Thank you, Danny. I have a very small collections and this is indeed a very important subject. After a while, our orchids are like our children and we want to make sure that they are in good health. :-) My son calls my orchids, Mom's Four Kids. I have more than four orchids, of course but he heard me say on the phone that I have to go home and water my orchids and he heard four kids. :-)

Okay, that is interesting. It is always amazing to me how these viruses cross the genera divide. It is not so with the ones that affect humans.
    Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dani! I know this is off topic, but I thought you may see my question here. I was wondering if you could share your thoughts on growing orchids bare root, or in semi water culture. I trust your opinion and would love to know your thoughts on this subject. Thanks! --Jamie

OmHeart well to be honest is more of a personal taste.. Vandas, cattleyas can be grown mounted or bare root successfully since they like airiness. Phals can survive practically any experiment that doesn't rot the crown or stem. In the end if you want to experiment go ahead, but don't experiment on anything else other than Phals, others will probably not like it. Personally I am not a fan of bare root or semi water cos I just don't have time to hassle with that and I have few Phals compared to other species so it's just not for me, that's all :)
