  • This is a quick video to show what wires you need to cut to splice in a pressure switch so your compressor will shut off automatically. Below are the parts you need to convert it to a standard quick disconnect air chuck.
    T fitting: amzn.to/3ENkqGh
    Pressure Switch: amzn.to/3ZtPYKW
    Quick disconnect coupler: amzn.to/3ZqMSqY
    Long adapter: amzn.to/3RD5PES
    1/4 to 1/8 adapter: amzn.to/48qnO7B

    Great Video on the new NAPA compressor. I finished mine yesterday but went a different route. There is a power wire that has a spade connector on the board that you can unplug and use for one side of the pressure switch. I also drilled my manifold for th1 1/4" quick disconnect and did mine internally. This new NAPA compressor has the board mounted so you need to switch the outside covers to the other side to allow for the pressure switch and coupler to be in the same spots on the manifold. A guy did this on the Maxi FB page that I followed to do mine.

    Thanks for the quick and dirty, got mine ready to be modified! Probably going drill and tap.

      There seems to be plenty of room to do that. Especially on the side away from the board.

    It blows my mind that they don’t come with one ! I picked up the same compressor last week and i wondered why it would not stop on its own …… thanks for the vid

      Yeah, I’d think there are a bunch out there that get ruined from people not knowing any better. They could have added a 25 cent part to make it great from the start.

    Could you help me out when you cut the 2 white wires?Does one of them go to the pressure switch and the other go to the off switch?I'm not sure.Could you help me out

      Yep. Check out 1:45 in the video. One white wire stays connected to the switch and the other goes to the pressure switch. Pay attention to which white wire you cut. I explain it in the video. Hope this helps!

    Can you share a link to where you got the pressure switch?

    I’d really like to know how it compares to the MaxiTrac performance wise.

    • @Mondaymotoring
      @Mondaymotoring  10 місяців тому +1

      They're the same essentially, motherboards are different. Both made in China. I'd bet money they're made at the same factory. Maxi Trac is a NAPA brand, they just changed the name they have the factory put on it. They do this with a lot of products. I worked for NAPA corporate for 19 years.

    Ive been told that its not good for the compressor the operate under that type of pressure switch without a "unloading" part of it. And since you ran the switch outisde instead of tapping into the existing metal, would it be better to add one that has an unloading bit instead?

    • @Mondaymotoring
      @Mondaymotoring  7 місяців тому

      I don't know if it would be better but the way they come it doesn't have a shut off at all which I think is much worse than the what I put on it. There's a dedicated FB page that has a ton of information out there if you'd like to research it more.

    What’s are the specs for your pressure switch? I have the exact same compressor, I believe this one comes with a built in pressure switch but I couldn’t find information on what pressure it cuts off.

    • @Mondaymotoring
      @Mondaymotoring  10 місяців тому

      There seems to be confusion on if it does or doesn’t have one built in but mine certainly did not. I have a 90-120. Hope that helps!

      @@Mondaymotoring Thanks! Yes definitely confusion on this. I ended up running it without installing a pressure switch. Never cut out for the 5-8 second it ran it. Installed the switch as recommended in your video and works like a charm now.

    why did you use the white power switch wire instead of the red wire to the pressure switch..?

    • @mgw2168
      @mgw2168 4 місяці тому

      I was curious the same thing. Why tap the white wires vs taking the existing red into the pressure switch then do a jumper from the pressure switch to the board. Any feedback?

    Hey i installed pressure switch on mine too but when connected its goes on like every 20secs when not airing up by itself for about 0.5sec and turns off.
    Is it a small air leak problem or its has some built-in air bleeder?

    • @Mondaymotoring
      @Mondaymotoring  4 місяці тому +1

      I have found that mine will bleed off air and kick back on.

    Doesn't the pressure switch restrict airflow?

    • @Mondaymotoring
      @Mondaymotoring  7 місяців тому

      No, this thing airs up four 35s in no time all. The pressure switch is connected to the air path but it's not in the way if that makes sense.

      I have the same compressor, but had been told that is why the guys at Thors Lightening didn’t install one. And now they sell them with the pressure switch. Of course I bought mine before😬
