My mood completely dropped when i heard the true reason behind him selling his son's computer. No parent should bury their child. Thinking back about it, it was probably for the best to sell this computer. When you are a parent who recently had to bury their kid and you wake up every morning to see his favorite item sitting there taking dust and dying, it is probably very painful and sad. This is definitely a great choice from the parents. Because now, they not only gave this computer to someone who might need it, but the legacy of their son would continue and it would be cleaned, taken care of and upgraded over the years. That said... May a fellow gamer rest in peace and I wish his parents the best of luck. And kristofer, if you think that you won't use this computer, or your interest has died out in it, please sell it. Don't let it take dust like it was. This may be a dead, unconscious and old item, but this item has a story and it has character and probably should not be left out of life.

Damn man, you made me cry... that's a first for a youtube vid. I lost my dad ~8 months ago. We first started gaming together on atari 2600 and continued on every console until I bought my first computer from Gateway (:D) to play Diablo II and Everquest. He had some Compaq el cheapo that he Frankensteined enough to play. Once when he called Verant for tech support, they literally told him there was no way he was playing on that system :). We raided hardcore, and f'd off in general for the next 15 or so years in numerous games and on multiple comp builds. Those memories are as real as anything we did IRL. And we did a lot together; we were best friends. Wow, anyway, that's gonna get long. His most recent build is probably about 5 years old but he still played on it every day, until he couldn't. The brain tumor took out his mouse hand first. I've kept windows/drivers updated so mom can use it as a HTPC, but I still haven't made myself log into his accounts to update p/w, guild upkeep, etc. As far as i'm concerned, it can sit on his desk forever. .. Yea, yea, I will get around to that. I miss you Orrlok .. but don't really miss draggin your stinky troll corpse :D [Lol, can't believe I'm gonna post this to a youtube video comment. I am actually pretty mad because he didn't even say that the pc was worth way more than 450$ the guy said "probably because of the gaming craze going on right now"
I think $450 was fine considering that he was willing to search through all the files for anything valuble for the parents. Its better him recieving it than someone else who would just end up wiping the whole thing without checking.
May he respawn in gaming heaven with 100000000000$ gaming PCs and were he may roam in fields of 64gb ram and drink from liquid cooled computers and may he meet the gaming gods who may bless him with eternal life ( and games )

Bro not even being a jerk but I can't help but feel you took the father for a ride. You told him "its probably because of a gaming craze.". Bro I'm all for someone getting a kick ass deal but it's not like you were getting it from someone who knew what they were selling... the dad literally had no idea of worth and you could have said "look pops, this is worth more than you're selling it for so heres an extra 100.00.". We all know its worth it and you would have done the right thing but feeding him a piss poor excuse like its probably because of the gaming craze wasnt cool. Now some may agree with me and some may disagree.... but these are just my feelings and thoughts.
agree, but at the same time that is not how you get rich. I always get angry with rich people who dont share and try to keep everything for themselves, but then my mom said "people dont become rich from sharing" and she has a point so...
You saying "my mom says" tells me you are more than likely not a full grown adult yet. This has nothing to do with sharing but taking advantage of someone.
Nobody would give favors to sellers that don'T want to put effort to research what's the worth of what they're selling, especially when it's your son' stuff. Don't act llike you're the special dude that would waste 100$ for a good deed. Why don't you jsut go and give a 100$ to a homeless man who needs it more than this man.
About a year ago I bought a secondhand PC with some very reasonable specs for $500 from a guy on facebook. We had exchanged messages on facebook for a few days and through all of that he seemed like a great and really nice guy. When i met him to buy it, he seemed like he was sad to get rid of it and i kinda felt heartbroken trying buying it from him. After a few minutes of making sure he was positive he wanted to sell it, i handed him the money and went on my way. About two weeks later i receive a facebook message from the guy who sold it to me, but it turned out to be his brother messaging me on his account. He said his brother (the one who sold it to me) was found dead on the floor in his apartment due to suicide and wanted to know if i had any pictures or information left on the computer. I was so devastated to know that the HDD was wiped when i bought it because I certainly would've helped them out. Condolences to the family, if youre somehow reading this. My heart is heavy for your family and not a day goes by where i turn on my computer and i dont think about his face when he sold it to me.
@Avi Ben Shushan Yeah I agree it's a lot of money to find a family member was into furry hentai brazillian midget amputee sex but hey if they really want the pics of him they would pay I suppose.
@Avi Ben Shushan Very true .. I'd at least give easus file recovery a go .. it worked for me in the past after a dodgy windows installation decided to delete everything, the pics were renamed to jargon but it worked that time lol

Going into this video, I literally thought either the son was spoiled or the father was a prick. After watching the video, my heart kinda broke hearing the son passed away :(
It’s a shame you couldn’t be honest and tell the real price the father already lost enough right ? Funerals are not cheap probably why he needed to sell his pc and didn’t want to assuming it’s his passed sons... regardless either way this dude is going to fucking he’ll

@@Milan-qu5ut As it sits as a system that is not a horrible price bought essentially the same tower in April 2018 from the guy who built it for 400. (Not quite as nice of a case no monitor, keyboard or mouse) Thing is that an older used system as a system isn't worth it's components prices parted out. People want the parts to do things like sli, replace their motherboard that lost a capacitor and/or max their ram slots, with matched brand and speed. I Don't know exactly what keyboard and mouse or monitor that is but the monitor as long as it's bigger than a 20 inch works and has only a very few stuck pixels can expect to go for 50 to 75% of retail. The keyboard and mouse is really hit and miss a handful of models end up being what everyone loves and are valuable the rest are basically $5 to $10. So while I think $450 is kinda lower end (because someone can part it out and probably get $650-$750) as a system I would personally take a system like that ask $600 and accept the first solid $400+ offer in hand on Craigslist or Marketplace.
amazon is a scam. ofcourse not really, but there are a lot of stuff there that are listed way to expensive. Steam link for example is a small machine that costs like 60 bucks on steam. it costs like 70-100 on amazon. like how?
@@theo_7212it would be worth no more than 800 brand new not in it's current condition because parts can wear out if not taken proper care of or are generally old.
Dude, you should totally upgrade this thing to the max and make it your main computer! I think this is special and I'd love to see a follow up video on some amazing parts being put in this, and made into your main PC.
I think most of you didn't understand. wwjoshdew didn't suggest the father do this. He already sold it. He suggested _KristoferYee_ do this - keep it, upgrade it, make it _his_ main rig. And I do like the thought of that. Even if you just stick with the case and PSU, its still holds on to the story.
This happened to me as well. A parent selling their dead son's gaming computer. In my case the oldest of it was close to 10 years old, which was the case and dvd drive. The motherboard and cpu were also an Asus ROG board and Intel 4960x and only 2.5 years old with a 1 year old pair of titan black graphics cards. And the parent thought it was all in reality 10 years old and was asking only $300. I turned the computer on while I was there, everything including the dual 24" screens worked. I didn't react to what i saw in device manger which also said it had an SSD raid of sorts and another raid of platter drives. I mentioned to the seller however that there was a couple upgrades but didn't make any sort of assessment. After I got it home, it had 2 512 gig ssd's in raid 0 which at the time were worth almost $1300 each and it also had another WD black 4tb drive, and a 4 drive raid 6 with all wd 4tb red drives and hardware raid card. A sound board which the name of fails me at the moment, and was loaded with as much ram as it could hold. The parent thought they wiped everything off of it, but the raid 6 was still intact, and on it had a lot of pictures and other video's. I opted to not flip this computer, and I gave it to my own son who is 13, as he was also saving to build his own dream computer. And the two of us decided that they deserved to get more for this machine. My son had about $1000 saved up and insisted on giving it to the parents I took my son, and we drove right back to their house. They asked me if everything was ok, and we told them all that we found in it, and thought they should get more for it. I also opted to take an extra 500 of my money because even at $1800 I was still getting a steal. The computer even used was worth quite a lot more. They were impressed and quite taken aback at what we said, and the mother was almost in tears. They both however insisted that it was not necessary. And instead expressed that it was going to someone who was going to appreciate it. And asked that we instead donate the money to the charity who supported their son before he died. So that is what we did. I also will say my son didn't hesitate. My son still uses it as it is and I took the raid 6 out to use myself. And I am quite happy at the good life lesson this also taught my son. As he has grown he has become one who doesn't hesitate to do what is right and help others in need. I instead purchased a few other things that week to flip, none with that kind of impact on us.
If you could write this without chopping onions, that'd be great. I admire your actions and even more so how you are raising your son, keep that up and I wish you both all the best! But next time, no onions, they almost got to me.
@@Swooshpragler Thankyou, i will next time. It was almost choking me up writing about it. At the time I promised my kid I would pay for half of the cost of a computer he wanted, and we would build it together. So he could have easily just sat on his money. I did completely disassemble it to clean out all the dust and what not, and more than what I would normally do. As it was used to teach my son how building a computer is done. He did everything while putting it all back together, I only stood behind him sipping beer and giving instruction. So it has made him appriciate the computer all the more. He cleans it out ever few months of dust and what not, makes sure the water loop is maintained... Its awesome. His little brother on the other hand is a bit different lol

there's a reason why the father took 1 year before he decided to move on... or try to move on. for 1 year, his mind was thinking his son would come through the door after work to game/watch movie/listen to music. he has'nt gotten over it completely but giving stuff away is first few steps people do to accept loss
I know he was asking only $450 but seriously dude, his son died and he knew nothing about computers. I would have given him what it was actually worth or close to it. EDIT: nvm watch part 2
I wouldn't buy it for more than that. I think it's a fair price. For $500 you can build a better PC today. You'd miss out a bit on the flashiness but you'd have better gaming performance. I wouldn't want to pay more so I would at best just not buy it and have wasted my trip. If I told him it was worth more I would be lying as per my opinion of it, and me not buying it means someone else is going to come along and try to haggle it down to $450 or lower.

Not to mention that recording people without their knowledge is a felony in the U.S. You are always required to disclose the fact that an interaction is being recorded. I hope this fucker goes to prison.
20 years ago I thought on that a lot. I looked at his computer/PS1/SNES when he wasn't home and thought about that. I cried a lot. Sorry for your loss, great stranger :(
@geo man He's just calling you a parasite because you are one. You can use all the commas you want but it doesn't change the fact that you are a leech, you feed of things just as any other human on this planet, and in this case, you're trying to feed on negativity and emotional reactions with your effort to seem shocking. When someone is going through something that is hard, like losing someone you love, you might wanna consider treating them accordingly. If you can't understand why, you prob lack a lot of emotions in yourself. It takes a bit of courage to see into yourself, but even you might find courage to break free from your own prison. I wish you luck!
To those people who say for him to give more money: The dad clearly doesn't need the money.. why would you give more money if he doesn't need it? More money doesn't solve his problem. It doesn't make his son alive again, it doesn't cause his grief to go away. Giving money to me makes it look like you are pitying the person. What he needs is some time to reflect and someone to support him through the process, and that is infinitely more valuable than money.
I disagree. He might not need the money, but I think he would be touched by the fact that a stranger inconvenienced themselves for the sake of paying respects to the son. It's the thought.
No omg how can you be so dense... he would not pay him money for pity. He would pay for not screw him. Imagine that dad talk with some of his sons friend and they ask what he did with his sons legendary rig. And he will say "i sold it for 450 to some guy who know alot about computers" and friend would say "if he knew alot about computers as he said, he would also know that that system has much bigger value, so in that moment of selling he knew that he is using your lack of knowledge to get much better price" THIS IS WHY HE SHOULD PAY MORE
oh my god this guy speaking, reminds me from every single deal i made where the people were so humble, its nice to meet and know that people like this still exist. Right when he said his son died my mood watching that video flipped upside down. Losing a son must be the biggest pain that ever, cant imagine what this guy came through :( I wish him the best.
Apastorfield because the father found the pc and didn’t know anything about it and wants to sell it although he doesn’t know that the price is more than 850$ dollars

@@tadd5936 When my father passed away, he left his 1x1 meter box of mtg cards for me, and i play with those exact cards to this day. It helps to have something to remember your loved ones by.
I’m glad you got the PC than some other person out there. You treated it with the utmost respect and I don’t think anyone else would have done the same. Big respect.
Yeah but have you considered the guys dad though? Imagine just after your sons death you wake up every day to your childs PC just sitting there collecting dust.
I have mixed feelings about this video. I always love your videos and your personality however the fact you knew the computer is worth more than $450 and later that you knew the father's son has passed away... I felt like you should've told the father the true value and probably gave him few more hundreds because he just recently lost his son. But you probably don't have that much money willing to spend more upon ... so IDK how I feel about this
Except that no one in their right mind would pay more than $500 for that PC. The fact that his kid died is extremely irrelevant. 180000 people die a day. It's kinda a thing by now we don't have to make a statue and go beyond our means for every person who dies.
Apastorfield it’s more about having morals, respect and being a part of a good culture. If you don’t have either or don’t belong to a good culture then you wouldn’t relate. I don’t judge you for your opinion... you’re not wrong... just don’t carry yourself like you’re a man, or honorable. Carry yourself like the arrogant, self entitled, spoiled kid you are.
@@Apastorfield you're right, he even paid the full asking price. If someone is selling a house that's worth 500,000$ for 250,000$ ima get that house if my job is flipping houses and I have the means. The return on investment is great, that's what he's doing in the video. Now the real lowdown guy was the one trying to haggle for 400$. Plus he wasn't able to estimate it's true value at the house, that takes testing and time that he just didn't have.
Just by the fact that he had an original copy of Mass Effect 3, respect, plus his overall built is roughly 5 years more advanced then my current/only system, he gets a fckton of respect from me. @@Milan-qu5ut As it sits as a system that is not a horrible price bought essentially the same tower in April 2018 from the guy who built it for 400. (Not quite as nice of a case no monitor, keyboard or mouse)
Thing is that an older used system as a system isn't worth it's components prices parted out.

And he will say "i sold it for 450 to some guy who know alot about computers" and friend would say "if he knew alot about computers as he said, he would also know that that system has much bigger value, so in that moment of selling he knew that he is using your lack of knowledge to get much better price" THIS IS WHY HE SHOULD PAY MORE
I agree, he obviously just wants to get rid of it
@@LudarixDF yeah then he's going to feel cheated and lose faith in humanity !! 😡
send to his parent more money bro it feels wrong to buy it that low
Watch the whole video before commenting
Shaun hornik Shaun forreal
He did in part 2
His soul lives in that pc if you play it you have the gaming power of you and him
Wtf
Oh Belhote yeah bruh idk
oh my god this guy speaking, reminds me from every single deal i made where the people were so humble, its nice to meet and know that people like this still exist. Right when he said his son died my mood watching that video flipped upside down. Losing a son must be the biggest pain that ever, cant imagine what this guy came through :( I wish him the best.
I woulda given the dude an extra $200 fr man. RIP his son.
why?
Money ain’t gonna help his pain go away
Apastorfield because the father found the pc and didn’t know anything about it and wants to sell it although he doesn’t know that the price is more than 850$ dollars
@@mohammadalsayyed1741 no it's not
The Graphic Card Costs cheap 60 euro the cpu 70-100 why is 450$ not enough? haha how you come on 1,5 k ? the graphic card is 6 years old hahaha wtf

That guy had a god PC way back 5 years ago.
He is dead tho

@@lmao3799 okay ?
@@lmao3799 he said he pass away last year so 5 years he's still alive dummy
And a pretty good PC even today.
rip my fellow gamer
i hope you take care of the pc
bibona gamer I think he upgraded it, sold it and gave all the money back to the dad
That guy should just keep the pc as a memorial of his son
Luxary well then he would have to keep it somewhere he wont see it everyday, if I had my son die, and i had to grieve and see his favorite thing everyday, i would probably have lots of breakdowns
tadd g same
Seeing my son's favourite thing every day as it was unused and slowly collecting dust and dying.
Why not an actual memorial? Or a shrine?
@@tadd5936 When my father passed away, he left his 1x1 meter box of mtg cards for me, and i play with those exact cards to this day. It helps to have something to remember your loved ones by.
I’m glad you got the PC than some other person out there. You treated it with the utmost respect and I don’t think anyone else would have done the same. Big respect.
damn, i would not buy a computer like that, becuase everytime i play i will think of his son.
Yeah but have you considered the guys dad though? Imagine just after your sons death you wake up every day to your childs PC just sitting there collecting dust.
Patrick on A sea horse ... that would be....
Captain Rice but you don’t know what the son looks like or who is was
This dude flips stuff so he won't be keeping the PC and playing on it, he is just going to clean it up and sell it.
Every chicken dinner would be for him no doubt
Big F’s in the chat for our fallen gamer brother. Super sad to hear about his son passing.

@@kaisyaya8492 "monitor 50". Ha ha
@@fernandoguerrero5244 Right. Even though it was all last minute, at least give a heads up about what it actually is.
“I know a bit about computers”
Flashback to all of his computer builds
Ya alright
Just by the fact that he had an original copy of Mass Effect 3, respect, plus his overall built is roughly 5 years more advanced then my current/only system, he gets a fckton of respect from me.
Whomever he was, I'm sure the world is a much lonelier place for the one's he left behind. R.I.P. my good man
What is that noise in the background?!?!
sounds like -"Daaad! Noooooooo!!! not 450!!!"
I know its a joke but the son passed away a year before he sold this PC. Your truly cruel.
Darkness he probably didn’t mean to hurt anybody, don’t call him cruel
I'd pay more than asked price because I do not take monetary advantage of ignorant people, it would feel like theft.
@@Paxmax It doesn't look like the guy needed the money! He finally decided to sell it and just wanted it gone now.
@@diskdrive6113 The dads son died a year before he sold his PC. And your telling me not to say hes cruel even though he made a joke about the dead son being upset about selling his PC?
RIP gaming bro, your rig will live on and bring joy to others!
