Bee and Camel are the only two Zoologists I have full bottles of. Hyrax scared the literal shit out of me! Enjoying your first impressions, Monsieur Canard.
I’m really enjoying this first impression series. Your 1st impressions on stick are a lot more insightful than many reviews after full wears. I was surprised, but pleased that you found Moth, Bee, Camel of enough interest to move to the skin test. I do hope you also consider including Koala which blooms on skin, and is a Sping/Summer staple for me here in Australia. Warm weather lifts it to another level. The last of my 5 bottles of Zooologist, and the one i consider most outside my fragrance wheelhouse is Nightingale. I would not have considered trying it, except for the fact that the perfumer is Tomoo Inaba who made Moth. This self-taught perfumer seems to have an inate artistry that seduced me like a Nightingales song. Looking forward to further treks down the Zoologist rabbit hole 🦆. Many Thanks from Down Under.
Once I'm finished going through all of the samples, I'll probably try them all again on sticks and see if I've changed my mind on any of them. I liked how koala used eucalyptus, I think it's very underutilised. I'll try it on skin and see what happens. Thanks for great comment
I have Night Flyer from OLympic Orchids(Ellen Covey). Ellen Covey did the original Bat and rereleased it on her own brand. It is easily the strangest perfume I have ever smelled. It somehow smells like a cave with a tiny hint of fruit, very odd, not wearable for me but I do go back and smell it frequently.
@@RichMitch I have many of her samples, they are WILD. Many are intense and animalic especially her "Dev scent" series. She lives just down the road from me in Seattle and her "Olympic Rainforest" scent is an amazing photorealistic impression of my backyard. She's doing interesting work.
@@RichMitch my house is surrounded by the Olympic Rainforest, she captures the Fir needles and sap, damp moss, slightly sweet decomposing leaves, and Blackberry's perfectly.
That's a pretty decent quad right there. In the upper tier of the brand. There are just better versions of each fragrance out there from other brands I think
Try the original bat from Olympic orchids first brother! It's called night flyer. I never tried it as a Zoologist. Price is better straight from perfumer as well and it's better.
I used to own a bottle of Bee and Camel but sold them off. Bee was just too heavy to wear, although I enjoy the smell and Camel was just a bit too fruity for me.
Thanks for doing this Rich, as there's so many and so many on my radar I've been reluctant to dip my toe in on Zoologist apart from Bat which I just had to because of it's notoriety and Bee as I love honey, not sugar or babe. 😂
His next two releases simply MUST be Duck and Ram
🤣🤣🤣
We should start a petition

They're all on the list of fragrances to try on skin, along with moth
Even when not wearable, it's perfume artistry..story telling.
Totally agree, I'm really enjoying the house in that regard
The first version of Bat was brutal. One of the rare fragrance that was too challenging for me. Smelled like rotting fruits in a moldy wet cave.
Yikes, I wonder if it's still out there?
Yes it's amazing!! Lol
@@itskyyuuuu Discontinued bat? 🤔🤤
@@RichMitch The perfumer Ellen Covey is selling the original formulation of Bat under the name ''Night Flyer''.

Very very interesting! I love how you keep the pictures there the whole vid,I’m a big fan of them also.fantabulous video sir
Thank you man, I appreciate it. The art work is amazing, he should definitely do posters 🤣
@@RichMitch lolz I swear you’re right 😹
I think the mineralic note you‘re referring to is Akigalawood (from Givaudan). Also heavily used in Bisch‘ Bois Imperial by Essetial Parfums.
There's definitely something there, doesn't smell too woody to me but more metallic. It's in Ganymede too

I enjoy your detailed input, i love this house for its creativity.
It has been a very rewarding experience so far, I have been won over by their creativity too. Very different from department store fragrances
Really enjoying the series! Camel is fantastic
It's very interesting lol, thanks very much
Really enjoying this series
I am too, to be fair
Yeah seeing that Beaver image I can imagine a castoreum fragrance, maybe Bulldog or Chihuahua is the next after Cow, thanks for sharing Mr Duck.
I think it's going to be scarab beetle next, they could go on forever

The busy bee 🐝
It is a busy bee, a lot going on
I gotta get my hands on some samples I haven't tried any of these yet. Sooo many brands it's hard to keep up.
It's worth buying the whole sample set, just to experience it

That fruitiness in Camel is strange, it's a good contrast but I don't think it suits the fragrance overall

I'd be surprised, I love the holographic writing on it... it's coming up in the next video
Have you ever smelled Versace oud noir ?
Yes I have
In fact, I had a bottle but gave it away
I own and love tf oud wood. Would the Versace be a good replacement? Or not as good? Not as similar?
@@fallguy6196 I don't think the quality is comparable, tf is superior
