Looks amazing. Here is how to make thin hamburger patties. Roll your meat into a ball, place meat on wax paper , add wax paper on top. Either use a flat pan or flat lid and press them out. You can leave wax paper on and stack as many as you want or even freeze them.

A good tip for tomato paste is add it to the bottom of the pan and saute it for a few minutes to cook out some of the sharpness it can have. It also helps deepen the flavor. Makes a huge difference. Great recipes !

My mom used to make a wonderful coconut pie. Of course, I don't have her recipe. She probably made it so much she just remembered it.
I have made the coconut cream pie 3 times now. For my neighbor for my daughter and for us. This is the best pie ever.

When you are at a store get an Extra grocery bag...an unused one....then when u are making hamburger patties put the pattie inside the new grocery bag (bag on its side on the counter) and press the meat into a pattie inside the bag....you can make them super thin they peel right off no sticking and no cleanup just toss the bag give it a try i bet u like it..😘 I love your videos Mel! My husband likes his burger patties very very thin. I have found the secret to getting them that thin is to place the meat between parchment or wax paper. I then use a saucepan and smash them really thin. I can get them really thin that way. It then peels off the parchment and cooks up really nicely. Maybe try that next time you want them really flat. Your dinners look yummy.

Hey Mel, lemme give you a great tip for removing grease from a pan of cooking meat - take a paper towel, fold it up, and move it around the pan. No pouring the excess fat needed. 🙂 Learned from Julia Pacheco, but if you want to save the grease then your method is better.

I worked for the Nashville Predators Hockey and they put their burgers in a ball to start with and flattened it out with the spatula while cooking. They called them Smash Burgers! it seems to work better. Might be worth a try. idk A bacon press helps also I've found. I'm like you, I love my crunchy lettuce!!! All your meals are wonderful and we love them all so far. You are a great cook with a soothing voice too!

Good recipes Mel. I can't wait to try this coconut pie. It looks so yummy. I always make a coconut cream pie but you have to cook the filling, temper the eggs, etc. It's yummy but takes a while. This one looks so quick.

Hi Mel! Well I'm trying lo carb/ keto. So, I get to live vicariously through you and your videos. I love pasta 😋. They brought subs to work today. I took the meat, lettuce and tomatoes off and added some mayo. I gave the cookie and chips to a co-worker for her son. Pray for me to have patience and strength to stick to it. I'm down 10 lbs in a month 🤪

For Big Mac sauce, we have always just used Thousand Island salad dressing 😂 taste just the same lol
Mama Mel we do these at home as well. The key to the thinness is to roll out your burger with a rolling pin between two pieces of wax paper. Then bake the whole sheet of burger at 350. Use a bigger round Cookie cutter once done

I put my ground beef between two cookie sheets and smash them, you can even stand on them to get them super flat! Either that or put a cutting board on them and lean all my weight on them. And then they have to go in a screaming hot pan to get that crust and stay together. They’re my boys’ favourites!
❤️👍 my husband does smash burgers like that outside on our cast iron flat grill with a really heavy bacon press. I don't know why I never thought to "smash" them before I cook them inside 🤣 thanks so much
@@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel TBH I started doing it that way because we have an induction stove and I was worried about cracking it if I pressed down on it that hard! Figured out it makes zero difference to the end product if you smash em raw or in the pan! 👍🏻

You certainly were/are a beautiful bride…pro’s and con’s on a thin burger..they’re not as juicy thin and a little tough…I like an airy burger but not thick… I hardly pat them before I fry… just enough to shape and that’s it…will grab some special sauce next time I have burgers 🍔 love lettuce shredded on my burger too… thanks for taking the time to show us new recipes….

They are crazy right lol??? 😄 Before my dad passed and when we lived in the same state, I used to make his favorite pie- Lemon Meringue. Homemade crust and all. Definitely a labor of love!
Yes, stock up on feminine products if you can. I am past that season of life, but have 2 daughters and 2 daughters in law that need that stuff. Hadn't heard about the lettuce, but it's a bummer that can't be preserved. A garden is a great idea.

On the burgers i usually roll out my ground beef between 2 pieces of wax paper then cut them out and then its just peel off and shape the edges. You can roll them nice like the restaurants.

I hope you & your family all had a great Sunday/Father’s Day, my day was quiet, my dad passed away when I was 19, he was 45, he died suddenly while having a severe epileptic seizure, he was home alone when it occurred, that was 41 years ago April Fools day 1981🤷🏻♀️ I reached out to my two brothers to wish them a great day, we all saw each other the weekend before at my nieces 18th bday/HS grad party my lil bro threw for her and I spent the day watching movies. LETTUCE TIP🥰rince it off pat dry, Store in (Mason jars)in the darkest part of your fridge, Keeps fresh for up to two weeks, It works!! saw this on youtube, they also said same with avacodos ☺️

My burgers also never look pretty. Love that minced onion hack to do the onions like McDonald's does. My ALDI has been hit or miss with lettuce lately, they didn't have it 2 weeks ago but had a small amount last week (at least they finally got cream cheese back though). That pasta looks so good with the spinach!
