I think the trans-orange was supposed to represent the Skull Grinder’s control over them, but I do understand if people don’t like that and choose to remove that colour from their skull villains. I personally love the inclusion of that second colour because I think it ads depth to their character designs…
Now that’s interesting, was there lore or something that was supposed to clarify that these skeletons were under the control? And so the orange is like glowing necromantic magic coming off their bodies?! That’s pretty great
I actually really like the neon orange to be incorporated into the Skull Sentinels. These are dead Okotan warriors reanimated by Kulta (Skull Grinder), so it does make sense that they would have this fiery blazing orange, it's the spirit and magicks of Kulta keeping them stable.
Alright, here’s an alternative take/explanation for you: Imagine a group of lowly skeleton warriors returning to their master, having failed their mission. Battered and broken, they’ll be of no further use to their leader as foot soldiers, but instead of simply killing them and being done with it, their master tears their broken undead bodies apart and reforges them into a a new form; that of a scorpion. Frenzied and consumed by pain, with a broken mind comprised of the shattered souls of disgraced warriors, this new monster takes to the battlefield once more, hoping only to atone for its past failure, and perhaps be released from it’s perpetual agony. That’s one take on it, I guess.
8:47 It just occurred to me that CHI fluminox used the first inika blaster part in a LEGO set since 2006. This only serves to make me all the angrier that the ultrabuild fire/ice CHIMA sets never made it to the US.
I think if I remember correctly in one of the G2 BIONICLE books the skull warriors, skull basher and skull grinder are part of a group called the skull raiders, they were basically skeleton vikings, it was a great idea but I feel that the potential for it was lost.
I went into my Lego dark ages around 2012, and started building again in 2018, so I just missed Bionicle G2. Maybe someday we'll get a G3 (or better, a revived G1), especially with all the current mech sets coming out. Your show has proven that system bionicles can be absolutely stunning
I remember these skull villain sets were a big part of my disappointment with G2, compared to the frightening concepts of the Bohrok horde or the deadly Rahkshi... let alone Dark Hunters and such. Yet, these Mocs really bring them to life and show what potential they had!! I think the fact that the first wave of G1 didn’t have a proper villain wave was a real shame. Your Toa need something to fight!
when seeing all of these cool moc's I get jealous because when Bionicle was a big thing I didn't know about it, and now they cost to much for me to get.
I was on Temu when I saw all the hero sets minus rocka xl for 2.0 and 3.0 selling almost 5 a piece obvious boot legs but it awakened something in me long forgotten got them today and boy are they amazing right size very few parts I am actually have problems with and ofc I bought all 12 figures for sale meaning I have one of each rn. 44 plus dollars spent and now my UA-cam feed is nothing but hero factory
I'm fairly recent to this constraction in 2023 but your videos have inspired me to break out my old hero factory sets and make a custom, that being said I don't suppose you have found any mocs that have a good hair/tail design I can take inspiration from

Idk about the skull slicer, I've always imagined him as being more spindly so bulking him up kinda takes away from that.
