Hey Steve and Andrea, revisiting a location years later is such a great idea! It's fascinating to see how some places seem frozen in time. I found myself rewinding several times just to spot the differences. It’s reassuring to see that not much has changed. Thats hilarious if those thousand island dressing jars were really used for moon shine. Makes more sense I suppose than some old dusty miners having a addiction to salad dressing! Really enjoyed this!

It is nice that we were able to return somewhere and it’s all still standing. Helps being in the middle of nowhere and in a desert climate.
What an experience. Returning 4 years later. Four years? Hard to believe that it's been that long. At least I can look back and still remember all these and more of two of the best content creators around. Bet Joe couldn't. Thanks hope we can squeeze another 5 or 6 out of y'all. 😊

Love them all . The ghost town/ stage stop/ mine/ farm with Rock buildings and animal sheds& stalls& corral was cool too.
Good judgement call on not messing with those jugs! Just no telling what's in them. Otherwise, great explore! It's interesting to see how much people put a lot of effort into living their dreams, including the two of you! Thank you!

I love all of your videos, but this one is one of my absolute favorites. That's wonderful that you can compare what is there in 2024, to what you saw back in 2020. Excellent presentation, Andrea and Steven... and, yes, it's great that it's still just about the same, as it was back then.

We cringe somewhat at the original video. I think it was the third one we ever filmed 🥹 I think we’ve improved somewhat but still lots to do.
This brought back memories when I was young living in so cal.
My best friend and I used to go out exploring.
We found an old barn from way back in the day. It had kind of been abandoned or not used.
Cool thing I found Some old papers from the san diego tribune. And the dates were very close to the day I was born. I will never forget that place kinda wish I'd save the newspapers but... I didn't.

Even with the addition of time ,, it still feels like it did back then . 😊 Thank you both for going back in time again and sharing any new changes in 4 yrs. It never hurts to reminisce because you may have overlooked something the first visit 😊. I’d be looking for snakes first😊

Hello nice to see a minning camp with all the interesting equipment and living areas .Going in the mine finding all the salad jugs has to be stored water .Some one said the jugs and the tank near by is Moon shine no that looks like a galvanized tank that would most likely kill anyone .ps. went back and found the the 1 st visit and found some differences and good comments thank you for both explores 🇺🇸⛏️love it .p.s. Safe travels p.s. Lots of subject matter for taking unique pictures ❤️

Guess I missed you guys in 2020. Can't believe I've been watching since 2021 when I saw another YTer introduce Pin in the Atlas! So glad I discovered your channel and follow your adventures. Today was another Lunch and Learn for my wife and me. This look-back (revisit) proved quite interesting and informative. I'm impressed with your memories of various features -- green bottle line, pop bottle caps along ore car rails, 1,000 Island Dressing Jar, Pack Rat Nest, etc. Thanks again for sharing and taking us along. Hmmmm. Didn’t fancy that. Don’t know what could have been in them. Many moonshine. Or pee!
It would be a good site for a volunteer cabin. Do you camp out at sites like this or go back towards main roads ? For safety? Privacy?
We actually camped out by the little cabin. We arrived too late to film so checked everything out before hand for safety reasons. Camped the night and filmed the next day.

Interesting reexplore! 🙂I always wonder in these old mining areas where they got the water? I saw the toilet was plumbed for water. A person might think the containers in the mine were just water storage. Did you open any of them?
No. Thought best if they stay closed. Don’t know what could be in them plus they’ve been there for 30 years!
@@PinInTheAtlas My guess from what I could see in the plastic jars is that it's just water. A mom and pop mining operation would have used anything they could get for free. Anything organic and you would see some form of decomposition in the jars after 30 years.

Another great video documenting places before they disappear all together. I wish I had the time off from work to be able to explore. Hopefully, when I retire I'll have the time to go back into Archaeology. Been suggesting places for Wonderhussy to explore lately.

A year or two ago, somebody else did a video there (a friend of a friend), and I did a little research on Duke: seems he owned an auto repair shop in a town not too far away, and I think he was also on the city council for a while. He also owned 8 or 9 more mine claims that are scattered around the area.
The reason for all the dates:
The way the BLM used to let people keep their mine claims was, you had to show $150.00 (I think that's the amount) in improvements on the claim site each year. So, it was very important to keep track of when things were done.
Now, you just give the BLM $135.00 each year, and they're happy.
Can't remember if any of his claims became patended (deeded land) or not...

Yep you never know what was in those jugs. Place has been abandoned since 90s!
