Olympus never really felt like a threat. I don't mean gameplay wise, I mean story wise( except for wodime raining down meteors). The gods were such dumbasses that I couldn't take any of it seriously. It's funny that QSH was a more omnipotent god than fucking zeus. His own wife was helping the traitors and he didn't even realize it. Chaldeans basically set up a giant summoning circle fight under his nose and his omnimoronic ass couldn't see it. Seriously, lamest god ever. Kirshtaria is absolutely weird and complex as an antagonist. When I heard his ultimate objective it put him on a similar trajectory as being no better than Goetia. Both claimed to want the best for humanity yet their plans actually did more harm to humanity than either truly bothered to comprehend.

@@madambutterfly1997 Goetia wanted a grand restart where humanity is immortal. Wodime’s deified humanity was said to have longer lifespans, not immortality, and would’ve had higher clarity. He wanted humanity to progress through its own power.
If only tunguska was more focused on actually koyanskaya instead of dobrynia fishing by a river for a whole chapter, also spoilers below. They didn't do much with dobrynia being her adoptive mom-dad which was a missed opportunity imo.
@@luciebarathlone730 That whole part of the chapter was just so far fetched, since the area is and was always isolated from human interaction in a huge area because of the condition of the environment. So basically no human actually lives and/or lived there which explained that no human died from it offically. Most animals there never met a human in their existence there. The few hunter nomads that went maybe through parts of the area wouldnt waste their resources to hunt animals with guns. That is just ridiculous. Most guns back then didnt even work reliable in that kind of climate and neither were they cheap. That means the animals there rarely or ever met a human in their life time and for sure never heard a gun shoot which such regularity that most to all of them would asume that the meteor impact would be because of that. They needed some convoluted reason in her origin to make her qualification as a beast canidate work but it is just bad writing on that part. They should have just make her some kind of amaterasu alter ego which would have worked far easier and better.
Moriarty is so charismatic and fun to watch as a character that even KNOWING he was the villain, I loved him. Shinjuku earned him my favorite Servant slot and I regret nothing. The rest of the list makes sense too. Great video!
Moriarty was such a good villain that he's plan went too well and he ended up playing himself at the end. Since then he's remained a manipulative and magnificent bastard who delights in making Holmes show a bit of pettiness, enjoys being sorta good to Fran, and helps under the guise of 'its my world too so you can't destroy it' when he likes being the guy foiling things for a change. I was surprised most of the Crypters didn't appear on this. Granted some are not really villains but I'd have thought Yu would have. To me she was the most memorable thing about that Lostbelt. And I'd have put Arjuna Alter a bit higher as I give bonus points to 'I want to kick you in the face for what you did' moments. Of the kings of the Lostbelts up to through Olympus, Arjuna gets that reaction from me first. On a side note, I'd like to see an Event Welfare Servants tier list. I'm pretty sure we know who'd land at the bottom but I'd like to see where some of the better ones shake down.
Young Moriarty is the tryhard version of old Moriarty tbh. While old Moriarty won in Shinjuku but plot reasons he lost. While sherlock got the last laugh in young Moriarty
See nothing tops the Priest and the fact that he’s a pseudo spirit with Rasputin (*mwah) chef’s kiss on that concept. The priest is literally just senator armstrong but with a robe and a cross. There is one meme that hits hard for me that includes goetia. What if you wanted to go to seraphix (CCC event) but goetia said “but i will at least deny you this final victory” This man literally teamwipes hits hard and lore wise is just broken. Took Solomon to pull a no you to get him to chill. I had to go try hard and build an actual team besides just “random bullshit go”. Unga bunga will always prevail. Sidenote I beat the time temple when the event was almost done and had to burn so many apples. It was the rerun so you know I had to get BB that badly.
Kirschtaria and Gil are actually really similar as villains, but it does require the additional context of CCC Gil explaining his backstory. They're both someone who purposely decided to remain emotionally distant from the rest of the world and chose to act as a villain in order to achieve their plan, which they strongly felt would overall benefit humanity and make it better, even if it means sacrificing a large portion of people to achieve it. In their youth they were ignorant and childish in their arrogance, until a specific event humbled them into maturing. While they put up a front around pretty much everyone, they each have only one person they're able to open up to about their grand plan and their true feelings. I agree that Kirschtaria as a villain is more interesting and FSN Gil is extremely bland, but that's why Nasu made CCC to make him into more of an actual hero.
I feel like if you don't include the Lion Knights for Artoria, she is a blank slate of a villain, but her knights working to do the dirty deeds to keep her plan for humanity a success really rounds it out. she is the black hole that all the bad shit in that singularity revolves around.
Sometimes I think gudao might not be human, mainly because they have a unatural ability to make every single servant like or at least agree to fight for them regardless of their story (we have from saints like Joan of arc to Crazy genocidal rulers like Ivan the terrible) and is not just because they have a likeable personality, sometimes it kinda feels like the servants are being drawn to them. And there's also the fact that different from everyone other master that got recruited to Chaldea the first memory they was sleeping on the floor, not recently arriving like the others (i might be overthinking This part a little too much).
Yes you are. Officially Guda si a normal person who just applied to the recruitment and got into Chaldea as a spare. They have a pretty normal life and that's all. Even Nasu came to say they made Guda that plain so every player could insert themselves on Guda. Is not a Beast of Humanity or something (yet). Just a generic protagonist. And yes, Servants are drawn to Guda because they make no distinctions between saints and murders. They treat every one of them as people, even the annoying ones.
There is a pet theory ritsuka is basically all the players overlapping. So basically no matter the servant at least one person is going to connect with then.

I also liked Odysseus cause he gave no shots and hunted you down, showing no mercy which kind of made him feel like more of a threat to me personally where as other Villians like Zues get the perfect chance to kill the party only to let them go cause they don't see them as a threat.

Yeah, Darius Ainsworth is actually a legit lowkey great villain! A larger then life manipulator and parasite, who has kept himself alive over 1000 years taking over the bodies of his descendants through a form of displacement and substation, trying to write his own Legend and achieve godhood over his own Lostbelt! Though there's more to the Darius we see then what can be said without going into spoilers, just to say there isn't just one Darius, there is a Platonic form of him that once existed as a wildly different man!

Its to finally put the concept of being incriminated to a man who had evaded incrimination, making him back into a 'villain', and in shinjuku where stories and phantoms are a big theme, that pretty much gives him the concept of losing at the end. The latter is my interpretation but the former is actually said in story
There is more to Gil besides looks and the incredible voice actor. He is what happens when “the hero” decides that the world needs change and takes drastic action. He’s like if your Skyrim character decided the world needs less people in it. It’s a fun and terrifying thought when considering what makes a villain. As if that weren’t enough, there is more secrets goin on in Gil’s situation of the Fate series than most of the characters combined. Deep iceberg is always fun imo

I want to speak out for the defense of my boi Tesla. I am pretty sure you mis-remembered this part of the London story, cant blame you since its been many years, but he wasnt a villain, rather a tool. He was summoned and ordered to carry out the plan of the villans to blow up the fog surrounding london. He didnt have any control of his body but kept his mind intact, so he was just shooting the shit and casually talking with the chaldea crew while his body was walking to the targeted area to blow maximize the blast effectiveness. The real villains would have been the crew of Meffy, the bug guy when he was younger, and Baggage. All three were bascially working under Solomon anyway.
While yours is Liz, which would make her an S tier villain for once, mine is Musashi(saber). Every Anniversary they put her on the ones I want to pull, and I am at NP3 or 4 when not even trying for her. Want my muscle boys but somehow she is always paired with them, but gacha as S tier is true. The only disagreement is Gil as D tier, he helped create Kirei.
I hate Gil because in fsn he completely invalidates every other enemy when he appears. I know that everyone else is gonna lose before him. His power level is too high for me to care about any fight he’s in, he’ll never be in danger til the end. Also, Jason’s motivation in Okeanos is actually pretty noble. He does awful things to achieve it, and it’s self serving, but his goals are to make a world without war. He does what he does because Medea lily lies to him about what will happen if he sacrifices Eurayle. He legitimately thinks we’re trying to stop him from saving the world.
I kind of want an entire video of your takes on Fate protagonists now after that one section lol. I agree they're consistently mid at best with Kiritsugu being maybe the best of the bunch since he isn't written to be a stand-in for the audience. The "Shirou is a lot better in the VN" crowd I think is both correct, but also way overstating how much better he is. It doesn't suddenly make him an S tier character or anything.

There are so many things I like about the show like the bgm, achilles vs chiron fight, Chiron, kairi Mordred relationship etc. But the anime as a whole left such a bad taste in my mouth. Controversial opinion, sieg wasn't the worst character in apocrypha. Atlante was. Her whole character is that " she likes children." You know who else likes children? Gilles De Ray and somehow the psychopathic child murderer and rapist is more likeable than her.
I wonder how the villians of LB6 would fair on this list, Morgan I would vote A tier as she fills the trope of the evil person holding back a force of pure calamity protecting her lands and people (granted that’s a byproduct) but the toll it takes to hold it back leads to her people revolting. Oberon who just hates everything and wants everything dead…..C tier IMO……and then Aurora…..I have no idea how to rate her, there is something to say about writing a self absorbed villain like her but man is she DUMB. For five Lostbelts, all we're told is 'Superpowerful Crypter Mage!!1!, with the strongest Lostbelt!' building him up as the biggest obstacle for Chaldea. Come Olympus, we're given an excuse plot 'Oh, my father tried to have me assassinated, really I'm a super tragic figure trying to make humanity the new Gods, I'm not on the Alien Gods' side, honest.' As for Ivan, he's the 'villain' of the Lostbelt, but he doesn't feel like the villain as far as Chaldea's involved. He fused his people with demonic beast because it was that or freeze, and -Mozart- Sallieri's keeping him asleep so Kadoc can command the Oprichnik as a shock force. Shimousa!Douman; Sure, he's the one that set everything up, but his motives can be boiled down to 'because I wanted to see what would happen, lol.' If we're including the Lostbelts, he basically screwed over Yuga Kshetra, for basically the same reason actually. -- Could be higher: Kiara; she's a greater scope villain, as far as we're concerned, since, from our perspective, BB's the big bad (she really isn't, but...), but Kiara _Owns_ the role. She knows exactly what she wants, and has a viable plan to get it, she eats a god damn Demon Pillar, it takes _time travel_ to defeat her, and even the Alter Ego fragment that ends up in Chaldea is... biding her time, at best. Kama; While the Ooku event itself is a slog, I like Kama as the villain. She doesn't hide, doesn't deny being the bad guy behind it all, has a plan to remove the only obstacle left in her way (you), leads you around by the nose, basically wins because how can you defeat someone that's literally the universe, and only lost because Kasuga-no-Tsubone pulled conceptual rank bullshit that shouldn't even have worked. So imma push back on this Gil Slander. He's a shit villain in Fate Route where hes just trying to fuck Altria and irrelevant in Heavens Feel but I find him to be great as a polar opposite/inverse of Shirou. I also think he's one of the 3 most interesting characters in Zero with his convos with Kirei along side Iskander and Kiritsugu. Yes he is almost archetypal of an evil demon king but its done right as one and being archetypal ain't bad.

You can not like Gilgamesh but saying “the only thing going for him is that he’s hot and his voice actor is good” is just straight up factually incorrect even if you were an anime only you would not have a take this bad. Is Gilgamesh a simple villain in Fate? Sure. But that’s his starting point (and an important foul to Saber and Shirou) and even in UBW and HF build more off his foundation and develop his character.
I’ve seen both UBW and HF. This is an opinion formed based on his depictions in those. He fits the role of big bad and that’s about it. He’s cool for sure but as a villain he’s mediocre at best and bland at worst
Not going to lie, I got into FGO because I wanted Medb. After playing all this time, I hate her writing. 99% of her writing is just the "4 big guys" meme. Sometimes there's an inkling of something interesting, like when she had a few lines about body confidence in one of the summer events, but the rest of the time she's as 1 note as Columbus.
Only good villain from LB6 is Oberon-Vortigern. He's sus from the get-go, ends up being the true final boss, brings a new class (Pretender) into the game, and is very charismatic (almost at Moriarty level).

Only reason it was tough was during the first break bar where she inflicts buff block. I always got the timing wrong and asclepius would die before he removes it. Then I just replaced him with Marie and I just won that attempt. Olympus is super easy for me since I have the units needed to beat it. I mean aphrodite is the biggest joke. They didn't even bother with her. No forced support, dies in the same way as demeter and I just soloed that fight with tamamo. Zeus was pretty easy too since I have dantes and spishtar. And I actually gave the last hit to angra. It's not the gameplay that pissed me off, it's the story. I just hate most of it. I hate the ai. I hate the twins, whenever they come on screen all I hear is "wa wa wa wa". I hate zeus, he is the worst lb king. I hate aphrodite and demeter, as they are just characters who get backstory after they died, like do I need to care about them after I killed them? I hate Romulus, since he is the worst grand servant in terms of presentation and he is a tool in the story. I already hate mushashi, but it's not because of her that I hate the story. I still enjoyed summer 4 and shimousa, even if she was involved.

It was not natural at all. It worked in atlantis, but not in olympus. I can't really say which lb is my favorite. But lb3 has a special place mainly because of QSH. Funny part is, li shuwen was harder for me than demeter since I lacked good caster heroes back then.

He's relevant, interesting, and well written in zero, his dynamic with Kirei is cool as f, and how he manipulates the environment around him while simultaneously being this hateful bastard just screams well written. Especially since he's not supposed to be this super villainous guy, but a wise and tyrannical king, which is depicted greatly in Zero
Can everyone be S-Tier if we step back and see them as eroge villains, and FGO hasn’t done anything to disprove that. Scantily clad enemies, tentacles monsters, old men, and priest it’s all just there plain to see. And can honestly someone tell me they’ve seen better nuance Machiavellian villains in other 18+ material.

They're both someone who purposely decided to remain emotionally distant from the rest of the world and chose to act as a villain in order to achieve their plan, which they strongly felt would overall benefit humanity and make it better, even if it means sacrificing a large portion of people to achieve it. In their youth they were ignorant and childish in their arrogance, until a specific event humbled them into maturing. While they put up a front around pretty much everyone, they each have only one person they're able to open up to about their grand plan and their true feelings. I agree that Kirschtaria as a villain is more interesting and FSN Gil is extremely bland, but that's why Nasu made CCC to make him into more of an actual hero.
I feel like if you don't include the Lion Knights for Artoria, she is a blank slate of a villain, but her knights working to do the dirty deeds to keep her plan for humanity a success really rounds it out. she is the black hole that all the bad shit in that singularity revolves around.
Sometimes I think gudao might not be human, mainly because they have a unatural ability to make every single servant like or at least agree to fight for them regardless of their story (we have from saints like Joan of arc to Crazy genocidal rulers like Ivan the terrible) and is not just because they have a likeable personality, sometimes it kinda feels like the servants are being drawn to them.
And there's also the fact that different from everyone other master that got recruited to Chaldea the first memory they was sleeping on the floor, not recently arriving like the others (i might be overthinking This part a little too much).
Yes you are. Officially Guda si a normal person who just applied to the recruitment and got into Chaldea as a spare. They have a pretty normal life and that's all. Even Nasu came to say they made Guda that plain so every player could insert themselves on Guda. Is not a Beast of Humanity or something (yet). Just a generic protagonist. And yes, Servants are drawn to Guda because they make no distinctions between saints and murders. They treat every one of them as people, even the annoying ones.
There is a pet theory ritsuka is basically all the players overlapping. So basically no matter the servant at least one person is going to connect with then.

Yeah, Darius Ainsworth is actually a legit lowkey great villain! A larger then life manipulator and parasite, who has kept himself alive over 1000 years taking over the bodies of his descendants through a form of displacement and substation, trying to write his own Legend and achieve godhood over his own Lostbelt! Though there's more to the Darius we see then what can be said without going into spoilers, just to say there isn't just one Darius, there is a Platonic form of him that once existed as a wildly different man!

As for the phantom spirits of the fake authors. Its to finally put the concept of being incriminated to a man who had evaded incrimination, making him back into a 'villain', and in shinjuku where stories and phantoms are a big theme, that pretty much gives him the concept of losing at the end.

There is more to Gil besides looks and the incredible voice actor. He is what happens when “the hero” decides that the world needs change and takes drastic action. He’s like if your Skyrim character decided the world needs less people in it. It’s a fun and terrifying thought when considering what makes a villain. As if that weren’t enough, there is more secrets goin on in Gil’s situation of the Fate series than most of the characters combined. Deep iceberg is always fun imo

I want to speak out for the defense of my boi Tesla. I am pretty sure you mis-remembered this part of the London story, cant blame you since its been many years, but he wasnt a villain, rather a tool. He was summoned and ordered to carry out the plan of the villans to blow up the fog surrounding london. He didnt have any control of his body but kept his mind intact, so he was just shooting the shit and casually talking with the chaldea crew while his body was walking to the targeted area to blow maximize the blast effectiveness. The real villains would have been the crew of Meffy, the bug guy when he was younger, and Baggage. All three were bascially working under Solomon anyway.

While yours is Liz, which would make her an S tier villain for once, mine is Musashi(saber). Every Anniversary they put her on the ones I want to pull, and I am at NP3 or 4 when not even trying for her. Want my muscle boys but somehow she is always paired with them, but gacha as S tier is true.
The only disagreement is Gil as D tier, he helped create Kirei.

I hate Gil because in fsn he completely invalidates every other enemy when he appears. I know that everyone else is gonna lose before him. His power level is too high for me to care about any fight he’s in, he’ll never be in danger til the end.
Also, Jason’s motivation in Okeanos is actually pretty noble. He does awful things to achieve it, and it’s self serving, but his goals are to make a world without war. He does what he does because Medea lily lies to him about what will happen if he sacrifices Eurayle. He legitimately thinks we’re trying to stop him from saving the world.

I kind of want an entire video of your takes on Fate protagonists now after that one section lol. I agree they're consistently mid at best with Kiritsugu being maybe the best of the bunch since he isn't written to be a stand-in for the audience. The "Shirou is a lot better in the VN" crowd I think is both correct, but also way overstating how much better he is. It doesn't suddenly make him an S tier character or anything.

There are so many things I like about the show like the bgm, achilles vs chiron fight, Chiron, kairi Mordred relationship etc. But the anime as a whole left such a bad taste in my mouth. Controversial opinion, sieg wasn't the worst character in apocrypha. Atlante was. Her whole character is that " she likes children." You know who else likes children? Gilles De Ray and somehow the psychopathic child murderer and rapist is more likeable than her.

Come Olympus, we're given an excuse plot 'Oh, my father tried to have me assassinated, really I'm a super tragic figure trying to make humanity the new Gods, I'm not on the Alien Gods' side, honest.'
As for Ivan, he's the 'villain' of the Lostbelt, but he doesn't feel like the villain as far as Chaldea's involved. He fused his people with demonic beast because it was that or freeze, and -Mozart- Sallieri's keeping him asleep so Kadoc can command the Oprichnik as a shock force.
Shimousa!Douman; Sure, he's the one that set everything up, but his motives can be boiled down to 'because I wanted to see what would happen, lol.'
If we're including the Lostbelts, he basically screwed over Yuga Kshetra, for basically the same reason actually.

Kiara; she's a greater scope villain, as far as we're concerned, since, from our perspective, BB's the big bad (she really isn't, but...), but Kiara _Owns_ the role. She knows exactly what she wants, and has a viable plan to get it, she eats a god damn Demon Pillar, it takes _time travel_ to defeat her, and even the Alter Ego fragment that ends up in Chaldea is... biding her time, at best.
Kama; While the Ooku event itself is a slog, I like Kama as the villain. She doesn't hide, doesn't deny being the bad guy behind it all, has a plan to remove the only obstacle left in her way (you), leads you around by the nose, basically wins because how can you defeat someone that's literally the universe, and only lost because Kasuga-no-Tsubone pulled conceptual rank bullshit that shouldn't even have worked.
The Gacha; Ex-rank, precisely because we keep coming back for more.

So imma push back on this Gil Slander. He's a shit villain in Fate Route where hes just trying to fuck Altria and irrelevant in Heavens Feel but I find him to be great as a polar opposite/inverse of Shirou. I also think he's one of the 3 most interesting characters in Zero with his convos with Kirei along side Iskander and Kiritsugu. Yes he is almost archetypal of an evil demon king but its done right as one and being archetypal ain't bad.

Is Gilgamesh a simple villain in Fate? Sure. But that’s his starting point (and an important foul to Saber and Shirou) and even in UBW and HF build more off his foundation and develop his character.
I’ve seen both UBW and HF. This is an opinion formed based on his depictions in those. He fits the role of big bad and that’s about it. He’s cool for sure but as a villain he’s mediocre at best and bland at worst

Not going to lie, I got into FGO because I wanted Medb. After playing all this time, I hate her writing. 99% of her writing is just the "4 big guys" meme. Sometimes there's an inkling of something interesting, like when she had a few lines about body confidence in one of the summer events, but the rest of the time she's as 1 note as Columbus.

Only good villain from LB6 is Oberon-Vortigern. He's sus from the get-go, ends up being the true final boss, brings a new class (Pretender) into the game, and is very charismatic (almost at Moriarty level).

@@desmondmalone438 it wasnt rough, it was pretty easy for me. Only demeter was hard and still I beat it after 3 attempts. Only reason it was tough was during the first break bar where she inflicts buff block. I always got the timing wrong and asclepius would die before he removes it. Then I just replaced him with Marie and I just won that attempt. Olympus is super easy for me since I have the units needed to beat it. I mean aphrodite is the biggest joke. They didn't even bother with her. No forced support, dies in the same way as demeter and I just soloed that fight with tamamo. Zeus was pretty easy too since I have dantes and spishtar. And I actually gave the last hit to angra. It's not the gameplay that pissed me off, it's the story. I just hate most of it. I hate the ai. I hate the twins, whenever they come on screen all I hear is "wa wa wa wa". I hate zeus, he is the worst lb king. I hate aphrodite and demeter, as they are just characters who get backstory after they died, like do I need to care about them after I killed them? I hate Romulus, since he is the worst grand servant in terms of presentation and he is a tool in the story. I already hate mushashi, but it's not because of her that I hate the story. I still enjoyed summer 4 and shimousa, even if she was involved.

It was not natural at all. It worked in atlantis, but not in olympus. I can't really say which lb is my favorite. But lb3 has a special place mainly because of QSH. Funny part is, li shuwen was harder for me than demeter since I lacked good caster heroes back then.
