2 Years with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

2 Years. 2 years ago today mine and my family’s lives were forever changed. I went to pick my kiddos up for school. I had to go inside to sign for a basketball jersey. I went to leave, and fell all the way down the wooden stairs landing on the concrete below. I never imagined walking in to that building that day it would be my last time to walk normally with both of my legs anywhere. I never imagined that a human being could live daily in this indescribable pain that never lets up...only gets worse. I never imagined so much that I took for granted before I would no longer be able to do again. I also never imagined how incredibly strong and resilient I could be though. I never imagined I had the fight in me that I do...or our entire family for that matter. I never imagined the incredible connections and lifelong friendships that would come of such tragedy. I never imagined the tremendous amount of growth I would undergo as a result. Today is bittersweet. I am embracing it all. The good the bad and the ugly. It is shaping me in to the person that God has called me to be. This is my path, and I will walk it obediently. Though I may stumble along the way, I know He, and soooo many others, will be there to pick me up time and time again.
