First impressions of wake Island, whilst flying my BFVJapanese Planes. I hope the American F4U Corsairs don't try and stop me. What if they take over my Airfield though? Only in Battlefield 5

I feel like they should have at least put a destroyer on the map like battlefield 1943, like how bf1s naval warfare was
i personally loved the destroyer combat in bf1.

@@danthemanleech826 yess, they should make it available on certain maps (such as this one) I forgot what the plane was called but it was a heavily used torpedo plane during the Pacific war
At least the torpedo boats with heavy machine guns
Never mind that it was the U.S. that had the island first... Of course, Dice seems to have forgotten this elementary fact.
I believe they only did it because they dont have any amphibious vehicle models for the Japanese.
Also because the wake island defenders look nothing like the American marines, it would make no sense to have green marines with M1 helmers when in reality the soldiers who defended the island wore Beige Almost wwi style clothing with a Brodie helmet, of course, you seem to have forgotten this elementary fact

Last time I was this early, the Japanese were still in China.
The new bomb reticle on the pacific makes tanking almost impossible. Just constantly getting bombed by the 500 lb bombs that can get you in one swoop. It’s a bummer for someone who prefers tanks over planes.
I agree but if there are no planes harassing me I can go almost the whole round in one tank. Especially if it’s not a stock tank
I don't really have a problem with tanks but that might just be my experience. They still havw to get a bit close to drop the bomb on your vehicle so a few shots with the cannon or machine gun will deter a pilot. But I probably don't have pilot issues because i play on console

I loved Wake Island on BF2. Dragon Valley as well. I miss BF2 more than any other Battlefield.

Nicca, something that helped me in bf4 with dealing with faster planes and jets is to do switchbacks and rolls close to the ground. its makes you can impossible target as well as makes them want to pull away. Love the vids keep it up :D

Sad, I never really played much of wake island in 1942 or 1943 so I’m glad I have a chance to play a more detailed one. 1942 is still good but I do prefer Battlefield 5.

3:25 You're right, I don't play Battlefield 5 and only watch your videos. I'm still on BF1 with my platoon. However, I would instantly switch to BF5 whenever they simply give us "Highlights" like on BF1. Until then, there is absolutely no gratification in playing the Medic.

I like the bits on the ground you add sometimes. Wow, the bombs and rockets are actually usefull now. I guess that patch did something good for the pilots
That is exactly true, I am a call of duty player that watches you because you're absolutely amazing! Love both games but I can't really get to grips with battlefield, just love how cinematic it looks!

on all of the las vids i commented how good the medium rocket buffs are and nicca didnt read it, you can do a max dmg of 85 to lvts and around 75 to shermans, the good thing is that they have little drop and are very precise, also making them good vs aa guns

They look clumsy when they fly

What if BfV made a operation mode specifically focused on the Pacific theater. Starting from the attacks of Pearl Harbor all the way to battle of Wake Island, Henderson Airfield, Iwo Jima and Tokyo, Japan? A constant operation game for either Americans or Japanese to win the war. A simulation operation. Plus BfV can actually give historic facts during the intro of an operation

Ive played battlefield since battlefield 1943 and its great to see this map restored and used for conquest again
wake island has always been a map where the defender has their work cut out for them, they start with the advantage to owning everything, but they can be pushed into the sea and force an early win if the attackers are good enough. i think this is what makes it such a popular map across the whole series, is that the design of it really creates naturally balanced gameplay despite it looking so lopsided in favor of the attackers.

I remember holding a battlefield 1942 box and a medal of honor Allied assault box while waiting in line at Best Buy excited thinking which one was first. Battlefield 1942 one of the best games I've ever played in my life
Ah bf2 Wake Island. Getting my squad in the personnel carrier heli, and flying way up to just let them parachute on the air strip to dominate early. Fun time's

I stopped playing after the first 2 months i had the game cause i was extremely disappointed with the performance.
I stopped playing after trying the Alpha and Beta, it just wasn't as fun as BF1, or BF4, or BF3, or BC2.

You were a baby when BF1942 came out but I was in college. No spotting assist or any of that bs at the time.
I was kid when i played 1942 demo and the wake island was the only map you could play

I like how the scrub around the airfield looks like it would when factories etc are built. That grotty, bodies get dumped here a lot sort of look. Big change from Bf1942.
I am so much better with the bombs now with the circles showing where they will hit.
I hate that cannons can't kill planes anymore, was the funnest thing to one tap with the 75mm but now I can't do anything but attack the ground with my ju 88 and mosquito, and oh god the stuka
I liked flying without reticle especially since fliegers got nerfed so unless they have really good pilots I can just destroy without worry and with extreme precision
You should adventure the map and look for secrets on the maps

I'm turning 16 this year and I played battlefield 1942 on my uncle's computer when I was 8-10 it was so fun.

The TWO things I like from 5.2- Rocket buff and flieger rework. Cocky pilots escaping to the resupply are now easy targets for the 600m travel distance IF you know how to lead your shots. Nailed one my first try from probably a good 450m yesterday
I'm like, please dont let me be on this as this is my second day playing and still figuring it out 😂 theres a lot to do even being able to hook up canons to cars and mess people up, however the canon seems to only show up once! Havent seen them only after using them once

Im kinda put off to play the game since the latest ttk update. I haven't had good impressions on the wake island map either...
IR0N AUSS13 in hearing more people saying it's their least favorite map of the three new pacific theatre maps. I haven't played it yet but from what I see, it's too big and cluttered, and as pilots you are stuck out in the open 100% of the time with no where to duck for cover. Still funny to me in DICE's trailer they claimed "welcome back to the original battlefield" but doesn't feel like it at all. The only similarity is the name of the map and shape of the island.
@@Faydurr i can highly agree with you, everything is too open in my opinion, which makes it worse with the recent ttk update, playing any other class other than scout seems useless to me on that map. That is excluding tankers and pilots.

@@Faydurr the problem is that people are getting trapped in one spot as they are struggling to take the infantry out so the planes are having a field day. Also the americans have an insane amount of tanks so the japanese usually lose at the moment.

This map is alot of fun as thr attackers until you get to the last sector, the last sector is just so hard to get a hold of, especially with the bunker area and how fast the defenders seem to come back after dying. I got like 100 kills in a previous match on Wake Island but it didn't feel like those kills even made a slight difference in taking the last sector.
This was the demo level for 1942 before the game came out. It allowed for a full match as many times as you wanted. Imo it was the best demo ever released.
So what about the glide bomb. We now have the reticule,so maybe it’s gonna be easier to use
