10:50 hes from Sarajevo, capitol of Bosnia and Herzegovina. £135k is a looooooot of money in Bosnia. It's 21x the average yearly salary in Bosnia. He's making a fortune by Bosnian standards just reading things from wiki.
Worst thing is that youtube kept pushing his video, I dint follow him but youtube kept recommending that video all day long. I could just read Wikipedia instead, apparently
Wikipedia's content is licensed for free copying, therefore D4A isn't depriving anyone of revenue if he steals from Wikipedia's original content, although failure to provide the attribution required by Wikipedia's license would infringe upon Wikipedia's copyright interest. D4A's stealing of any content that is not licensed for free copying might also be fair use, but it is still plagiarism when unattributed.
Doesn't change the fact it's utterly scummy plus he uses stolen graphics and spouts falsehoods. The free use part of a license REQUIRES proper referencing and accreditation and he's too lazy to do it.
I enjoy D4A's videos, they're catchy and well-presented. But it always seems a bit glib. I remember commenting on this exact video, which was about the surge in diesel cars in Europe. He told the story as a grand conspiracy by the EU to willfully pollute & poison their own countries. Obviously a very dramatic, exciting hypothesis, but not rationally likely to be true. I think he prioritises hooking his audience above thorough, objective research. Entertaining but not trustworthy.
My view on this, using extracts or even full qoutes from a source like wiki is fine... blongs you make that clear to your audience. Presnting it in a form of your script, your work, your opion from a educated knowledge of a subject is misleading. How many people where conned by the alferdan investment scam because they took D4A's videos as a trusted source of vetted and verified facts.
Theres lots of huge channels which do nothing but read other peoples work almost verbatim. Internet Historian got caught doing it and he gets 10-30 million views a video

Its mostly and motor engine based channel, prove me wrong but he know what hes talking about there. Cannot see why its a problem to share informations about topics that hes not an expert in, as long as those facts are true to live. Maybe its a bit lazy to get things from wiki, but ive learnt a ton of stuff at d4a... And also kinda like his general massage. Did you need some "flamboyant" thumbnail and accusing some UA-camrs of bad things just to get yourself a bit of spotlight ? ......
@@dirtygarageguy mate you talking about a UA-camr here. And its not that he took a scientific paper and claimed it as his own. I haven't gotten around to watching one of these critical videos since I've become aware of them (haven't watched D4A for a while either though) but plagiarism is straightforward enough that I didn't have to watch to unsub from D4A.
When I was in college we weren't allowed to use Wikipedia as a source let alone plagiarize it. Only sources that were allowed was .edu, .mil, .gov, and peer reviewed documents from a PHD. Wiki is like a children's book in the collegiate world.

D4A wouldn't know if he was lying or not because he doesn't know if the things he's copying are correct. That's the problem when you copy others without having your own experiences.
