    Hats off to this guy for his machining and welding prowess, not to mention his blueprinting ability. From my perspective, it would appear more advantageous to cast and machine a cylinder block and crankcase assembly than to chop up four cases and then weld and machine them together to make a complete engine. Perhaps, I'm just thinking mass production, where as he just wants to complete one unit in his small workshop. He may not have a foundry or casting experience, but if he did, he could turn out more of those precious little gems and even supply them to smaller frame builders for a profit.

      I agree with you . such a potential of technical thought and engineering knowledge has been accused of a work that is not entirely practical. From a technological point of view, this engine is worthless. The only value from an engineer's point of view is a beautiful Sculpture . Not less very beautiful for me it is a waste of time and knowledge, in this place something more practical could be done, the work done by the author is huge, but it is a waste of energy.

    • @vr6prodigy
      @vr6prodigy 2 роки тому +1

      @@sqooter. I mean I guess it could be construed as a waste. I think it's worth doing because it hasn't been done. The value of being the first or few to do something is pretty high I think. It's all to easy to buy something and throw it together. This man created something that didn't exist. And in certain countries availability of materials or even money in many cases prevents people from simply obtaining a new engine or even parts. This engine could run a lot of different equipment with the added torque. Log splitters, rope spooler, plow, water pump, etc etc. Also with him designing everything from ground up he could've increased compression and optimized the timing.
