  • Spring camping in Arkansas at Bull Shoals / White River State Park. One of our favorite places to go for some fly fishing, hiking, and sitting around the camp fire. Don't forget to take your bikes and enjoy the ride..... This campground is right on the White River with flat, roomy sites for your tent or RV. There is also a store, boat ramp, and rental RV cabins. You can even rent a boat here. Located just below Bull Shoals Dam, it is a great place to stay.

Hey guys, nice video and thanks for posting. We are heading there in a couple of weeks. I have a couple of questions if you could answer for me, please? I have the Arkansas fishing guide and it is confusing with catch and release areas, the times of the catch and release, the types of baits, hooks and so on that a person can use. I'm really confused. Are you permitted to keep the trout you catch provided they are within the limits and size? We will be fishing from the shore, since our campsite shows we will be staying right next to the river? What about bait and lures? What's the deal with that? Then I read the hooks need to be barbless and then I read they don't. None of it makes sense! Do we need to just use artificial lures or can we use worms or whatever? Thanks and nice, clear video!!

There is a catch and release area below the dam. From the campground down you can keep legal fish. If they are running water it is harder to fish from the bank but you can. White rooster tails work good. Or you can try an olive wooly on a spinner is one of my favorites. If they are not running water, it is perfect for fly fishing or light spinners.

@@midwestcoasttravelers Thank you so much! You summed up in one paragraph what it took the Arkansas Fish and Wildlife in its entire brochure to explain Thanks for the tips on the lures, too!!!

@@midwestcoasttravelers We'll probably only fish from the shore. We have a reserved RV site on the river. I'm looking now at buying some rooster tails. Thanks for the tips on what lures to use. Like I said, reading the Arkansas fishing rules and regulations book, you have to be a rocket scientist to understand it. They contradict themselves on what type of hooks, where you have to release the fish, etc. The map of the park looks like it's all catch and release, but then I've talked to people like you and have said you can keep the trout. Gosh, they didn't put that much thought into splitting the atom!!!!

@@garyp9906 fishing from shore you might want to try around where the spring comes into the river. And down river from there is also good. You can also fish up around the store and marina. If they are not running water, it is good everywhere.....and yes, their regulations read terrible.
