I have a Moog Sub 37 and I have bought one model D...I love the sound the flexibility in the sonic spectrum of the model D. The Sub 37 has much more possibilities in the modulation matrix, but I prefer the sound, the 3rd oscillator, the FM capabilities and tone of the model D without hesitation. The result of all this, I have sold the Sub 37, as simple as that.
Sorry that I gave you the 666th "like"...BUT I really loved what you did in this example. I've got to say that the BMD is the most musical synth that I own, and now I have 2 of these to make a proper "2 Voice". I have had many of the old classics in my studio over 38 years and this BMD has now become my all time favorite! :) It's almost like cheating! Again, great job! :)
I love this piece of music and I have a technical question: how do you get the piou sound on the C note @ 1:32 ? I truly love that ! for me it's the best part
I'm getting a Model D in exactly 3 hours from now and your video helped me a lot to decide should or shpuldn't I get one, due to different reviews on the YT! Thanks! Update: I bought the Model D, but the store where I bought it was out of 5-pin MIDI cables, so I'll have to wait until Monday. Oh, well, no one said musician's life was an easy one.
Wow..!!😅 I never used my Model D for this..because I have many boutiques for pads. Nice idea....very warm sounds..! With Model D you can separate the third oscillator from notes..but the gate trigger remain.. and you can play the notes from the knob with a free coarse. I used often Model D patched with Neutron..for a total of 5 oscillators. They sounds great together.😉
Nice. It is quite funny that most don't realize the power of a mono synth in the right hands. Almost every sound on Larry Fast's first Synergy album "Electronic Realizations for Rock Orchestra" was done on a Minimoog.
well I just tried this with My Model D and SQ1 and some el cheapo micro pedals off ebay, some sonic craziness, I used a Donner square verb + wave, so a really 'gritty sound' if i can be bothered to plug it all into my pc I will upload it.
That is superb! DM12 + Behringer D- I think that's the way to go for folks who don't have the budget for a vintage Juno and a Minimoog. Sounds really good to me!
in this combo it certainly sounds impressive even with only one voice. Would be nice to hear it dry and then wet to allow some comparison on how much the effects do for the beautiful sound. And yes: that is true for any synth, or course
In our world you never hear anything "dry". At least the room is giving a color and a little reverb and some echo to even a flute, an old guitar or just your finger hitting the table... So why listening to any synth "dry" ? This has no meaning because you don't have any experience of how things are sounding "dry"... This should be a way to compare, but to compare to what ? Do you have a great experience of anechoic chambers ? I'm pretty sure the answer is no. So the best way to test the sound of synth is to make this test in a fair way, so mainly adding at least reverb. In our human experience of our environment we never hear raw sounds, apart specialists working with anechoic chamber. If you're not such a specialist, listening to a raw synth sound will teach you nothing ...
I multitrack recorded the Boog to make some pads, also through Ubermod, and it sounded glorious! Who needs an analog poly when I have this for $300. There isn’t a three VCO poly with this kind of filter and modulation anyhow. I’m lovin it!
I'm thinking about getting one of these. Does it work well when being controlled via MIDI from a Montage? And perhaps routed to the Aux input on the Montage to use the onboard effects?
Timbre maravilhoso, impossível de acreditar que foi gerado no Behringer. Usou algo além do módulo como fonte dos timbres?? Processou o som final? Saudações do Brasil
For chords, perhaps, but mono synth pads are totally doable, unique and useful. Besides, you can always record it and copy to multiple tracks, then pick shift. I'm doing it in Ardour and it's fast, way and works great. I have other synths and software that are great for pads but sometimes you just want that Moog sound.
@@davidpetersonharvey Ok, maybe what I should have said is that a polysynth is what you want for easy live performance of pads. Yes, you can also multitrack record or tune the oscillators to different chords on the fly But that:s definitely doing it the hard way, at least in 2019..
Damn i was so sure, that the novation bass station would be the wirst analog monosynth i will get, but the sound of this thing really makes me question this assumption. I could use my mininova yamaha pss580 as midi controller. Nice demonstration!!!
I bought the Crave from Behringer. I m happy about it, but i m also using absynth (NAT instrument), it's a very complete numérique Synthé (vst) . Actually, i m confused between bought more hardware or vst?
Well ya know I don't know if he did it hear but you can tune the 3 oscillators into a triad to make chords. And I'm sure the reverb FX gave it a "pad" sound.
Is that a Deepmind 6 or a 12? I'm trying to justify buying a Deepmind 6 because a 12 is going to fuck me over with shipping with how big it is and I'm on a really tight budget if I also want a Neutron with it!
Hi! I bought a Behringer model D, and when I turned it on only the overload light blinked and it didn't do anything else, they changed it for a new one and it does the same thing, so I tested the power supply of my rd-9 and it works perfectly, What do you think the solution would be?
Did you mess with the mixer section? Filter? Envelope? Do you have other synths? I have heard of people not setting the synth correctly so it isn't making sound, but it's not a defect. It just needs to be set up correctly.
I have a deepmind 6 and just got a model D and would LOOVE to know how you have them linked. Midi thru from deepmind into mode d? Which midi channels do you have them set to? Same midi channel or is one on, say midi ch 2 and one on ch 3? Would love to know, this is exactly how I want the two to work. Thanks!
Someone made a comment that you can't make pads with the Behringer D because it is only one voice? Someone needs to listen to more Gary Numan.
Walter Hunt Indeed mono pads have a uniquness . 😊
or buy a delay pedal :)
On general principle, I think everyone needs to listen to more Gary Numan.
You Say thé thruth
General principle or pleasure principle?
Anyone who looks down their nose at behringer synths should be made to watch this video... twice. Great stuff.
its not that. the company have bastard principles
Alright. I don't need any more convincing. I'm just gonna go get one of these. That was dope dude.
Wonderfully creative demo. Behringer is probably the most overlooked music equipment manufacturer. And one of the best for value!
awesome, flashback to listening to vintage 'Hearts of Space' spacemusic back in the 80s at 2am on FM radio
Probably the best Behringer Model D video here on UA-cam so far.
Lovely pads ! :D The D sounds absolutely brilliant.. i have to find a reason to get one, this could be it.
If and when you do acquire a Behringer Model D I am sure you will make it shine!

Same story here. Haven't missed the Sub 37 one bit.
I have one as well and I highly suggest getting one. Amazing synth and not really that expensive.
That was nothing short of mind blowing.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

"I think it sounds pretty good." No, it doesn't - it sounds AMAZING!!!
Oh my you just sold this synth to me. How absolutely wonderful.
I love this piece of music and I have a technical question: how do you get the piou sound on the C note @ 1:32 ? I truly love that ! for me it's the best part
Yesterday, this video was the last needed reason to convince me to buy Model D. Now I'm waiting for delivery :) Great Pad!
Awesome demonstration! I'm gonna dig out the Big Sky to try on my D tonight!
whelp! that does it for me. was questioning if i should buy this and the universe brought me to this video. i'm sold. very nice work!
What a beauty, creamy ,rich and smooth
Thanks for sharing this. I intuited that one could make pads on the D already, but it is good to demo this and prove it!
Was thinking of buying one, this video came on and when you brought in the main osc at the 1min mark I bought it instantly. Thanks.
Glad I could help! It's a damn nice synth.

Awesome.
This is stunning…
Awesome sounds from this! Congratulations...
Brilliant! 1st video (beside Behringers own) of many I saw the last weeks which give me goosebumps and this is a unmistakable sign ... 😉
Such sweet sounds, Jim! I'm still hoping to get a Moog Model D this year.
Did you ever get one? ;)
You sir make a Model D sound amazing :D
- AmbieticA - thank you
Wooo nice patch!!! Sounds very spacy!!!
Massive!! This is the vid that convinced me to buy one!
That is superb! DM12 + Behringer D- I think that's the way to go for folks who don't have the budget for a vintage Juno and a Minimoog. Sounds really good to me!
Nice video, nice pads, I also have deepmind 12, great synthesizer! and I've always wanted to get a D model.
This is one of those "why didn't I ever think of this before" things :D
Great work!!
DrummingEvil Thanks!
DrummingEvil I
That's really beautiful.
How can anyone put a down thumb on this? Excellent demo!!! Gave me chills....mine arrives Tuesday
Incredible Sounds!!
Excellent! This is a great sounding machine and artist! Thanks for uploading this! :)
Could listen to that all day - cheers!
Inspiring video! I don't have this synth yet but will definitely try on my SE-02!
Nice !! Just created one on my little D, and spend 1 hours fiddeling wih it :-)
in this combo it certainly sounds impressive even with only one voice. Would be nice to hear it dry and then wet to allow some comparison on how much the effects do for the beautiful sound. And yes: that is true for any synth, or course
Shimanski Beats Yeah I know people like to hear dry stuff. But this us how I'd actually use it in a track so....
Shimanski Beats doesn’t matter if it’s dry or wet, as long as it sounds good
In our world you never hear anything "dry". At least the room is giving a color and a little reverb and some echo to even a flute, an old guitar or just your finger hitting the table... I have both of those synths as well. LOVE them. Especially my DM12
Love it!! Now I have to order the DeepMind12 to control mine as well haha!! :) Great sounds!!!!!!!
just ordered this. creaming myself. It's stunning
I'm thinking about getting one of these. Does it work well when being controlled via MIDI from a Montage? And perhaps routed to the Aux input on the Montage to use the onboard effects?

Is this a DM6 or 12? Nice sound
Awesome work! Thank you!
Sounds great with the reverb and delay.
very cool ambient pad, spatial string type...
You proved that person wrong
wonderful video and sounds...... thank you so much ! :)
nice performance!
It(s a great sound, and the Model D is brilliant--I own one too. But, realistically, a polysynth is really what you want for pads.

I have the same dillema!
You mean first and not worst, right? :)
That was delicious LoL Good job!
This is pretty amazing tbh
what delay or reverb are you using? seems a good fit
Excelente timbre.
Really nice. Thanks for the titles so we can follow along.
Wow, this is huge.
Absolutely sublime,,bravo,,
Love the music.
I found another use for my DM12, thanks! I think that the D might be this year's It synth!
Wooow! GREAT pads!
Thats very nice! still have to wait a couple of weeks to receive mine then i certainly will try this
very cool
Very nice. As someone who bought a Voyager, I feel a bit stupid.
Love The Sound
Sounds really nice👍
Nice demonstration there...
Very nice!
I bought the Crave from Behringer. I m happy about it, but i m also using absynth (NAT instrument), it's a very complete numérique Synthé (vst) . Actually, i m confused between bought more hardware or vst?
Use what inspires you. I use more software than hardware these days but I love both
@@EarmonkeyMusic thx i think the same. It's a question of pleasure (and money lol)
At beginning very similar sound to Depeche Mode “It’s No Good” pad sound.
Makes sense actually. DM are one of my biggest influences
Very well done, sounds AWESOME with modulation!
I did Pads on my latest Model D Video, too.
And very musical too! Thanks for pointing me to your site. Subscribed!
Glad to hear that; You're welcome :-))
OMG, that's amazing!!!
beautiful!
Wich effects do you use from the DM? Sounds pretty cool.
I use Valhalla plugins. Ubermod and Shimmer. They are really great and only $50 each.
awesome sound
Well ya know I don't know if he did it hear but you can tune the 3 oscillators into a triad to make chords. And I'm sure the reverb FX gave it a "pad" sound.
So you didn't watch the video then
@@EarmonkeyMusic I'm guilty, I skipped around lol !
Who doesn't love the D?
er Moog lol :)
I'm starting to...
And the Curtis family estate...
can't wait to get my hands on some D
D in the A?
Very impressive!
Brilliant !!!
Man I wish they’d become available.
Is that a Deepmind 6 or a 12? I'm trying to justify buying a Deepmind 6 because a 12 is going to fuck me over with shipping with how big it is and I'm on a really tight budget if I also want a Neutron with it!
Interesting. You can play chords on monophonic synthesizer by tuning oscillators to intervals
Awesome man,,,bravo.

Nice Boards of Canada timbres! What pedals are you using?
Valhalla. Shimmer reverb
Hell yeah, pads.
Wow... very impressive
Amazing
Thank you! It's a pretty nice little synth
More oscillators, more notes ;) Add modulation and effects to taste and it's party time!
Nice
what reverb do you use?
love the sound, wish I had one to play with but they dont seem to be on sale anywhere but germany..
Behringer have a consistent history of delivering products a very long time after they are announced.
Sold! Amazing!
