    Hey drake is there anyway i can tell the difference between a spec 2 and spec 3 case? Thanks!

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  3 роки тому

      The sleeve is different and also the cooling head.

    • @rcjerz
      @rcjerz 3 роки тому

      Adam Drake yea I know the sleeve has 3 sections in the exhaust port, I know head is different to. I got some random engine parts from a friend but there all taken apart. I know sleeves heads etc are different etc. but I’m saying the spec 2 and spec 3 and Xz are different case part numbers but they look the same on the outside. Is there anyway to tell them apart?

    Hi, can i use a O.S. T-2060SC WN in my O.S. Speed B2103 Type R .21 Competition Nitro Buggy Engine?

    Hi Adam, I appreciate the time you put into doing these videos. Could you please do a proper instruction on the how to tune the mid needle and the effect of turning it in or out.
    I "think" I have worked it out but it sure would be nice to get a proper handle on it. Please don't say just leave it alone, I paid good money to have it, so I sure as hell want the benefit of it. Thanks.

    • @adamdrake8006

      That's a great idea. I'll add it to my video list. Thanks!

      Your conduct in every video I watch from these to guys catching up with you in the pits is consistent. Your feathers are never ruffled and you seem happy to share. Good for you.
      I have got my 2 boys into nitro (I'm ex RC Heli) Tuning has always been my strength but these little .21 are extremely finicky by comparison. There are plenty of 101 videos on here so it would be nice for more advanced car tuning as well. Things to change for loose track or high grip etc.
      Appreciate you taking up the challenge on the mid needle, I couldn't imagine you have a lot of spare time to do these so thanks again for your effort.

    People are saying the spec 2 is better for truggy.

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  3 роки тому +1

      I like the Spec 2 over the Spec 3, but my favorite is the AD2 for buggy and truck.

    I've noticed that some pros are using the HB Racing wing mount. What does that mount help with?

    • @adamdrake8006
      @adamdrake8006 7 років тому +1

      It's not a huge change, but the HB mount is lighter.

    Where you the one that did a video on how to get your radio trigger to fit your finger with a soldering iron?

      @AdamDrake  7 років тому +1

      I don't remember if I ever did a video on that, but I've used that method many times.

    for the record the measurements are in metric (mm), make sure you have the right mode selected on your calipers the same every time. (he didn't specify the type of measurement, digitals have both metric and imperial...

    Any chance you have some ballpark numbers for your NR Drake Edition? Thanks!

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  7 років тому +1

      Flush on bottom and 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn in from flush on bottom.

    • @jasonbalibanracing7626
      @jasonbalibanracing7626 7 років тому +1

      I am assuming you meant...."Flush on TOP and 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn in from flush on bottom?"
      Oh, also, does reducer size change these settings?
      Thanks so much. Hope to see you again at LCRC for the Mugen Challenge.

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  7 років тому +1

      Flush on bottom and 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn in from flush on bottom., but with the Nova engines it can vary from engine to engine. I usually ran a 7mm reducer with that engine. See you soon!

    • @adamdrake8006
      @adamdrake8006 7 років тому +2

      Hello, it's not a huge difference between the standard P3 and the P3 gold. The P3 gold is a little more durable and will have slightly more bottom end.

    Are you putting the caliper inside the screw groove or the outside? Thanks

    • @jp_sweeck
      @jp_sweeck 7 років тому +2

      It's not inside the screw groove. Just next to the groove, on the surface of the screw.

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  7 років тому +5

      To the outside or head of the screw.

    • @AdamDrake

    • @AdamDrake

      Yes, it will be pretty close. I'll do a video for the Spec 2 as well.

    Hi Adam. One small question: how brutal spec3+2060 combo for buggy is?

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  7 років тому +4

      It has a lot of power, but not brutal to drive. Ronda really likes the Spec 3 in buggy.

      Hi Adam, is the 2060 or the 2090 Exhaust better for Spec3 in Buggy? Greetz from Germany :)

    Hi, Thanks for the vids they are awesome. I just broke in my new os xzb spec 3 and i noticed the front bearing is leaking fuel. I used an engine heater and all and was always between 180 -220f
    Is this normal or did i overprime the engine or something?
    I have an aftermarket 7x19x6 bearing but it has rubber covers on both sides should i remove the inner rubber cover and replace?

    • @AdamDrake
      @AdamDrake  6 років тому +1

      Hello Alex,
      if the engine is really rich, it can leak a little from the front bearing. I would try to run the engine at or near race tune and see if there's any problem tuning before you switch out the bearing. Yes, you can remove the inner seal on the front bearing. Have a nice weekend.

    Hi Adam. Are these high end engines easier to tune than lower cost engines?
