Now that we know that Namine was never a friend of ours we talk to her again to get some answers, but Riku gets in the way again!
Riku is alot stronger than before and he has a new DANGEROUS Sleight. "Dark Aura." If you see that sleight on screen, use a Zero card immediately before Sora dies. You're very likely to lose the fight if Riku pulls this move off.
Beware. Big spoilers will happen at this point.

Some advice for Dark Aura: It begins with, and is the only sleight that uses, a red card with a red background. If you see one prepared, get a 0 ready.

That's how I beat this battle in the GBA version as a kid. I just kept spamming 0 cards whenever he used a sleight until he ran out of cards.

@@JackkChaos Shouting people's names is a Japanese thing, so yeah, it sounds kinda awkward in English, but I think David (Riku's VA) did a good job with it.

I played the original Chain of Memories, and this fight took me 10 tries... without any 0 cards.
Marluxia's first fight, however... That gave me a headache. His lunge can instantly deal 60 HP damage to you, and you better have a 0 card or a sleight in hand in order to deflect it. And you know how this took me the most attempts? I used save states... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAMN FIGHT!!

When riku uses the incrementor use sleights on him you don't have to worry about those zero cards I used that strategy
Thanks so much I kept using lethal frame and I beat him along with tons of 0 cards
No prob. I like to mix up the cards and sleights I use.
@@LeopardSamurai lol won't lie I'm new to the whole series and not long completed the first one but tbh I hate chain of memories I preorderd KH3 because it looks wow and had the whole collection just in it for the story
I just break his cards with some combo. His cards don't value much
alot easier than the GBA version fight. it was a nightmare on the gba
4:38 Why do this? That spoils the upcoming twist for anyone who went into this game fresh. I know it's only a few scenes later, but it's still something the original game avoided by just calling the card "Riku".

Welp. I got to go back and grind to learn those moves and put in proper cards. I maxxed out health and continue to max out my deck more with cards and 0s. But i kept losing to this fool because i didn't use any insight moves or learn any.

He can kill you in 3-4 hits with that attack

How do you overcome rikus move wgen he starts flying from all directions, and then lands on you?
You have to break his Dark Aura with a Zero card or a number card higher than his skill.

Dark aura can quickly kill you regardless of how much hp you have. It will kill you if you dont cancel it.

@@LeopardSamurai uhh idk, because his fights get very difficult after Riku II? or is it because Riku IV is stupidly difficult, even worse than marluxia(not as hard as on the GBA version but still, Riku IV gonna kick ur ass if you don't get a good deck, and when you're a beginner you can't even tell if your deck is good or not because of the lack of in-depth explanation about the card system) or is it because his battle is one of the worst battles in the game for being repetitive, dragged out, and the broken card system. CoM is probably my least favorite KH game, because the card system is broken and very poorly balanced. at least Riku's story fixed it by giving riku an specific deck in every world, which I kinda admit I liked that way and even had fun, except for Ansem, Fuck... that... Boss...

Im struggling. 7 game overs and cant seem to beat him
I have 9, 8, 7 and 0 value attack cards in that order then 2 cures in 6 7 value then hi potion with 9 value.
Keep the 0 cards on top of the deck, Dark Aura is an insta-kill if he pulls that off, so you have to stop him.
I have card with 9 and I can't beat him!
I think I need alot of Blitz and Leathal sights

The Riku Replica fights are so easy. I just spammed Sonic Blade endlessly. :p
And that's what I hate about Riku 4, if you have a lot of CP and powerful sleights you can cheese him like nothing, but I don't have that luxury right now, it's nearly impossible to dodge his attacks, and he breaks your cards like nothing, horribly design boss battle in my opinion.

@@jonettheonly I do, but only enough for 2 or 3 attacks, I know I have to grind for more cp and probably build another moogle shop.
