Hi Kelly, I really enjoyed this video and I'm looking forward to part 2. I hope to try these techniques out very soon. I like you said that it can be applied to other media. Thank you for taking time to make this video and share it. :) I have those magnets. They stay put and easy to clean off. I do have some questions. :) 1. I see the completed cone. Did you do the cone in advance? 2. What brand of paint are you using? Do you thin it or use it straight out of the bottle? 3. What type of paper are you using? I see a lot of texture in it. All mine is pretty smooth. Does it matter? Will have to check and see all my papers. 4. I have a Cricut Air. I have some Cricut Vinyl. Does it matter what I use to make stencils? Honestly never thought to use my Cricut for stencils. LOL duh! Did you stock shapes on Cricut.com or your own. 5. I tend to airbrush on angle. Somewhat propped up. Does it matter? I noticed yours is straight up. Again, thank you for sharing your time and talent. - Patty
Sorry Patty. I completely missed the second part of your comment. The cone is missing because of a screw up in the video editing. It should have been part of the tutorial. The paint I use is House of Kolor and it is very reduced. The paper is actually a canvas paper. I prefer a smooth surface but for the tutorials this was a great alternative that doesn't cost much. You do have to be careful using vinyl for stencils. The big issue is how adhesive they can be. I believe Cricut does have a vinyl for making stencils though. I usually make my own stencils. Angle does not matter. Paint the way you feel comfortable. Mine actually lie flat. Camera angle makes it look straight up
