    lol, I'm running a 64T rear sprocket on my sur ron. Tops out at 65mph exactly on 72v.
    I'm waiting to jump on the talaria train until they have 72v kits ready to go

    Just got my talaria sting put together today! And I am just a hop and a skip away from PDX.

    For the Sur-Ron I know that Luna Cycles has a belt drive kit. I’m not 100% sure if you’re using the same drive train but it would be a lot smoother and zero maintenance. I wouldn’t recommend it for off-road use for motorcycles but for a bicycle it would be pretty easy to swap a belt in the field.

      This bike has a geared transmission. Way more robust than the belt drive on the Surron 😎

      @LarryRichelli 2 роки тому +1

      @@OregonMotorcycle I think you two are talking about different belt drives. I think Matt was talking about replacing the drive train to the rear wheel with a belt.

      @@LarryRichelli , The Sting has a mechanical gearbox that is driven by the electric motor, the Suron is directly driven from the electric motor, this is the main reason the Sting weighs more, and its also the reason that makes the Sting a potentially more desirable bike for performance mods. I also think that once you boost the power of the Suron its starts snapping belts.

      @@EssPhour I have had two sur rons so I know what your talking about. I believe that right now you can't get a upgraded controller (BAC 4000 or 8000) for the sting. From what I hear it could be a while.

    The Bomber 58 is the same fork as the 2020 (? not sure what year the Fox changed) and older Fox 40 minus the low speed adjustments but most people run the low speed clicks in the middle anyway. New Bombers sell for just over 1G and come with black or red lowers. I got mine from my bud just South of Seattle. He's a dealer for several brands, knows his stuff and has a great reputation in the Surron community so let me know if you want the hookup.

    Hey great video. FYI, I bought the GLE Ludicrous power upgrade for my Talaria and I am hitting 70 mph. Found about it from a guy on youtube SwarmMcReynolds rippin the streets with it. I used his coupon code.

    Very disappointing that the battery moves around as that would've been very obvious during the design/revisions/testing. I am curious about using a much larger sprocket for more bottom/mid as I am willing to lose top-end.

    • @OregonMotorcycle
      @OregonMotorcycle  2 роки тому

      Yeah this might only be an issue for earlier models, but not exactly sure yet.
      With the 48 tooth rear sprocket, it does feel a bit more torquey, and that’s with heavier wheels. A lot of guys run sprockets even bigger.

      @@OregonMotorcycle yea your build is quite interesting. First I have seen with the 21". That would definitely make for better handling. I amazed you were only up 5lbs.. I expected at least 20

    Would love to see someone say you don't need to yank out the brake sensor wires, just unplug them and leave them in place, no lost parts if you ever go resale the bike.

      Yeah you could just unplug them. I didn’t want the extra clutter.

    How much loss on distance would you say with going up to 21” tires. I mainly ride mine on roads as daily commuter but take it on trails as well. I just don’t want to lose too much distance and power on commute. Thanks

      @@OregonMotorcycle wow! That’s crazy. Thanks for your response. Do you think on road it would do the same or just because of trails? I wonder how much a 72v system would help with that energy loss

    • @OregonMotorcycle
      @OregonMotorcycle  Рік тому +1

      @@jsmmao I’ll probably put a 72 volt on next year. Should really improve the range. If you are wanting long distance off road, try the shinko tires. They are great on and off road. I ran those on my last off road trip.
      Off-roading does deplete the battery faster because of hills and constant throttle jabbing.

    TIP! If you rivet plastic use an appropriate sized metal washer to keep the pop rivet from pulling through the plastic. Even a good idea for thin metal.

    How comfy is the seat for long rides? Im thinking about getting something for on-road use. I want to ride a motorcycle but i like ebikes better.
    Also is it possible to put something like a second gear (2 speed) for even higher speeds?

    • @OregonMotorcycle
      @OregonMotorcycle  2 роки тому

      It’s not the most comfortable.
      As far as gearing goes…. It’s a bit different than gas power. Basically this bike makes enough power to propel you to 45 mph. There’s a ton of torque. You could put a 3 speed on it and it would still go just as fast.
