    I also want to add that the afferent arteriole is much much larger in diameter compared to the efferent arteriole. Larger afferent arteriole forces most waste to the glomerular cavity. Efferent arteriole having a smaller diameter, results in some resistance of blood flow. This creates a higher pressure in the glomerular cavity. Blood flowing from a wider vessel to a narrower vessel promotes blood filtration. Afferent arteriole can also be contracted or expanded.

    But in 8:24, shouldn't the macula densa be from distal convoluted tubule instead of the proximal one? Thankyou.

    My lecture professor taught us that there are two types of nephrons, juxtamedullary and cortical and the juxtamedullary nephron is the one with the vasa recta. This makes it sound like one?
