MidWest Coast Travelers
United States
Приєднався 10 лют 2022
Welcome to our MidWest Coast Travelers channel. We are Steve & Cindy, owners and full time photographers of Photos By Gum LLC, and live at beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. A lake that has more shoreline than the state of California, hence Midwest Coast. We love to travel and go on adventures, sometimes in our RV, sometimes in our Jeep. You never know where we will end up next. Along with videos of our travels, we will have tips for campers, some cooking ideas, and reviews on what we find along our way. We also have a traveling photography studio for those that want family portraits or scenic shots while on vacation. So sit back and enjoy the ride!

We went as far west as we could drive. We made it to the Pacific Ocean and the Redwoods National Park. We camped at Klamath River RV Park and spend several days around these massive trees. Then on to Lassen Volcanic National Park for a pleasant surprise. We did not know what to expect, butvery glad we made the journey. And then headed to Subway Cave Lava Tubes which was awesome.

Welcome to Oregon, our next stop on our Oregon Trail '24 journey. We headed to Diamond Lake to camp, fish, and hike to waterfalls for 5 days. It is located just 15 minutes away from Crater Lake National Park. It has been 34 years since we were here last. Not much has changed over the years. Hope you enjoy the ride revisiting some of my boyhood stomping grounds.
Oregon Trail '24 - Glacier National Park and Waterton Lakes NP

The next stop on our Oregon Trail tour is in Montana. We stayed in St Mary on the east side of Glacier National Park. It was easy to get to the Going to the Sun road and up to Many Glaciers. We also made a day trip un into Canada to visit Waterton Lakes National Park on the north edge of Glacier. Both places are amazing.
Oregon Trail '24 Wyoming - Yellowstone - Teton

Wyoming was our next stop on our Oregon Trail '24 tour. We spent about a week in Gardiner Wyoming at the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park thru the Roosevely Arch. It was a crowed July 4th week so we did not get to see everything. We also made a quick trip down to Grand Teton National Park to see the lake. Hope you enjoy the ride with us. Wish I would have spelled bison right on the v...

2024 Solar Eclipse Old Greenville Rec. Area, Lake Wappapello
Переглядів 255 місяців тому
We headed to Old Greenville Rec. Area on Lake Wappapellpo / St. Francic River to watch the total solar eclipse. The campground was very nice and clean with large sites and the walking/biking trails were great. You could go from the campground right into town. Lots of history here from the old town site to the Trail of Tears. The bad part about this trip was we had to cut it short and get our 13...

Big Sky Montana is a great place for some winter adventures like hiking to a frozen waterfall, snowshoeing in Yellowstone National Park, or cross country sking on a golf course. There are many trails in the area. The hard part is picking which one to hike on. Here are a few that we would hike again. Ousel Falls Trail, Uplands Trail, South Fork Loop Trail, Specimen Creek Trail.

If you are in the Big Sky Montana area, you will not want to miss taking a hike to Ousel Falls. It is about a 1.7 mile out and back trail in the Custer Gallatin National Forest. It is a beautiful hike any time of the year. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the peace and quiet. It is one of the more populat hikes in the area. #travel #hiking #OuselFalls #montana

How fast were you guys/ladies traveling on tour?
Gracias por compartir, me gustó mucho
You are welcome. It had been 34 years since we had been there so it meant a lot to us, also.
New subscriber and thank you for the memories. I haven't seen these places since 1987.
I am a Korean creator! This video is really cool. Let's follow together!
Thanks ! You will love that area and maybe in September the fall colors will be showing.
Really enjoyed your video, we are planning a trip to Mount Rushmore and the surrounding sites in September. First time there for us, very excited and this video showed a lot of the places we are planning to see.
Agree. Not much shade but good place to float.
We always spent 2 nights floated one day and left. But 2 nights tent camping is enough. However as I grow older I can see just sitting there for days.
A great place to relax, just wish there was more shade trees.
Hello, just found your channel. Love your name. Keep up the videos
Thank you! Will do!
Beautiful trails there. Thanks enjoy!
Thanks, will do!
It’s so easy to take for granted those things that are in your own back door. We live at the Lake of the Ozarks in central MO. A beautiful tourist destination, and we also take it for granted.
We live in Spanish Fort, AL about 45 minutes from Gulf Shores and we definitely take it for granted!
We love the Gulf Shores and Panama City Beach area.
Thanks! It is a beautiful place and easy to find great shots.
Folks absolutely beautiful episode, shots are amazing! Love it 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
We definitely will go back there again.
There are miles and miles of great trails.
That's a nice bike trail around the lake there. We were there last year and enjoyed it too! 😊👍
well.... You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd 😊
Of all places you could have a wipe out on a snow mobile, it would have to be right next to a Buffalo herd.

Excellent video
Glad you liked it
LOVE LOVE LOVE Gulf State Park | Gulf Shores. This is our second year here; we have covered almost every inch of the bike trails. Beaches are beauuuutiful. Loved your video. We did a few but not as good as yours. Invite you to check out our channel. Safe travels.
thanks for watching. We will check out your adventures.
Wonderful video. Been going there since mid 60s. Still go once a year with wife. Even went when Lake Delton was emptied. Got to walk on it. Would have liked to see the winding roads leading to Devils Lake. We like camping on south end. Now it's cabin rentals on Delton. You get old, you want comfort.
We agree on comfort. That is why we went from tents, to pop-up camper, to class C, and now class A RV. We have been there in the spring riding the ducks and river boat, and sking in the winter. It has been great every time.
Wonderful camp ground,, thanks for the review. What time of year was this?
This was in July. The only bad thing was the biting Yellow Flies in the evening. We put up our screened-in gazebo and that helped.
Oh my goodness - the baby alligator on the mom's head - wow! Smart baby. Saw hundreds of babies in the Everglades. Only the smart ones would figure out how & why to climb up on the mom! This state park looks amazing - we are semi heading this way, but watching this just might make me see if we can get a site here!
We enjoyed the area. The campground is busy and we needed to change sites after a few days so we could be there a week.
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
Been so long since I've been out there. Love it.
Was the water cold while you were snorkeling? ❤
not at Dry Tortugas but a little cool at Marathon.
Thank you! We are going in January with our kids and I know they will want to swim first thing lol. Just trying to brace myself @@midwestcoasttravelers
@@TaylorRaine we went paddle boarding thru the mangrove forest on Marathon at the state park and it was worth doing. Water was not cold.
I had thought about going there today, Lisa made me work on a house instead. Story of my life.
Maybe tomorrow
Fantastic scenery friend
Many thanks
The Cape especially Dennis and Yarmouth are horrible!! Tourist traps galore. Stuck in the 40’s, locals are the worst, very unfriendly.
Definitely a busy tourist old timey area but with some nice drives and places to visit.
Pool might be closed but the Falmouth Fish Market is open year round in Teaticket.
My wife and I miss Cape Cod. She grew up in Falmouth.
Yes, a nice place to visit.
I was just there a few days ago it's a very beautiful scenery 😍 😊 ❤️ ☺️
Amo essa região do Cape cod, pretendo visitar novamente em 2026!!!!
Dennis Port is beautiful year round! The bayside of Dennis is nice also...but a little too spread out and honky tonk (especially the beaches...usually left trashy in the summer). So Dennis Port on the ocean side is definitely the better call. Great call on The Oyster Company (I was there last week!) and Sailing Cow (a little dumpy, but good breakfast and great location...right on the beach). Thanks for posting this!
thanks for the review. I live in kansas city and want to see more coe campground reviews!
We spend many weekends at Truman, pomme De Terre, and Stockton Lake. Most of the campgrounds are very nice. Pomme De Terre is our favorite lake.
WOw, the sailing Cow. I summered at a cottage right on the beach, a 30 second walk from Sailing Cow. BTW, you missed one of the best breakfasts in Dennisport... Wee Packet.
I first visited Ha Ha Tonka in 1969 July, October, and January 1970. Working on a term paper of historical places in Missouri. I interviewed 18 members of the Osage Indian tribe. The white man misspell Ha Ha Tonka. According the tribe elders I interviewed it is one word, meaning laughing waters. The owner at that time was a restate company in Florida. The castle is half of what is was back in the late 1960's. Vandals (partying high kids had there way with the water tower and castle).
Wow. Great info. I also first visited HHT in the early 70s, before it became a state park and before the water tower burned. We drove over the natural bridge to get to the castle area. I’m as impressed with it now as I was then. I hate that you can no longer clamber around on the ruins, but I certainly understand why.
@@midwestcoasttravelers A book you would enjoy by Vannie Aber title: HEIR TO THESE HILLS 1979 I have over a dozens books on the history of Hahatonka.
Nice video, I'm about to tackle this shortly. Class C with a tow. Thanks.
It makes it much easier to level
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW
Good stuff as always!
I just saw my truck in the shot of you riding your bikes! I was there too in July and YES it was hot!
It sure was hot that week.
Looks amazing! I will go their this Winter!
Great place to visit any time of the year.
As a fellow Missourian and part-timer at LOZ, I enjoy your videos of local spots and out of state travels. We traveled to upper NY and ME this past September and after seeing your video, will have to spend time in NH on our next trip. Best of luck to you and safe travels.
Glad you enjoy the videos. Get ready for our next adventure coming soon.
Great video as always. I like your bridge tradition.
Thank you, new sub.
