
      @markfletcher4579  Рік тому +1

      P2A does not really recognize AI traffic, or at least very well. It's certainly a weak point for sure.

    Hi. How to use US Sectional charts in P2ATC? Tks

    • @markfletcher4579
      @markfletcher4579  3 роки тому

      Hi Cad. The sectional is one of the charts available under the main display in P2A. It is labeled CHT. You can't see it if your zoom is not right (I can't remember which way exactly but just be aware of that). Hope that answers your question.
