So. What I have gathered is that this is about a trio playing music in a house but they do not notice the target employees slowly filling the house until it reaches maximum capacity. The Asian girl has the smart idea of trying to escape, but has little success. Target employees have taken over the planet.
can we talk about how clem is amazing. I mean she wrote this because of the bands split. she literally throws her blonde hair on the floor. she's amazing
I was sold the moment I saw the black Lennon style Rickenbacker. Great band! And all guitar solos should sound like that; short, sweet, and straight to the point!
anyone thought maybe clems blonde wig is reference to her past image, perhaps it's a reference to her being forced into being the sweet 18 year old cute indie kid that she doesnt want to be anymore
I love how this band is growing up, the sound is getting more mature, considering there is only 3 instruments the sound is amazing, and the vocals, amazing, keep up the good work.
[Verse 1] I was a lone wolf I thought I lost my pack Where are my ladies? Nobody has my back Girl, I should've stayed Maybe another day When I'm wide awake [Chorus] I told you I told you, I told you I'd be with the guys But I know better now than to be with the guys [Verse 2] I was a lone wolf I thought I lost my pack Where are my ladies? I guess that was my fault Girl, I should've stayed Maybe another day When I'm wide awake [Chorus] I told you I told you, I told you I'd be with the guys But I know better now than to be with the guys [Verse 3] Now, now I see the beauty It's necessary To give a lady love Oh oh, oh oh oh oh Now, now, now I see the beauty It's necessary To give a lady love Oh oh, oh oh oh oh
...sad to see very few people actually talking about the meaning here. the way i see it, the men in the red shirts are representative of how harmless it seems to have carried her past philosophy (i think what this song is getting at is a shift from the not like other girls/all my friends are guys attitude to something more feminist and sympathetic to other women). They are all dressed like generic chain store employees; the essence of friendly and inviting, however, the two girls get separated from each other and are quickly overwhelmed. Suddenly the presence of the "guys" has become something scary and sinister. The lyrics seem to imply that the writer of the song (I assume the lead singer but I could be wrong) had an experience where they left another girl alone in some sort of social gathering and something bad happened...the expression on the other girl's face (the girl in the car) seems to be very somber and slowly she is also overwhelmed by the "guys". The music video is brilliant because it tells a story with very powerful imagery. Something else I found interesting was the way the "guys" were portrayed. They're free-loaders, taking whatever they want with no regard for others. I'm guessing that if my theory about the writer experiencing an event which changed her attitude about male/female companionship is correct then this is meant to signify that the "guys" aren't actually that desirable to be with, whereas in the past she might have preferred their company, as if they were somehow superior to women. that's just my interpretation, of course I could be wrong. I'd be interested to hear other people's actual opinions about this. I'm not saying the state farm jokes aren't funny, I just feel like not enough attention is being payed to the actual content of the video. I scrolled through the comments and most of them fell under three categories: red shirt guy jokes, pits and nips, and "i miss the old sound". This song is only one of two I have listened to by them (the other wasn't memorable to me I suppose because I can't remember what it was called). I discovered it randomly long ago and recently I've been thinking about it so I searched for it again. I couldn't remember the title but the lyrics stuck in my mind. Whoever wrote this song is a lyrical genius in my opinion--the video director as well.
I can't believe people are whining about this. the spirit of Cherry glazerr is constant despite Hannah's absence. like this song is fucking great and they obviously still rock tf out live. Music is forever evolving and is about discovery, bitching about it is just disrespectful. SLAVE TO THE GLAZE AND GLAZE TO THE GRAVE AMIRIGHT. get it together.
i don't really understand why everyone is saying that their sound has changed drastically? it's pretty similar to their other stuff. anyways... total bop
Is anyone listening to that riff? Has there ever been anything like it in the history of rock n roll? I'm serious. I'm old and and I've never heard anything like that ferocity. I don't have a red polo tho....
So I've never heard of these people just kind of showed up in my feed and so I look at the comments all I see is complaining about people complaining yet I see no actual complaints.
I notice this a lot on videos, you'll see someone telling people to shut up about X but then you scroll through the comments for a dozen pages and no one is actually talking about X.
So far I've seen Target, Staples, State Farm, Radio Shack. Where did they find these guys in khakis and red shirts??? But seriously, great song, and amusing and deceptively deep video. *Love* this band.
Go for it! It is your body and your choice! Personally I love smooth skin and since I have hairy arms I love shaving or waxing, but respect every woman who doesn't shave her hairs. Screw guys or other girls who call others out for letting their natural hair grow in their body. Ignorant people.
Did the unemployed guys from Radio Shack kidnap Sean? those bastards!, I meant no disrespect to Crevvy who's the leader & creator of CG , it was just a comment meant to be funny, wish Sean & The Buttertones well though
Que canción tan mas chingona. Me encanta y lo mejor de todo es que tuve la oportunidad de escucharla en vivo en la CIUDAD DE MÉXICO EN EL CONCIERTO DE BILLY IDOL. CANTAS BIEN CHINGON.
You have a good song - and I was gonna buy your CD but after having seen your sick clip on your homepage I now wont. There is no need - limit the madness!

the walking target employees
Robert Ellis they're taking all the food...
So many Target employees, yet none of them know where to find the granola.
Zzzzzzzz
Robert Ellis and it all really happened. August 31st, 2016. Go talk to your farmers. We know a thing or two cause we've seen a thing or two.
So this is what all the unemployed Radio Shack Managers have been doing.
and Target ETL's
You mean Circuit City?
Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam Gooooooooooooooooooooooody
Bones Muhroni XD
My boyfriend was a manager at the Shack. A bunch of his coworkers totally got jobs at Target after the store closed.
it feels weird coming back to this song 7 years later
This is a strange Staples commercial.
Sean Dalin that's bcuz its obviously target commercial, silly
Where *is* the easy button?
The best one !
Ahh the memories! This was the soundtrack for a special period of my life, that I shared with a lover that is no longer with me.
I just listened to this live yesterday at the Billy Idol concert in Mexico City. Awesome sound, Cherry Glazerr!
Love billy💕
Without Sasami it's not such cool
Normally I overplay songs when I get into them too much but this one is not getting boring... cracking stuff would be an understatement.
"What are you wearing, Jake from state farm?"
@@amanda4540 she sounds hideous
UH, KHAKIS
🤣🤣
Forever trying to remind myself not to read the comments section. *facepalm*
Then don't comment.
I love the way that snare sounds, is just so rich and sweet, perfect.
Is this a Target commercial ?
This song is INCREDIBLE! The drums are fu**ing tight, the keys create a lot of atmosphere and the guitars & vocals are melodic and rocking as hell!
A Masterpiece . . . A Wizard A True Star!!!
Where redshirts go after they die on the Enterprise
Like a good neighbor, Statefarm is... everywhere?
Damn, State Farm really took their commercials to the next level.
can we talk about how clem is amazing. I mean she wrote this because of the bands split. she literally throws her blonde hair on the floor. she's amazing
this is like her throwing the cherry glazerr away
I can't believe no one is commenting about how good of a meaning this music video has. Cherry glazerr is so amazing
is cherry glazerr named after ua-cam.com/video/Ov5kQXAGhow/v-deo.html
Well said puzzlesoup!!
I was sold the moment I saw the black Lennon style Rickenbacker. Great band! And all guitar solos should sound like that; short, sweet, and straight to the point!
Right on !!!
anyone thought maybe clems blonde wig is reference to her past image, perhaps it's a reference to her being forced into being the sweet 18 year old cute indie kid that she doesnt want to be anymore
That's a very interesting and unique thing to catch. I appreciate this post
I noticed that too ❤️ Cherry Glazerr is A+ !!
Nice!!
All these target and State Farm employees....
imo it's a good song but they should rewrite the lyric at 0:55 since a lot of people seem to be confused about that part and replaying it a lot
I love how this band is growing up, the sound is getting more mature, considering there is only 3 instruments the sound is amazing, and the vocals, amazing, keep up the good work.
[Verse 1]
I was a lone wolf

I told you
I told you, I told you I'd be with the guys
But I know better now than to be with the guys
[Verse 3]
Now, now I see the beauty
It's necessary
To give a lady love
Oh oh, oh oh oh oh

what is this about?
A great song - makes me think about the best times of Veruca Salt or The Breeders - but not a copy, it is a new original
russland.RU with a dash of the donnas
Love both comments. your both right!!
Also has a bit of the nostalgic feel of The Preatures
And maybe some Sleater-Kinney
I have been listening to this song for years and it is still one of my favorites. Love iiiit!
Same boat my friend !!!
I'm really diggin' this. I liked their earlier stuff, but they seem like they're really growing.
Meanwhile, all of yall proving Clementine's point.
Thier music is multilayered nectar for the ears and brain, I can't wait to see them in concert ❤️

Jace Jay I have been thinking about your comment for weeks now. Thank you for providing such a thorough analysis.
I'm agree with You
Trust me, she's safe from "the guys". Those pits haven't seen a razor in ages.
@@YourOldPalDP I love them pits.
@@YourOldPalDP You have too much faith in "the guys" if you think only conventionally attractive women get attacked.
getting into them lately. really digging their latest album. heard it this morning.
chastity belt, jaala, warehouse love strong grrrl leads.

I did love the old band but this lineup is great. Excellent show in Portland earlier this month!
I am just realizing how genius this songtext is. I can totally relate. thank you for writing this song.
I told you I’ll be with the guys ! Where are my ladies ?
You know when some people's voices were just _made_ for the genre they're doing?? That's the vocalist for this band
:D haha what!?
The outro cuts so deep. What beauty!
maybe i'm just not as familiar with cherry glazerr as a lot of these other people but i don't mind this

i don't really understand why everyone is saying that their sound has changed drastically? it's pretty similar to their other stuff. anyways... total bop
At first I thought they sounded totally different but a year passed I'm back and it is similar to there old sound .
Thats what I love about youtube, Im randomly always finding new music . This is pretty awesome!
Is anyone listening to that riff? Has there ever been anything like it in the history of rock n roll? I'm serious. I'm old and and I've never heard anything like that ferocity. I don't have a red polo tho....
If you like that, check out the riff on the chorus of "Wasted Nun."
GIRL POWER
I was a Lone Wolf! Cherry Glazerr Rocks!
THIS BAND IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!
So I've never heard of these people just kind of showed up in my feed and so I look at the comments all I see is complaining about people complaining yet I see no actual complaints.
The only complaints I saw were the guitar riff was a little underwhelming and that's not even that bad it's just constructive criticism
I notice this a lot on videos, you'll see someone telling people to shut up about X but then you scroll through the comments for a dozen pages and no one is actually talking about X.
I dig this so harrddddd its so different but still cherry glazerr i love the ending as well i could cry to this song

Apparently the set for this music video was built and shot in an old abandon Circuit City, which is evidenced by the knowledgeable and helpful staff.
